When the stars came alive

She got up and walked out of his office almost angry at herself for revealing so much. But then again, perhaps it was a good thing, it will help her get better, right?

As she makes her way on the street, she couldn't help but look around. She passes by the cemetery, there's this thing in it which makes her think deeply. It most probably sounds odd but epitaphs are truly intriguing.
There's this favourite one of her's by a lady named Edith Tina Barlow which says "Shit Happens". Everytime she thinks about it, her mind goes, It truly does, doesn't it? At least for me it did.
And more often than not she ends up wondering what will be on hers.

The doorbell chimes a beautiful symphony as she goes inside the cafe. The smell of fresh cocoa and delicious cookies fills inside of her and she is unable to hold the sigh as it escapes her lips.

"Good morning Nano, what do you have in mind today?" A papery frail voice called out to her at the left, but knowing who it was she grunted and said," Same old, same old Aunty. How about a large cup of bitterness with one small teaspoon of sunshine?"

She turned around with a small smile set on her face.

"Oh dear, I will never be able to understand your need to dramatize everything. Bhavya get out of there! Be fast, Naina's gone off again with her daily dose of fantasy!" Mrs. Aggarwal commented with her hands on her hips.

She sighed and closed her eyes for a bit while taking in a deep breath and answered, " Wherefore o wherefore, thee sweet mistress of mineth, wherefore deny me so. I wisheth f'r some happiness still, yond only thy hands can deliv'r!" She said with a tinge of naughtiness.

In response, she gets a soft pat on her head and a bright smile.

"Naina! Why are you here Again?!" An exasperated moan bellowed out Bhavya's mouth.
"Aren't you a pocket full of rainbow!" She commented, taking off her jacket and settling on the chair infront of the counter.
"Yeah, yeah. What can I get you, the usual?" He asked.
"Do you even need to ask?" She snorted. His lips quirked as he went on to prepare the unusual coffee mixture Naina seemed to adore.

After a few minutes, her hands were curling around her cup of coffee. She started looking through the baked delicacies on the counter. The cookies smell so nice as if asking her to devour them whole.

The doorbell chimes a second time as a stranger comes strolling in, bringing a rush of sunlight along with himself. She watches him from the corner of her eyes not wanting him to realise her insistent staring. Man, what a great sight to behold, she thinks taking in his muscular chest visible perfectly through his tight navy blue shirt. Her eyes move down to his black Jean's before rising to his face and she immediately realizes that he noticed her checking him out. She silently prays for god to swallow her up.
"Welcome to the Aggarwal's Cafe! What can I get for you this fine morning?" An awfully cheery voice had Naina breaking out of her reverie.
She narrowed her eyes at Bhavya, how come this stranger got special treatment, her mind huffed.
His eyes stare at her keenly, before moving on to Bhavya, "I'd like an extra whipped latte to go, please."
Ah, what an angelic voice, suits his appearance, her mind was going ballistic.
The whirring sounds of the coffee maker is all that is heard for a while.

Her thoughts take a different turn as he proceeds to sit in the stool on the far left of the counter. Her mind going back to the conversation from before, it sticks to the part where she called her scars masterpieces. Were they worthy enough to be called art? The continuous marrings on her skin did seem to make a sort of contemporary art, but a masterpiece? Why did she say that? What did this mean.
As she momentarily got lost in her neverending thoughts, her cup is set onto the slab and she gets up. Out of nowhere, her feet slip under something wet and she falls backward, her left shoulder colliding with the sharp edge of the counter. She stumbled as she attempted to balance while simultaneously holding her hurt shoulder to soothe the pain.
"You alright, miss?" It's that stranger again..
"I..I...um-ye...ah" She manages to utter out.

The stranger smiles encouragingly at her showing off his cute dimples, as he helps her up. His sea green eyes spark up a bit with an emotion she fails to recognize,
"Your eyes have a rare brilliance."
She stares, askance, what?
"I mean, the colour. When you stand in the light, they appear like molten gold. They remind me of..." He reached towards her but then pulled back.
"I.. um.. thank you." She replied flustered beyond belief.
"I.. uh..." His phone rang all of a sudden, the lyrics of one day came abruptly.
""I'm sorry for being so forward, but I believe we will see each other again." He said switching off his phone and sliding it in his jeans pocket.
"Good day, ma'am." he says putting on a hidden smile raising his arm for a handshake while looking into her eyes. He smiles at her again and laces her finger with him, she freezes up and snatches her hand away not acknowledging the warm sensation that rose through her body as their skins made contact.

"Good day, sir." She replies in haste, her eyes staring at the floor with an unknown intensity.
"See you soon, Naina." She jerks as she hears her name, how did he...

But before she could say anything, he was already out the door, the doorbell chimes once again making her wonder what just happened.

But no matter what, a smile making it's way down her lips, almost reached her eyes. A smile so rare was probably enough, to make the stars come alive.
