UNDYING LONGING

UNDYING LONGING

I've been mending soles day and night,
working with no delight.
Such is a pauper's plight.
And amidst those days, she came to sight.

Her presence took me by surprise.
She appeared like a goddess in disguise,
walking to a place not far but close.
And I'm the stranger that once showed her those roads.

I thought of approaching her again,
only to become a lamb again,
admiring her beauty from afar.
Isn't that enough?
Why is a pauper like me still craving for more?
