Chapter 9

___________Levi's POV____________
It was about five minutes later, when Petra, Gunther, and Auruo had returned from the infirmary.
"So, are you gonna tell us what the fuck just happened, or not?" I hissed.
"Yes, just calm down." Erwin says.
I click my tongue in annoyance.
"All of you are probably wondering what just happened, right?" Erwin asks, and everyone nods in agreement.
"I made a promise not to repeat what (F/N) had told me, but given the circumstances, it can't be helped." He said as he folded his hands on the table.
"You see (F/N) was-" he was about to start, but was interrupted by the sound of the doors to the mess hall opening and closing.
Everyone then turned their attention to see (F/N) standing there.
She then calmly walks over, and picks up the chalkboard she left behind, and wrote something down, before handing it to Erwin.
"I understand." Was all Erwin said, before she wrote something down and placed it on the table for us to read.
'I am going to be taking over where Erwin left off. I mean its better to hear it from the person themselves, right?'
I clicked my tongue as I say "Just start explaining already."
She nods her head as she wrote something down, and placing it on the table.
'Back in my world, when I was in the military, I was an experiment.'
"Experiment for what?" Eld asks.
'To become the perfect soldier, and I was the perfect candidate. The reason is that I was dropped off in an orphanage when I was only two days old, and as I grew up, I was never adopted, so after having completed high school, I wanted to go to college to expand my knowledge of art, but unfortunately I couldn't pay for the costs. So, I joined the military, hoping that they would pay for my tuition, and I was a good soldier, I would follow orders, complete training the way it was suppose to be done, so on and so forth. But, one day, a few men in lab coats came and said that they wanted me to try out a new serum that would enhance the human body, and since I was in excellent health at the time, I took up the offer, thinking nothing of it. But, that was when everything changed.'
She ran out of space, so she quickly erased it before continuing.
'I was strapped to a chair, as they began filling a needle with a weird looking serum. Now, I can only remember bits and pieces, once they injected me, but I can remember clearly the pain I felt when the serum entered my system. It was an unbearable pain. It felt as if your insides were on fire, and every second that past, it spread throughout your body, getting worse and worse by the second. I somehow managed to survive, but at a cost.'
She stopped writing then.
"What was the cost?" Eren asked, almost barely a whisper.
She erased her writing as she continued.
'The cost was my humanity. I was no longer myself. I was a puppet, waiting for orders by the higher ups. Turns out, whenever a certain word is said, the serum would take over my body. It would kill off my pain receptors, so that if I lost an arm I wouldn't feel it, and I would continue to fight. But, that wasn't the only thing it killed. It also kills off the part of the brain that makes you feel emotions, so that I wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone in my path. I was no longer human. I was a machine. A human weapon that was to be used to win a war. But, one day, I was assigned to a squad, after about a year, I slowly began to become human again. I was able to have emotions once more, but then something happened.'
(F/N) stopped writing then.
"What happened?" Petra asked cautiously.
(F/N) wrote something down, and set it on the table.
'I would rather not mention it, I have given you a sufficient amount of information that explained what happened, so I'd rather stop there.'
Everyone stayed silent, not arguing with the woman as she got up, grabbing her chalkboard in the process, and walked out.
Erwin sighed as he got up to leave.
"What is it?" I asked, raising am eyebrow.
"Nothing, just thinking about the rest of the story." Erwin said as he got up, and left.
"I feel bad for (F/N)." Eld says.
"What do you mean by that?" Eren asks.
"Think about it, (F/N) never had any sort of family, and by the sounds of it, friends for that matter, and when she joins the military in order to pay for her education, she is subjected to an experiment she had no knowledge about, and when she finally gets out of the military in order to follow her own dreams, she is forced into another world, where we then force her to join, or wind up as another experiment. Not to mention, that she was just forced to tell us about a past she would rather not mention." Gunther says as he crosses his arms.
"Yeah, if that were me, I wouldn't be able to handle all that pressure. But, she still has the strength to move on, and keep smiling, looking on the bright side of things. She really is strong." Petra says, with a hint of pity in her voice.
I click my tongue as I got up from my chair, and began to make my way towards the door.
"Where are you going, captain?" Eren calls out.
"My office." I reply bluntly, as I walk out, unaware of the smirking people that I just left behind.
I make my way towards (F/N)'s room, but when I knock, no one answers.
After knocking once again, and no one answers, I open the door, and walk in.
Only to be greeted by an empty room.
'Tch, where the hell is that brat?' I think as I walk around the corridors, trying to find her. But, a thought came to mind, and I began to make my way outside.
Once outside, I began walking towards the stables, and there she was.
Sitting with her back turned towards me, her knees were brought up to her chest as her arms are securely wrapped around them, while her head rests on her knees.
I quietly walk up behind her, and turned around and sat down, so that my back was against hers.
I feel her stiffen at this action, but she doesn't do anything to push me away.
After a few minutes of silence, I hear her write something on her chalkboard, before sliding it behind her, not once moving from her position.
And what I read, shocked me.
