VIII

I wondered through the whole town and I have yet to see this massive uprising of heartless. I shrugged and checked the hill on the outskirts of the town to see if that was possibly the gathering place of all the heartless, as I round the corner passing through the gates, I didn't a mass of heartless. I encountered another of the members stepping through a dark corridor.   What the...?    "Evening Axel, I'm not here on the accords of the organization, rather I'm here to tell you that you hand has been played for you" The platinum blonde commented as he approached me. I threw him a look of confusion. I've grown accustomed to Luxord's riddles derived from perspective of games but I don't get what he's telling me. "Luxord what do you mean, for once, use English and not riddle." I said folding my arms . He sighed," Well my comrade, they gave Xigbar your mission for the day." He said walking past me drawing forth another corridor.   No...    I conjured my own to Twilight Town.    No no no no no, please tell me they aren't about to do what I think they are     When I stepped through the corridor, I found myself in the upstairs living quarters of (y/n)'s shop. I could hear Xigbar's voice outside the shop, I rushed to the only window and watched as he seemed to coax (Y/n) into drawing out her keyblade to fight off his summoned Sniper Nobodies. I watched as she began to fight and Xigbar take aim at a few purposely missing them. Then I see it. He shoots her with a BLizzard, freezing her, she falls and her keyblade falls beside her. He picks up her fallen weapon and stands over her, then plunges her own keyblade into her chest, realizing her heart. Her memories. Everything that made (Y/n), (y/n). "NOOOO (Y/N)" I screamed as she went limp.    No, s-she's gone.... She won't know me, herself, or all the good things she has anymore... it's all gone.......     Xigbar picked up (y/n)'s limp, defrosting body, and tossing her over his shoulder before slipping through a dark corridor, assuming back to The Castle That Never Was. I slammed my fists on the windowpane as I felt hot tears stinging the corners of my eyes.    This is my fault. I should've just said we needed her but no, I wanted to keep her friendship and away from the organization. Now she's gone because of me       I calmed down before I decided it was time to return to the castle. I portalled straight to my room, I didn't even let Saix know I had returned. I laid back on my bed and stared out the window to the heart shaped moon that always loomed above in the skies over The World That Never Was. I did nothing but think about what I could've done to help (y/n), but my thoughts were interrupted by a knock at my door. At first, I didn't answer, but after another series of knocks, a voice finally spoke up," Axel, I know you are in there. Lord Xemnas has requested that all remaining members of the organization must meet in the great hall." I could make out it was Saix, I knew what the meeting had to be over, and I just didn't want to go. I couldn't look at her and know somehow, it was my fault she became a Nobody. I sighed and sat up on my bed   I have to face it at some point...   I got up and made my way to the great hall, entering to see the same familiar chairs that varied in height based on our ranks. Most of the members that were left were seated by now, I portalled to mine, sitting with my chin resting in my hand. I slightly jumped as Xemnas' booming voice rang through the hall. "Greetings the few loyal members of this great organization. As we know, our task of collecting hearts has been halted for some time after the loss of our keyblade wielder, Number XIII" "Roxas.." I mumbled to myself as Xemnas gestured to his empty chair. No one heard as they were focused on Xemnas' speech. "But now, we have a new member to welcome to our ranks, one who can wield a keyblade and vanquish the dark from the hearts stolen by heartless. Number II, will you escort Number XV in? " I hear the shuffling of footsteps as Xigbar enters the room with a figure, clearly a girl, cloaked in one our cloaks.  (Y/n)...  I didn't move, I just held a face of annoyance as if I were upset Xigbar had done my job for me. "Everyone, this is Number XV, (y/x/n), our new key to the heart." Xemnas said as Xigbar reappeared in his seat leaving (y/n), or should I say (y/x/n) now, to stand unmoving in the center of the circle chairs.   Xemnas had dismissed everyone from the room but myself and (y/x/n). "Axel, as you are familiar with training and mentoring keyblade wielders, as you had done with Number XIII, you will be Number XV's mentor. You will show her the ropes and assist her with missions until further notice, understood?" He instructed with his placed on (y/x/n)'s shoulder. I nodded, "Yeah understood. C'mon (y/x/n), I guess I better show you around the castle huh?" She said nothing to me but stepped closer to my side.  Just say something to me please  I showed her the castle, the members, and where her room was. Roxas' old room. I gave myself a solemn smile as I entered that room, remembering my old friend.

It's kind of funny (y/x/n), you remind me of how he was when he first entered the organization.
