Ch.27

The first thing Shinsa did upon entering the infirmary, was ripping her hair out from it's bun. The harshness of the action caused the now slightly wavy hair to flow in an wild mess.

The Uchiha ran her fingers through her once white hair( which was now gray from its dampness), in an attempt to tame the chaotic mane. Once it was somewhat presentable, she removed her slim fingers from messing with it.

[Lowkey got lazy with this drawing so it ain't the best🙃]

Shinsa Uchiha glared down at the floor, beyond irked. Few things really got to her, but for some reason, Nico Robin poking her nose in her business with her smug smile rubbed the Kunoichi the wrong way.

"I thought Uchiha's were taught to conceal their emotions?" Shinsa's frown deepened even more if possible. The wretched voice in her head only proved to worsen her mood.

Choosing to ignore him, Shinsa stripped from her robe, and ruffled through her bag for undergarments. They were plain black underwear, and over it she put on a simple grayish blue T-shirt, and a pair of charcoal black joggers. She pulled out a brush to slick her hair back into a ponytail.

Once satisfied, the Kunoichi placed on her black gloves, now feeling complete. At first, always wearing them annoyed her, but now she felt naked without them.

There was a knock on the door, and before Shinsa could answer, it started to open up. Her eyes narrowed as she struggled to differentiate the energy source of the person who was responsible for disturbing her mood. After all, the energy of the souls in this world was far different than her own, making it harder for the natural born sensor.

"Excuse me..." the Uchiha resisted the urge to release a sigh upon realizing who it was. Her expression darkened seeing what the person was holding

The blonde cook made his was into the infirmary, after giving up on waiting for a response that was never going to come. "Since you skipped both lunch and dinner, I brought you something to eat."

"I'm not hungry." Shinsa quickly responded, hoping this would cause Sanji to leave, however her attempts were futile. Instead he walked closer to her, and held up the food to her face.

"I doubt that's the truth. You barely ate anything for breakfast, and yesterday you refused to eat at all. Why would you purposely starve yourself when you have all this delicious food in front of you!" This was the first time Sanji raised his voice towards the Uchiha, and she had to admit, she was a little surprised.

Never did he once yell at the females aboard the Thousand Sunny, and that's what he was doing to the newest addition to the crew at the moment.

'There seems to be a reason why he's upset the I'm supposedly starving myself.' Shinsa thought to herself. "I don't know why you don't believe me, but I'm honestly not hungry. I'm trained to go days without eating." She said out loud, trying to get Sanji to leave her alone, and stop pressing the subject, but this seemed to only make matters worse.

"Why would you train to starve yourself?! Are you even listening to the words you're saying-?"

"Why are you making a big deal out of nothing?!" Shinsa snapped, cutting him off. She was already in a bad mood because of Nico Robin, and the Kyuubi, and now that Sanji was nagging her, she was beginning to lose patience. "You want me to eat? Fine! Leave the food and get out of my presence!" The Uchiha was scowling as she said this. She crossed her arms and waited for him to do what she demanded, but unfortunately, Sanji wasn't a fool.

"I'm not leaving until I see you eat every single bite." Anyone could tell that he was firm with this decision.

Staring at the Uchiha before him, Sanji was in a predicament. His gentleman instincts were telling him to listen to the requests of the lady in the room, and his chef instincts were telling him to feed her.

For as long as he's known her(which wasn't all that long. Maybe a month at most.) getting the Uchiha to eat was a struggle. Getting her to eat with the crew was impossible. At one point, she even stated to Usopp that she needed to stay lean and fit as an ANBU, which everyone soon forget. Everyone but Sanji, since he never forgets the words or a lady.

He wanted to ask what she meant by ANBU, but the guarded look she had afterwards made it seem like she let something she wasn't supposed to say slip. And it wasn't only him who noticed that at the moment. Even Zoro, who was already wary of the female, picked up on this.

Without muttering another word, Shinsa grabbed the bowl of food out from Sanji's grasp, sat down on the floor, and proceeded to eat.

Seeing this, Sanji's face lit up into a smile, and he looked satisfied. Feeding those who were hungry always made him happy, especially when it was a lady.

He opened his mouth to ask her if she was enjoying the taste, but stopped himself when his eyes landed on the small nightstand next to the infirmary bed. The cook took a couple of steps forward to get a closer look, and when he felt eyes on him, he looked towards the Kunoichi who was watching his every step.

"Sorry if I'm intruding, but do you mind if I look at those pictures?" Although his face had a polite smile, his mind was racing with excited thoughts of seeing the gorgeous female before him in frames. Maybe he'd find one of her smiling?! Not only was his mind racing, but now his heart was.

"Not at all." Shinsa's response was actually pretty surprising for thr cook. Normally she'd say something like, "if you won't want me to break your fingers, go right ahead," since the girl was against people touching her things, and poking around her business.

And Sanji didn't need to be given permission twice before going right in front of the night stand, and stared down at the picture frames that caught his attention.

As Sanji's eyes widened, he started to reach forward to grab the picture in the center. The one where his angel was smiling beautifully all while holding a child who looked no older than 2.

Just before he  could grab it though, a cold hand gripped his wrist.

"I said you could look, but I never said you could touch them." The cook froze hearing the voice whisper right next to his ear.

'Zoro was right! Even though she's standing so close to me, I can't feel any sort of presence from her!' Sanji thought to himself, staring at the arm on his wrist.

Shinsa finished the food rather quickly since it was a small portion, and she narrowed her eyes when she realized that Sanji was going to grab her precious picture frame. She quietly stood up, and stalked behind him to grab his intruding arm.

"Are you curious as to who they are?" She quietly asked him. The hand that was once holding Sanji's wrist, now was holding the photo frame that held the cooks attention. The sadness hidden deep in her eyes made Sanji hesitate in pursuing his curiosity.

"It's alright Shinsa-Sama! You don't-!"

"Biologically they're my cousins, but I'll always love them as my younger brothers." Shinsa was now standing a couple of feet away from Sanji which allowed him to turn around and get a better view at the expression she was making.

Despite the fond smile on her face, she looked so utterly sad that Sanji felt something crack within his own chest. Not because a lady in front of him was upset(well that did actually play a big part in it). It was because he was all too familiar with the look on her face. Especially because it was a face someone who was once close to him used to make.

Sorrow. Loneliness. Despair.

Now it was all starting to make sense to the blonde. Behind that cold, detached facade, Shinsa Uchiha was broken.
