II
"Axel, you're mission as specifically appointed by Xemnas himself. He believes there is another wielder in Twilight Town. And now that we are in such dire need for one, with both of our little wielders gone, he wants this one to replace them. You are to go alone and retrieve this wielder, they do not know that they are a nobody yet and the gender has yet to be known Xemnas." With that, Saix handed me the report and walked away. He could feel the room heating up as my rage began to flare, flurry of dancing flames should have warned him it'd get a little hot pissing me off. The organization suddenly believes that it's my responsibility alone to find a new keyblade wielder since... and it just isn't right. I sighed and conjured a portal to Twilight Town and began my hunt. Seemed like every street I went down, every building I passed, were just reminding me of Roxas and our missions together. We are nobodies Number VIII, we feel nothing so what is there to mourn? Number XIII is a great loss to our cause, I do see that much but we cannot wallow in pity over a lost asset. Now, it is time for you to get back out in the field, we are in need of a new weilder, when one lands on our radar, you will retrieve them. Nobody or not, you will. I could hear Xemnas' words ringing in my head.I felt tears welling up in my eyes, my temperature rising as I felt the pain of losing Roxas melding with the anger at the thought of Xemnas' words, and my fist collided with the wall of a building nearest to me. If we aren't supposed to feel then wht do I feel all this hurt? The rage? The loneliness? "H-Hey, um, are you okay dude?" A small voice piped up behind me. I looked down at my hand, the glove was torn across the knuckle with droplets of blood beginning to collect on the newly torn flesh and answered," Yeah, just dealing with icky jobs.". I didn't look at the source of the voice, until I heard the sound of someone stepping towards me and felt a gentle touch on my arm. Then the voice spoke in a soft whisper, CURAGA, and I felt my hand heal quickly. "It's probably none of my business but sometimes holding in that ickyness just makes it worse, sometimes it helps to have someone to talk to." I looked at the person, well, her more specifically. She was shorter than me, not so much younger though, her eyes were (e/c), (h/l) (h/c) hair, and (s/c) skin. Something about her... "Yeah well, what do you do when the icky job is forgetting the person who was the one you told all your problems to?" She kind of just looked up at me, like she was reading my eyes, then looked down. "Well um... uh... Red, you can't really ever forget someone who means something to you, even if they are gone, we have their memory in our heart. As for what I did when I stood where you are, I found someone new to talk to." She bit her lip as if the thought had still stung, for some reason, I felt the need to make her smile. Maybe it was because she'd healed me without hesitation, I don't know, so I changed the topic. "Hey, I didn't catch your name." She cocked her head and lightly giggled, guess she knew I was trying to change the topic," My name is (y/n), what about you? Or do I just got to keep calling you Red?" Heh... I laughed and told her my name, and we proceeded to talk, me just tagging along as she walked through the town. I found myself thinking less about Roxas and the mission and more on this new girl, she reminded me of something, but I just can't explain it. (y/n) walked ahead of me a little bit, she was talking about her synthesis shop, which is where we are heading, but she stopped and went silent. "Something wrong (y/n)?" She shushed me and pointed ahead to a clearing in the forest of buildings, and there I spotted it. Huge mass of heartless, at least a hundred, were shrunk down in their sulking shadow forms, making the mass move left and right. I lightly pushed her back behind me and stepped forward to take on the heartless, but she quickly, quietly, stepped back ahead of me and cautiously approached the mass. I stood there stunned, What is she thinking, "(y/n) are you crazy?! Those things will destroy you and take your heart!" I whispered yelled, praying I could knock some sense into the girl. But she ignored me, getting close enough to the mass, the tip of her show brushing against the shadowy blob. As if a gun went off, they all sprung up ready for an attack. I came running, yelling, "(y/n) hang on I'm coming!", as I drew forth my chakrams readying myself for the fight. (y/n) dropped down into a fighting stance, a ball of light formed around her hands as she drew forth her weapon. A keyblade. I stopped running and watched as she lurched forward, skillfully and elegantly dispatching all of the heartless before her.I found the wielder, well, she found me, mission accomplished. She stood up and continued to walk to her shop as the keyblade faded into a white light. "Wow (y/n), you didn't tell me that you were a key blade wielder." She kind of froze in front of me. "Axel, it's not something I freely talk about, not anymore..." She grabbed her other arm as she kept walking.Huh, maybe it's part of her past? I shrugged as caught up to as we neared a synthesis shop. It wasn't too big but not too small either. She unlocked the door and we entered the shop. A few boxes of newly synthesized items were sitting on the main counter. She showed me about her shop, and as we came back to the entrance she sat on the counter and gestured for me to sit a chair near a work bench. "Alright Axel, it seems I've lifted your spirits, but I think it's time you tell me your story. I know it may hurt but that's the only way it'll get better." I looked at her, I was mixed with emotion, but I spilled it all out, tears fell down. Nobodies can't feel anything... She came down off the counter and grabbed the sides of my face, not out of affection but compassion. I raised my head as she looked into my eyes and gave me a soft smile and wiped away some stray tears. I thought to myself, way to be a man Axel, letting her reverse the roles, and lightly chuckled. "What is it Axel?" (y/n) said with a widening smile. How could somebody say that a nobody can't feel anything when she keeps, they kept, making me smile? "It's nothing (y/n), I was just thinking about what someone told me once that now suddenly doesn't make any sense to me." She looked at me lightly cocking her head with stray strands falling at the sides, cute, almost like a puppy, I chuckled some more at my thoughts and then a ticking clock caught my eye, I've been gone too long.... "(y/n), hate to have to run, but my boss is probably wondering where I am." I say as I stand up conjuring a dark corridor. "Boss? Um, okay Axel but you're going to tell me about your job next time we meet." I laughed, "If you don't forget." She laughed too," How can I? I always got my friends memorized." She says as she taps her head much like I do. I smiled and walked through the corridor, leaving (y/n) to watch as it faded away.
