How to Protect your Booty
Yes, I know the title is dumb. Yes, I know I'm a 5 year old. Yes, I still laugh at that stuff.
"Boom, baby! Two badges!" Lloyd yelled, throwing his fist in the air. He showed off the two shiny badges that were hung on the inside of his green jacket as Candy cheered on his shoulder, licking his cheek.
"Those trainers were quite tough," Zane said behind them. "It's a good thing Klinklang was there to help you," he gestured at the gear-shaped Pokemon walking beside him.
"Yeah, it really helped with Chen's fairy types. Violet was still hard though."
Just as they came to a halt, they bumped into someone. "Told you that chick was crazy," said Cole, taking a sip from his soda. He reached his hand to pet the Corviknight that was holding hanging onto the taxi behind them. "Well, both of them are."
Kai crossed his arms. "His daughter was hot," he mumbled under his breath.
"More like hot-headed," Cole shot back, "a perfect fit for you."
"Keep talking and you'll be hyper-beamed, boulder-head," he reached into his pocket, ready to grab his Pokeball.
After some long, uncomfortable moments of intense silence, Zane spoke up, stepping between them. "Where are Jay and Nya? They didn't get lost in the storm before, did they?"
"Let's just say they're having a good time," Cole raised his eyebrows as his lips curved into a smirk. Gesturing at the PokeCenter right behind the corner, they all looked around to see Jay and Nya talking in front of the door. Nya was holding a Lanturn on one hand, while her other was intertwined with Jay's. Jay, meanwhile, touched a Pokeball on the Pokemon's head with his free hand as they watched it go back into its red and yellow Pokeball.
Once they noticed them, she grabbed his hand and led him to the others a little quicker than he would like. His eyes widened just from seeing Kai's face.
"Do I even want to know?" said Lloyd as Zane and Cole gave them a thumbs-up and smiled.
"Nope," Nya said, "I see you've got more badges."
"I do indeed," Lloyd smirked, showing them off again.
Zane pulled out his phone from his pocket, letting the map hologram project onto the air. "Stiix ought to be our next destination."
Jay popped in. "Huh? Who's that?"
"Nadakhan, remember?" Nya looked up at him and smiled. As much as he wanted to focus on her smile, he couldn't help but furrow his brows at the thought of him being near Nya. He hadn't talked to him many times, but the times he did, it was because he was interrupting his conversation with the girl of his dreams.
Lloyd cleared his throat, putting Candy back in her Pokeball. "We can't all fit inside the taxi. Me and Zane will have to ride on Corviknight."
"I wouldn't mind that," Zane smiled, "in fact, I think it could be a very pleasurable experience—"
"Okay, dictionary, up you go," Kai helped him up as Lloyd sat behind him.
After putting all their Pokemon back in their Pokeballs, the rest went inside the carriage as they flew off. Jay and Nya, of course, sat next to each other as Kai and Cole plopped down on the other side.
"What are you two whispering about?" Kai raised a brow, crossing his arms. The two teens looked up at him, Nya still trying to keep herself from bursting out laughing. Jay was giggling as well.
He waved his hand dismissively. "You wouldn't understand."
Before he could murder them with his glare, Cole placed a hand on his shoulder, smirking. "You're just jealous cause she got a boyfriend before you."
"No I'm not!" he said a little too loudly. "I was just too busy with battling to ask Skylor out."
"You weren't battling; Lloyd was."
"Shut it."
After a long, uncomfortable ride, they could feel the air become dirtier by the second; they knew they had arrived. They frowned seeing the muddy water surrounding the polluted city, which was basically one big harbour. Landing right on one of the docks, in front of a large pirate ship, they knew exactly where they were.
As they all got down from the taxi and Corviknight respectively, they looked around to spot any signs of Nadakhan lurking around.
Lloyd spotted a figure by the docks, looking at the ship intensely. His pale, almost green skin almost blended in with the polluted environment as his black hair was decorated with a single green streak. His clothes were torn like a pirate's.
When the others weren't looking, Lloyd approached him. He was a tad taller and older than him, he looked to be in his early twenties.
"Hey, do you know where the Gym Leader is?" he asked him, but all he got was a glare in return.
Suddenly, they heard cackling from the ship. The door burst open as a trainer was thrown onto the docks by a moustached man.
"That's what ya get for disrespecting our Captain!" he laughed mockingly, dusting his hands off on each other.
But when Lloyd looked back at him, he was gone. He was forced to join his friends as they greeted the pirates.
