"So... are you coming over tonight?" Jungkook asks as the bell signals the end of class. "My parents aren't home." Jungkook needed to emphasise the last part, wanting more from their bathroom getaway.

Taehyung's eyes light up but then stall. "Actually... I just realised I'm busy tonight..." He says, looking away from Jungkook.

"But didn't you say you were coming this morning?"

"Something came up."

"What is it?" Jungkook's stomach starts to turn in on itself, hating that he won't be having Taehyung to himself tonight. Did he do something wrong?

"I'll tell you another time," Taehyung says while he gathers his belongings quickly. "I have to go; I'm going to be late."

Jungkook furrows his brows. Why isn't Taehyung telling him where he's off to? Why didn't he know before? He watches Taehyung rush off. What does he mean by another time?

💌

All Taehyung wants is to be with Jungkook, but he can't miss an opportunity like this. It's all for the better, and there's something he plans that needs the extra pocket money.

Yoongi set Taehyung up for a trial shift at a restaurant he works at. It came up out of the blue in detention today because he was late for class—due to having a little too much fun with Jungkook.

"Oi, you need a job?" Yoongi asked.

Yoongi's excuse was that the restaurant needed more attractive servers to bring customers in—which begs to question, does Yoongi find Taehyung conveniently attractive? It makes him giggle thinking about it.

Taehyung hopes to get the job. He fantasised all class about surprising Jungkook with a dinner with his first pay which is why he doesn't want Jungkook to know—it's only a week that he has to hide it.

Seeing the look on Jungkook's face when he turned down his offer to come over makes Taehyung almost give up on his plan. But no, he will stay strong. Jungkook's face when he surprises him will be worth it.

💌

Jungkook lounges on his bed, scrolling through all the messages he sent to Taehyung that have not been opened for hours. He's still thinking over all the possible things he could have been stood up for. Why would Taehyung say no to an empty house? Even before they started finding the hots for each other, it was always a celebration to have the place themselves.

They would have movie marathons in the lounge room in their makeshift fortress made of sheets. They would blast music as loud as possible. Eat as much junk as their heart's content.

He almost gives up, but in the spur of the moment, he has an idea. Maybe he'll send a few suggestive photos to get his attention. He sits on his bed, pulls down on his shirt so half of his shoulder is showing along with his collarbone, and then bites down on his lip.

*snaps*

Jungkook:

Come mark me

He sends the photo and starts to giggle.

Jungkook:

I'm feeling needy

He cringes, but it works.

Taehyung:

Jungkook!

Taehyung:

You can't send things like that while I'm out 😭

Out? Is he still out at this time? What could he possibly be hiding from Jungkook?

Jungkook:

So are you coming? Or should I...

Jungkook smirks.

Jungkook:

Invite someone else over?

Jungkook waits and waits. Has he been left on read? That bitch.

Five minutes go by, and Jungkook is about to send another desperate attempt but is interrupted by a phone call.

💌

Stressed is what Taehyung is right now. He underestimated how hard it is to take orders, carry plates, clear tables and wash dishes, all while looking happy doing it. He hopes the sweat he feels on his back isn't showing through his white button-up shirt. What makes every task harder is the fact his mind is somewhere completely far away from the restaurant. He can feel his phone vibrate over and over again in his pocket—it must be Jungkook. He wants to look at the messages, but it will be a bad look—especially since this is his trial shift.

Taehyung puts on his best smile and powers through, hoping the manager can see that he's worth hiring. Yoongi did, however, tell him he probably already got the job by showing her his Instagram. All photos were taken by Jungkook—he does know how to make Taehyung look good.

"Taehyung, table 12 wants to order," Yoongi calls out. "Do you not hear the buzzer?"

"S-Sorry," Taehyung apologises, dashing off to table 12. He wishes Yoongi could be a little less blunt and more encouraging. His mind is a scramble. How does Yoongi make it look easy?

Sometimes he would observe how Yoongi conducts himself in front of customers, and it baffles Taehyung that he can switch into service mode instantly like he's a completely different person—he even has a different voice.

After another hour, Taehyung is exhausted and even more curious about the messages. He makes an excuse to go to the toilet—a quick look won't hurt. Besides, he needs a short break.

Once he's in the toilet, he opens his phone. In shock, he nearly drops his phone into the toilet. Jungkook has sent him a photo of his collarbone, the accompanying message being, come mark me

He quickly replies, already self-conscious over how long he's been gone.

Jungkook:

So are you coming? Or should I...

Taehyung mentally cries, wanting to do so badly, but he still has an hour left. He thinks he might pop over after the shift, but it could be too late. Then again, how can he pass up spending a night with Jungkook without parent supervision? It's better than nothing, even if it's just a short time. He's already kicking himself for having to pass up on it, but it's all for good measure. This job will help both of them.

Jungkook:

Invite someone else over?

Oh, hell no. That is not happening. He has to put a stop to this. Jungkook ain't inviting anyone over, looking needy like that. Who can Jungkook invite over anyway? Jimin? Absolutely not. He needs to keep an eye on Jimin.

Taehyung:

I'll be there. Just wait one more hour

Jungkook:

I can't... I need someone now.

Who has possessed this boy to act this way? Taehyung refrains from pulling at his hair—he has to remind himself where he is and act professionally.

Taehyung:

Please. I promise to make it up to you.

Jungkook:

I'm waiting

Taehyung fist pumps towards his chest in victory, quickly putting his phone into his pocket. He leaves, not regretting using his toilet break to text Jungkook rather than use the toilet. All he has to do now is get through the night.

💌

Jungkook paces back and forth. It's been more than an hour—he's going crazy waiting. He checks how he looks in his phone camera for what is probably the fiftieth time tonight. He's never felt this nervous to see Taehyung before.

The doorbell rings.

Jungkook counts to ten, looking at his reflection again. He doesn't want Taehyung to know he waited at the door for over an hour—pathetic, he knows.

He opens the door.

"Jungkook," Taehyung says, smiling softly.

Jungkook stands in the doorway, biting the side of his lip.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Taehyung goes in for the hug, embracing Jungkook tightly. Jungkook's muscles loosen up, giving in to Taehyung, relieved that the wait is over.

"Where did you go?" Jungkook asks. He takes in Taehyung's scent. "You smell nice."

Taehyung chuckles. "Thanks. I was having dinner with my uncle." He pats the back of Jungkook's head.

"Why didn't you say so before." Jungkook pouts.

They move out from the doorway, closing the door behind them. Taehyung kisses Jungkook's pout away and leads him to the couch, where they fall into each other. He becomes needier with each kiss but stops when Taehyung becomes unresponsive.

Jungkook pulls away, and Taehyung slumps back onto the couch, eyes closed.

"Taehyung?" Jungkook pokes Taehyung's cheek. Is he asleep? Jungkook further inspects, and yes, Taehyung is surely asleep. "Your uncle tired you out that much, huh?" He shakes his head, smiling. He can't even be mad because Taehyung looks so adorable sleeping.

Jungkook grabs a blanket and tucks Taehyung in, letting the boy sleep. He waited all this time just for this. He can't help but be sad when he slides into bed alone.

A.N: I started adding little bits of Taehyung's point of view. I hope everyone has been enjoying~
