Jungkook is in his room playing around with the handcuffs he was given. How do people find stuff like this? He twirls them around his finger. Jungkook finds the idea of being cuffed kind of... interesting, to say the least.

He clicks one side onto his left wrist and the other onto his right before realising that he just locked himself in. "Fuck," Jungkook curses.

He rummages around the room, looking for the provided key and being the clumsy idiot he is, he trips.

His mother opens the door. "Jungkook, dinner is rea—" his mother looks down at Jungkook on the floor. His ass is in the air, and his head is down. His arms are above his head, exposing his cuffed wrists.

"Well, I will let you come down at your own pace..." she slowly retracts, closing the door.

He can't believe what just happened. His cheeks are flushed, and he has a sudden urge to neck himself because he can't handle the embarrassment. He crawls to his backpack, pulling out the key. Instant relief. He tries to unlock the handcuffs, but the problem is, is it even possible to do so while being cuffed? Spoiler, it isn't—he can't reach.

Jungkook sighs. There is only one option... He stays here for the rest of eternity and dies cuffed.

"Jungkook," he hears his mum call out.

If only Taehyung were here to save him.

"Taehyung is here for dinner!" She calls out again.

He takes that back. Who the hell invited Taehyung? Taehyung can't see him like this. Why didn't he get a message? He looks over to his phone, which dings with a new message. There are at least four other text messages, all from Taehyung. Fuck.

He hears a knock on the door. "Don't come in," Jungkook warns.

"Why not?" Taehyung asks from the other door.

"I... I'm getting changed!"

"So, you're naked?"

"Yes. Butt naked!"

The door opens.

"No!" Jungkook screams, hiding his cuffed wrists.

"Oh. Damn," Taehyung says, sounding disappointed. "I thought you were changing?"

"Don't come any closer!" Jungkook warns, crouching down.

"What happened?" Taehyung asks, his voice sounding more worried than disappointed now. "Are you hurt?"

Jungkook ignores him, refusing to move. Instead, Taehyung pulls him up. Jungkook closes his eyes, thinking the embarrassment will be less if he can't see Taehyung's face. There's an awkward silence before Taehyung bursts into laughter.

"Shut up!" Jungkook starts to struggle in Taehyung's arms. "Let me out of these. Now."

"I'm not even going to ask," Taehyung says, still laughing. "But like, why are you in handcuffs?"

Jungkook snickers. "You said you weren't going to ask."

Taehyung continues to laugh, making Jungkook want to sink into the ground.

"I-It's for my Halloween costume," Jungkook lies.

"Halloween is still like forever away," Taehyung says, grabbing the key that Jungkook tossed onto the ground. "Are you cosplaying as a criminal? Or a sexy cop?"

Jungkook has had it. "Unlock me! And why the hell did you come in the moment I said I was naked?!"

Taehyung flinches.

Now Jungkook feels bad for snapping. Stupid annoying handsome face. It's even more annoying when it looks sad. Jungkook groans. "Sorry. Just— here." Jungkook puts his hands up for Taehyung. "Unlock me, please," he says in a much nicer tone.

Taehyung grins. "Yes, master."

Jungkook's features harden, feeling stupid for caving into one of Taehyung's tricks.

💌

The dinner table is ever so entertaining for Taehyung. Jungkook hates the fact that Taehyung finds enjoyment in Jungkook's suffering. How many times does Jungkook's mum have to bring up embarrassing moments from his childhood? Is it really needed? However, things took a turn when Jungkook's father brought up the double date.

"Eunji? Is that the girl's name?" Jungkook's father asks, crossing his arms with a proud smile. "Invite her over."

Jungkook facepalms before whisper yelling into Taehyung's ear, "why the hell did you tell him the name."

Now all he will hear for the next year is 'how's Eunji' 'bring that Eunji girl over', etc.

Taehyung shrugs Jungkook off with a cheeky smile.

Fine. Two can play at that game. "Naeun is the girl Taehyung likes," Jungkook spitefully says.

"Naeun?" Jungkook's dad turns to look at Taehyung. "My two boys are growing up. Bring them both over."

Jungkook's mother watches on the side, her eyes flipping between Jungkook and Taehyung.

"Yeah, Taehyung. You should bring Naeun over." Jungkook smirks at Taehyung, whose eyes widen back at him. Jungkook wants to see how Taehyung will weasel his way out of this one. Knowing how hard it was to get Taehyung out on that date makes Jungkook think there is no way on earth he would even consider inviting Naeun over to meet Jungkook's parents. "You should see her, dad. She's the prettiest girl in the entire school."

Jungkook's father smiles even wider.

"Well... Uh—" Taehyung bites down on his bottom lip, looking nervous. The first thing that goes through Jungkook's mind is cute, but that thought is kicked out as fast as you can say WHAT?

Jungkook watches in horror as Taehyung nods, agreeing to Jungkook and Jungkook's dad's offer.

"I'll bring her over," Taehyung plainly says, nodding his head with a grin. He looks to Jungkook and winks.

Fuck you, Kim Taehyung.

Nothing screams home than being in his bedroom with the man he secretly wants to bone—oh wait, not anymore. He almost forgot about the current situation that's arising.

"Can we sleep in the same bed again?" Taehyung asks, pulling a cute face at Jungkook.

"No." Jungkook is still pissed that Taehyung invited Naeun over to his place. He thought it would end there, but no, Taehyung went through with it and messaged Naeun—since when did they have each other's number?

"Aww, why not?" Taehyung whines. He pulls Jungkook into a back hug, whispering into his ear, "You know I can't sleep in that other room."

Jungkook unintentionally relaxes into Taehyung's hold. "Yeah, yeah. You say it's haunted or whatever. Why don't you go sleep at Naeun's instead?"

Taehyung lets go of Jungkook, crossing his arms. Jungkook turns, mimicking Taehyung's stance.

"Is that what this is about?" Taehyung asks. "Are you jealous?"

Jungkook laughs. "Jealous? Don't make me laugh." Jungkook isn't jealous. He just doesn't like the idea of Naeun strutting her little legs back into his life so soon. He can't take the invite back either because Jungkook is the one—along with his father—that penned the idea to begin with.

What is she going to do here anyway? Drink tea with Jungkook's mum? Play mahjong with his father? What is Taehyung trying to prove with all of this? Jungkook thought Taehyung wanted nothing to do with Naeun—a thing Jungkook thought they had in common.

Taehyung clicks his tongue. "Well, if that's the case, maybe I should—"

"No." Jungkook sits on the bed, looking at his feet. He mumbles the next words, almost swallowing them before they come out. "Stay."

Taehyung relaxes his shoulders, smiling with a sigh. "Sorry, I didn't quite hear that. Can you say it again?"

Jungkook scoffs, burrowing into the bed, back facing Taehyung—he doesn't want Taehyung looking at his now blushing cheeks. He made a whole scene over this only to look pathetic, begging Taehyung to stay.

Taehyung crawls onto the bed, spooning Jungkook from behind. "I think I heard stay."

Jungkook doesn't reply.

"Well, if you insist," Taehyung cheerfully says, pulling Jungkook closer.

"Friends don't spoon," Jungkook blurts out.

"Who says?"

"Mum."

"Well, we're just special friends."

Special friends...

"Then what is Naeun?" Jungkook asks.

"No one."

Jungkook smiles wide and free, knowing nothing but his bedroom wall can see, and he will never ever admit out loud how happy hearing those words make him.
