⚝ A Night in Halikarnas | 1/1

❝Lâl❞

I had a headache. It was literally cracking, yes. I've never remembered being so scattered before. The first day of my new life, which I started under the name Lâl, wasn't very stagnant, was it?

I kept turning around in bed, even though my head was turning with every move. I couldn't open my eyes yet because they would be sensitive to daylight. I remember dancing until my feet exploded. And I think it should be because my feet are really sore enough to explode. I remembered other things, but... I groped and reached into my notebook on the nightod. I was slowly remembering what I did when I went through my to-do list before I died. I sang and danced to people I'd never met in a bar I'd never been to before. Is that something? I kissed a man I never knew. Looks like I made a crazy list. There were many more things on the list.

When I put the notebook back in place and left my head on the bed again, I was setting out for the beginning of things I didn't really expect, I didn't even know it.

My room door was knocking. I didn't think there was room service in this kind of cheap place, but there is. "I don't want room service, I want some sleep! Thank you!"

Looks like anyone knocking on the door was more stubborn than I was. The door was ringing like a creditor this time without any trace of his old courtesy. What the hell was that? The only way to figure it out was to get up and open it, but I was so tired, I couldn't find the strength to do it right now. Thanks to them, I think the people outside the door were going to get me out of this trouble and break the door down. I finally put on a thin long dressing gown that would stand up and cover my half-naked body in an angry way. "What's the matter with you?" They looked weird and looked like izbanduts.

The man on the left said, "Good morning, ma'am," in a gentle way of speaking that contrasted with his rude appearance.

"Good morning, man, but I paid for a week's pay for the room in advance, why are you standing at my door so early in the morning?" I looked at the wall clock behind me over the kind but exaggerated gaze of the men who denied my words. No, it wasn't early in the morning, of course. I was just a hangover. Yes, it's possible. It might not have been early in the morning, but that wasn't a good reason for them to come to my door. "Okay, what do you want?"

"Mr. Valentino wants to see you."

"Who's that?"

"Mr. Valentino Riccardo."

"Dude, I don't know anyone like that, okay? Don't mess with me early in the morning." When I was going to close the door recklessly, the man who spoke directly to me stopped me by placing his foot between the door. "Are you bandits? What's this all about?"

"We're sorry, ma'am..." I knew from the look on the face of the man who was wondering what to call me, waiting for me to say my name.

"Lâl. My name is Lâl. But I don't know who Valentino is, man, I think there's been a misunderstanding."

"No, we're in the right place, Miss Lâl. Please don't force us to do bad things. Come with us." It wasn't hard to see things getting serious when he slightly opened his jacket and showed off his gun, which he tucked into his belt. "We want the conversation to end with the same courtesy, please don't force us."

Is this a joke? Looks like I was having a weird day. Like it had nothing to do with who the other guy was talking about. The man they're talking about, by name, he should have been a stranger. And I think the people I was facing were his men. But they spoke Turkish very well. Interesting. Maybe the man I was facing was really Turkish. I didn't know. When I looked at the situation I'm in right now, I've come to the distinction that this is the last thing I need to think about. I frowned and I said, "Wait here."

The guy who stopped me when I was going in to get dressed said, "Please don't do anything wrong. We don't want to run after you. We've got men at the door, you can't run. Don't try that," he warned.

"Dude, are you crazy? How do I get out of here? Did I make that impression that I was going to dig a tunnel and run away?" I wished myself patience. "I can't come half-naked, can I? Let me change for two minutes here."

In a few minutes, I got dressed and had to go after the men. I had no idea what they wanted from me, but it had to be because of what I did last night when I was drunk. When I thought about it, I had a lot of possibilities. Did I drink too much and started a fight at the bar? I don't know, I didn't remember. Even if I tried to keep my calm, I couldn't forget the possibilities and worries that were going on in my mind. Look at the girl who has nothing to lose, how scared she is. But I think whoever it was would be scared. After all, you don't knock on a woman's door like a creditor in the early hours of the morning, show her your gun, scare her, and then take her away. If you have a problem, you'll open a court, she'll be subpoenaed or something. But the people in mention were solving their affairs in different ways, I understand. In more interesting ways. When I got into the car outside the door, I ran into the guy waiting for me in the backseat. This wasn't just any guy. That was the guy. I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought I was still under the influence of drinking because what had happened all morning was so absurd and unreal that I couldn't believe it. The guy I kissed on the lips at the bar was sitting in the car ahead of me, staring at me.

As long as I kept quiet, he must have thought he was the one who should start talking. "Hello." When he saw me standing there, he kept talking in his calm tone. "Are you going to stand there or would you rather get in the car?" Although he was very fluent in Turkish, unlike the other man, he had an accent. That's a nice accent.

"In fact, I'd rather not be disturbed and brought to you by men I don't know, but you see, I wasn't asked about my choice!" As I breathed calmly deeply, the man laughed, bowing his head in response to the words I said. He had a charismatic laugh. I chose the right guy to kiss with a drunken head. I picked the hottest guy. Oh, when it came to kissing... "Come on. I only kissed you on the lips once! What's the matter, man?"

"I'm sorry if my men were rude, please. I sent my men to your door. I know it's never been a classy move to force you to come to my feet, but..." He laughed nicely again. "I like the way you talk. You're brave, I like it. But first of all, let's get to know each other." He pointed to the seat next to him with his hand and said, "Sit down." He had an authoritative face away from what he had just had. I sat there shaking my head and begging for patience. I had no guess what was going to happen to me, I had multiple guesses. For example, they could have stabbed me and thrown me in an empty lot. Or they could take my eyes out with a spoon, rape me, put on a wedding dress and throw them in the woods. Maybe they'd rape me after they put on a wedding dress, I don't know. There's a lot of alternatives in these guys. After all, they were mafia-likes. Oh, Lâl, uh. Okay, you kissed the handsome guy, and before you did, I wish you'd seen if he was mafia or not. You're going to have to make a to-do list before you die, and then you're going to have to make a list of things to look at before you kiss them, that's it. Oh, my God. I think I was in trouble.

Fortunately, he didn't do any of what I thought. He reached out and gently introduced himself. "I'm Valentino Riccardo. And you..."

"Lâl. My name is Lâl. I think that's enough information about me." I introduced myself under my false name to the man who could find out everything about me, from the brand of my underwear, if he wanted to. What courage. "Well, we've met. Will you come to what you want from me?"

"I'm a straightforking man. I don't know much about turning the word around like that. That's what I'm going to say... This is going to sound a little weird, but I'm impressed with you."

"Well, I'm sorry for you. What can I do about it?"

Before making his rather daring offer, he looked out the rearview mirror at the driver in the front seat and the other man at his disposal and let them out. When we were alone, he suddenly made me that unexpected offer. "My proposition is, I want you to have sex with me one night."
