The Offer

Asgore settled himself in a big plush chair after leading Gaster to his office. “Please have a seat” he said kindly, gesturing to the chair across from his. “I have an offer for you, one that I hope you will take.” he said, still smiling kindly.

“Tell me,” I said as I leaned against the wall rather than sitting down. “What is this ‘offer’ of yours.”

Asgore sighed, resting his elbows on the table while putting his hands together. “My recent royal scientist fell into one of his experiments, his assistant to slow to help him.” he looked Gaster in the eyes. “I have heard about your genius mind, and thus I would like you to be my new royal scientist” he smiled.

“Tempting, but I’ve got a son to raise.” Gaster explained to the king.

Asgore hummed. “Oh I’m sure my wife and I could look after him just fine, but we really need you to take this offer” he never looked away from Gaster. “By doing this you would be helping all of monster kind!” he smiled widely.

“And I’m sure you would, but he wants me around, and he’s scared of you. So for now, no. I need to help him through this. He lost his father not too long ago. Only one or two days. So for now, I’ll wait. But I’ll think about it. So, hold the offer, yeah?”

Asgore was glaring now, but he took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. “..... alright, thank you for your time.” with that he turned around and walked away.

Hmm. Interesting, I thought. I did know that the king got angry, but I didn’t know about his impatience.

Vediovous ran into the room crying as Asriel ran after him, giggling and squealing.
d-DadDy!” Vediovous cried out as Asriel threw flowers at him, continuing to giggle.

“Young prince, may I ask what you are up to?” I stopped Asriel in his tracks. “You seem to have upset my child. I see a problem with this. Care to explain?” I waited for an explanation.

As Asriel stopped, he looked up at me with wide eyes, looking innocent. “I sorry sir, I no think I was doin’ any wrong.” Since he was so young, he didn’t quite know how to speak.

Vediovous shakily held onto Gaster’s pant leg, burying his head into Gaster’s side. “H-he KepT ThRoWiNg FlOweRs At Me!” Vediovous cried.

“I’m sure it was all in good meaning, right prince?” I glared at Asriel, knowing he would be scared and apologize. “I sowy ser, I didn’t mean not’n by it.” He said sadly.

Vediovous kept shaking. He wasn’t used to other kids because he has never played with kids before, all the ‘playing’ hes done is getting beat on by his older siblings and mother, so he had no idea how to properly play with another child.
