"Come on, guys," Evelyn shouted up the stairs. "We don't have time for this!"
"Don't you mean you don't have time for this?" Olivia questioned as she came down the stairs.
Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Savannah, hurry up!"
"Coming!" She shouted as Drew thundered down the stairs. She followed right on his heels, tugging on sneakers.
"Thank you," Evelyn said. "Now into the car, chop chop."
As Olivia took the passenger's seat, Drew and Savannah climbed into the back. Lydia sat in the middle alongside Cooper, who was dressed but also asleep.
"Alright, everyone's here, everyone has their backpacks, the diaper bag's in the car, and I still have an ounce of sanity," Evelyn murmured as she pulled out of the driveway. "Check, check, check, check."
"Actually, I'm not sure you're still sane," Olivia commented.
Evelyn stopped the car. "Would you like to walk?"
"No thanks," Olivia muttered, going back to scrolling through her phone.
"Then don't talk," Evelyn snapped as she hit the gas again.

"Have a good day!" Evelyn shouted out the window. "I'll be back at two thirty to pick you up!"
"Thanks, Mum," Lydia said, following Olivia into the high school.
"Love you!"
"Bye!"
"Alrighty, guys," she said, pulling out of the parking lot. "To elementary school we go."

"Bye," Evelyn said. "Have a great day!"
"See ya," Drew said, walking into the building.
"Mum, how long until we get to school?" Savannah asked, sounding bored.
"Twenty minutes, hun," Evelyn replied.
"I'm bored," she complained after a few minutes.
"Count trees."
"Fine."

"Alright Savannah, you ready?" Evelyn asked, picking up Cooper.
"Yeah," she said, reaching up for Evelyn's hand.
Upon entering the preschool, Evelyn signed in both her children before dropping Savannah in her classroom on her way to the Cooper's classroom. She handed Cooper off to one of the women there and bid farewell.
Sitting down in the driver's seat of her car, Evelyn sighed, checking the time when the old car had started.
"9:15 already?" She murmured to herself as she pulled onto the highway. "Better hurry."