He watched as another man came towards them. He was quite buff, wearing only a sleeveless green jacket above his chest as his black hair was tied into a thick, long ponytail.
His arms were crossed, but his expression turned smug once he saw them. Though, in the end, he completely ignored them all instead of one.
"Nya, it's been a while since ya came by for a visit," he said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. "I see you brought some friends with ya..." he looked at them up and down, a tad more closely at the jealous Jay beside them.
She awkwardly pushed his hand away. "Yeah... Lloyd's here for the badge."
He finally glanced at Lloyd. "Come in, then," he said, dangling with the round necklace wrapped around his neck.
Leading them all inside, they squeezed through the ship's tight hallways until they got to the deck. The arena, which had pirates cheering all around it, was basically like a boxing ring. It was hard to describe the feeling, but the atmosphere was eerily creepy in his eyes.
The pirate made his way towards the chest, which only had two Pokeballs in it, much to their surprise. He slammed them both to the ground and out came two Pokemon.
The first one, which they soon recognised as a Grookey, was a small, green and brown monkey that held a stick in its hand. It looked happy to be there, despite his owner having a completely different mood.
The second one, though, that took them by surprise. It was a Legendary Pokemon. It was an orange, muscular and humanoid Pokémon that resembled a genie. On its forehead were three, sharp horns that were facing towards the sky. It had striking yellow eyes, a white mustache, as well as pink, darker marks and gems all over its body. It floated on a cloud and its arms were crossed as he looked down at them all.
"You have a Landorus?" Lloyd gasped.
Nadakhan ignored his words. "Now, would you prefer a Pokemon battle," he looked at him, "or a brawl?" he said, turning his head towards Jay with a smirk.
Before he could snap at him, Lloyd cut in. "I'll take the Pokemon battle."
In an instant, his Pokemon nodded its head, and suddenly the two trainers were in another dimension. They were on a large battlefield, though the environment around them had a weird green aura to it. The others were nowhere to be seen.
Lloyd pulled out his now evolved Serperior as he kept Candy beside him. He watched as his now slender, snake-like body slithered across the ground, its red eyes showing its fury as it got ready to attack.
"Come on, Cinq," he told him, "Leaf Blade!"
The Pokemon shot sharp, leaf-like blades from its body, barely hitting the Grookey as he dodged it.
"Scratch," Nadakhan said and Grookey managed to attack just in time.
Just as Lloyd watched his Pokemon's health lower, he got an idea. "Aerial Ace!" he ordered.
Suddenly Cinq jumped into the air, swinging his tail sharply as he scratched the Grookey, making it fall to the ground. "Giga Drain!" he was quick to say before Nadakhan could get a word in.
A beam charged from the snake's mouth as his health was restored, taking out the final remains of Grookey's. As the happy monkey kneeled down and fell face-first onto the ground, he returned to his Pokeball.
"Clever boy," the pirate said, "let's see how you will deal with this."
Lloyd let out a shaky breath as he called Cinq back and switched to Candy. Landorus was getting ready to attack, and so was he.
"Hammer arm," Nadakhan demanded.
He wasn't able to dodge it. Candy was already below half health.
"Tackle—"
"Earthquake," Nadakhan cut him off and the ground started to shake beneath them. That wasn't supposed to happen...
As they tried to dodge the cracking ground, Nadakhan wasn't lucky either; he fell to the ground, but before he could get up, the ground shook again. The necklace suddenly snapped off his neck, ready to fall into the abyss through one of the cracks.
"Candy!" Lloyd gestured at the necklace. The Pokemon nodded, jumping over the cracks and quickly grabbing the necklace. She sprinted towards the pirate, still holding the jewelry in her mouth. She handed it to him and shook her tail.
Suddenly, his face softened. He looked at Landorus, nodding. His Pokemon nodded back and suddenly, they were all back at the deck.
His friends rushed to him as he fell to the ground with Candy on his lap. They all looked at Nadakhan curiously.
"Thank you. I don't know what I would've done without that necklace," he sighed, pulling something out of his jacket's pocket. "You deserve this badge."
Lloyd took it with a frown, not like he was going to complain or anything.
Nadakhan looked at the mustached man from before and nodded. He pulled out something from his own jacket; this time it was a Pokeball.
"I think you deserve this as well," he handed it to him. "It was her favourite."
They all looked at each other. Lloyd looked down at the Pokeball, confused but satisfied.
Maybe pirates can be nice.
