Dancing With The Devil

I glanced at a pile of papers in from of me and groaned. That was a lot of paperwork and Mao was in a meeting so I was on my own. I personally hated paperwork, but it had to be done by someone and apparently I was the one who had to do it. Well, I was the 3rd in command after all.

My eyes drifted to my dagger, Deger. It was laying on the table next to me. The dagger definitely meant the world to me. My mother had given it to me when I was a child and it had been with me ever since. It understood me better than anyone else. (Don't tell Mao I said that)

I was sitting in the garden behind the HQ since it was closed for the day. Behind the garden was an area where sat all the graves of our dead siblings.

I let my eyes wander around the garden, which was full of different flowers. My favorites were Lily of The Valleys. They were so pretty and made me smile. A began slowly humming a song I remembered from my childhood.

"You are the oceans grey waves, destined to seek life beyond the shore, just out of reach. Yet the waters ever change, flowing like time, the path is yours to climb.

In the white light, a hand reaches through, a double edged blade cuts your heart in two. Waking dreams fade away. Embrace the brand new day.

Sing with me a song, of birthrights and love. The light scatteres through to the sky above. Dawn breaks through the gloom, white as a bone,

Lost in thoughts all alone..

Sing with me a song, of silence and blood. The rain falls, but can't wash away the mud. Within my ancient heart dwells, madness and pride. Can no one hear my cry?

You are the oceans grey waves, destined to seek life beyond the shore, just out of reach. Yet the waters ever change, flowing like time, the path is yours to climb.

You are the oceans grey waves."

The song always calmed me down. It was kinda sad, but I loved it.

A cold wind flow through the garden. Suddenly the air felt thick, which gave me an uneasy feeling. Something was going to happen. I reached for Deger with my right hand, a mistake.

I let out a scream as the dagger burned my hand. I quickly tried to pick it up with my left hand, but realized that something was wrong. I moved my eyes to the table and my heart stopped.

The dagger was melting against the oak wood. I knew it wouldn't do that on its own.. Someone had done something to it. And I knew very well who...

"Do you like the surprise I made?" A voice inside my head asked.

Sam..

I fell on my knees just watching as my life flashed before my eyes. My sanity was slowly melting away and there was no going back. Tears began to fill my empty eyes.

Deger had been the thing that had kept me from going crazy. Mao was giving me my sanity, but without Deger he wouldn't be able to do that... I was going to lose myself.. And Sam knew that..

"Now your little toy is almost gone! How sad!" Sam laughed pretending to feel pity.

Then Deger stopped melting and soon turned to ashes. I tried to reach for it, but the wind was faster.

My whole mind just snapped and I screamed before breaking down in tears. I fell on the ground and just cried.

I was lost in thoughts all alone.. Can no one hear my cry?

"You're so pitiful! But I'm not complaining because I know you can't resist my control now!" Sam laughed and start trying to take over the control.

I resisted screaming and kicking the air, but eventually I had to give up.. There wasn't a reason for me to fight and I knew it..

"What do you want from me..?" I asked from him after he took the control. My voice sounded emotionless, raspy and nothing like it used to. All the cheerfulness and happiness were gone.

"Deep in the Twisted Forest is a castle the Watchers used during wars thousands of years ago. I want to go there!" Sam answered and started walking towards the barrier.

"You want to travel through the barrier..? That's going to be painful.." I pointed out.

"Does that matter? No, it doesn't!"

Soon we vanished through the barrier. I felt something sharp, like spikes, they pieced my skin from many parts and the pain was real, but I didn't care.

"It actually worked.." I mentioned as we stood in front of the castle.

"Yes, of course it worked!" Sam smirked.

He raised my hand and pulled out the Watcher mask on my face tossing it on the ground and stepping on it. It snapped in two.

He started walking towards the front entrance and pushed the huge obsidian doors open.

The air was cold and the place was dark. My vision wasn't so clear without the mask, but I wasn't in control so it didn't matter that much.

I noticed that he had stopped in front of a mirror. My breath hitched as I realized what I looked like. He let me take the control.

My eyes were empty and brown, not purple.. My wings and halo were hidden. My cloak was dirty and had bleeding cuts in many places. My right leg wasn't completely attached to its place and my left arm looked rusty. My hair was now sloppily cut short by the travel through the barrier. I had cuts everywhere around my body and my right hand was red and in pain after Deger had burned it again. I looked nothing like myself...

"Do you want to know what my plan is?" Sam smirked taking the control.

"I don't think I have any other opinions," I answered without showing any emotions.

"We will kill the Angels and take back my little Taurtis, who will help us get my sweetheart Gree-on! The I'll make him love me and we'll die together as a couple! Plus you will die with us as a third wheel, but no one cares!" Sam laughed.

"I don't have any opinions... I'm not going to stop you because we both know I can't.. But remember, I'm not under your control for my own will.." I spoke coldly.

"You'll learn to live with me eventually!" Sam answered smirking.

"..."

"You're so pathetic! You gave up before you even started! I'm so glad you're an easy one to toy with! One move and you were already on my strings!" Sam laughed. He started to sound like a maniac, I had to admit that.

"Remember that Grian is my brother and I'm not going to hurt him.. Or any other of my siblings!" I reminded him.

"Would you at least kill the Angels for me honey?" He asked giving me an innocent smile through the mirror.

"..."

"Would you?"

"Yes... I don't mind killing them," I answered. I really didn't mind taking a few Angels since they didn't seem to have the cleanest papers anyways.

"Good girl! I knew I could trust you!" Sam purred making me disgusted.

"I'm just reminding you that I am still a minor so don't get any ideas.." I pointed out in a warning tone.

"Don't worry about that! My heart belongs to my sweet Gree-on!~" He laughed.

"You know he doesn't love you..."

"Do I look like I care?"

"Just keep that in mind... You'll just hurt him.. Wait- you don't have feelings so it won't bother you.!"

"I have feelings! But they're all for my Gree-on! For him only! No one else deserves my love, only my Gree-on!"

"You're beginning to disgust me... But I can't do anything about you so I'll have to let it slide..."

"You are a really good puppet! I really like you, you know! I know you won't disappoint me like anyone else would!"

"That is true..."

"Now, now, didn't I have a mission for you?"

"You want me to kill the Angels now?"

"Yes! I need Taurtis here as fast as possible so he can get me my Gree-on before he leaves this forest!"

"Alright.. I do have my Void weapons that I can use.."

"Perfect! Let's go, shall we?"

"Yes.. Let's go.."

Then he began to walk to another room. He pulled four regular stone and four iron from somewhere and crafted the Aether portal opening the way to the realm where the Angels lived. They wouldn't be expecting us.. It would be too late when they would realize they were going to get demised!

The plan was simple, but it would work. It involved only one word;

Kill..

Words: 1481

(Yay! I'm going to cry so much!)

(Also just a bit clearing, Xelqua, Godiva and Dexter accidentally went to the Twisted Forest and thought it was some other forest. ((Thanks to Cod's and Dexie's shitty navigation-skills)))
