Parker's POV

I wake up the next day feeling a body in my arms. I slowly open my eyes and see that it's Val. Then I remember that we fell asleep last night while watching a movie.

I look at the clock beside me and see that it's noon. Wow. We really slept in.

I look at her peacefully sleeping face and almost wish I didn't have to wake her up. But, if we're planning on doing anything today, we've gotta be awake.

I rotate my body slightly and kiss her on the forehead to wake her up. She slowly blinks her eyes open and smiles. Then she looks in my eyes and we both blush.

"Good morning," she says shyly.

"Good morning."

We continue to stare at each other for a second before our door opens up slowly and Crystal peaks her head in. I roll my eyes on instinct and then give Val an apologetic look for being mean.

"Hey guys, hope I'm not interrupting anything. Val, are you ready to go skateboarding together?" Crystal asks.

"Skateboarding? How?" I ask.

"When Crystal and I were making plans for revenge, we passed by a skate park that's inside the biodome! We asked about it and they said that they don't make it known to the inhabitants because then that's all we'd be doing instead of science but if we discover it, we're more than welcome to skateboard there," Val explains.

"That's awesome!" 

"So should I come back when you're ready?" Crystal interrupts.

"Yeah. Parker, you wanna come?" 

As much as I don't want to spend a day with Crystal, I really want to spend another day with Val. And I guess Crystal is Val's friend now so I should try to be nicer to her.

"Of course," I smile.

Crystal leaves our door and Val and I get ready to go skateboarding.

When we all arrive there, I'm astonished. It's a whole skate park! Equipped with everything we need (since they correctly assumed we wouldn't bring any of our skateboard stuff here) and a half pipe and everything!

"I've gotta go to the bathroom really quickly," my mouth says before my mind processes it.

"Sure, go ahead," Val responds.

After using the bathroom, I walk back over to where the girls are putting on their knee pads and stuff. The bathrooms are behind the bench so they don't see me coming.

"No! Please just listen to me," Crystal says in a panicky voice while grabbing Val's shoulders.

Val laughs for a little before saying, "What? Stop being so serious."

"I think... I think I might like someone new..." Crystal trails off. I've gotta hear this!

"You mean besides Parker? Thank God," Val jokes. "So who is it? Ben? Kayden?"

Crystal looks down and pauses for a long time. In that time, Val's face goes very serious. "Crystal. Who is it?" she whispers.

"I think... it's you."

My heart stops, having realized I just eavesdropped on something I wasn't supposed to be listening in on.

"Me? What?" 

"You remember how I kissed you when we were messing with Jeremiah?"

"Yeah."

"I think I enjoyed that a lot more than I should've," Crystal says guiltily.

Val pauses, thinking. "Crystal, you don't have to feel bad. I'm not gonna stop being your friend but I'm sorry. I'm straight."

Crystal looks down, "I know."

For some reason, my feet decide this would be the right time to announce my presence. I walk towards them and around the bench. Crystal's eyes widen when she sees me.

"I'm so so sorry. I shouldn't have been eavesdropping but I just wanted to hear who you like," I try to explain.

"No, it's ok. I would understand if you're mad at me. First I like you, then I like your girlfriend..."

"No no. It's ok. Really," I wave my hands frantically trying to emphasize my point.

We all sit there for a long while in awkward silence before Crystal speaks up, "Well I guess I've just made things awkward. I'm gonna go now. You two enjoy the day together."

"No, Crystal, wait!" Val calls out while outstretching her arm but it's too late. Crystal is already out the door.

"I feel terrible," Val says while rubbing her face.

I sit down next to her and put my arm around her, "Me too. But don't worry. I know we can fix this."
