I’m actually really excited about spending a free day out with my boys and Nico, though I guess he can be considered one of my boys.  I hope Serena is okay, in a way I’m glad that she didn’t show up this morning.  It would have been too awkward, though I suppose that we have to face each other sometime.  Nico seemed nervous about meeting the twins, I wonder if that’s the only thing that’s bothering him.  I feel like I should worry about something or that I did something that I shouldn’t have, though I can’t put my finger on it yet.

“So where do you boys want to go today?”

“The carnival!”  Elijah shouts from the backseat, oh yeah.  I forgot we have a carnival going on right now.  At the mention of a carnival Nico’s eyes light up.  Ah, there’s the guy I love.  He turns to me practically jumping in his seat.

“Oh, can we, can we Thias?”

Zainey is just sitting there taking it all in giving his brother and Nico looks like, did we really have to bring them?  Is it sad that my five-year-old might be more mature then my boyfriend at times?  Nah.  I just laugh at their antics.

“Sure babe, whatever you want.”

Okay what was that?  I’m pretty sure Zainey just gave me a disapproving look and started glaring at Nico.  Just how smart can my boy be for only being five?

“Yay!”  I hear two shouts simultaneously and can’t help but laugh again.

We get to the carnival and I pay for all four of us. Now we are debating where to go first.

“I wanna go on the rides daddy!”  That coming from Elijah.  Nico agrees with him excitedly, though Zainey is shaking his head.

“I don’t want to go on the rides.  I want to play the games!”   Awe, he’s pouting now, how can you resist your kid when he’s pouting?

“Okay we can go play games.”

“B-But daddy!”  Now Elijah’s pouting.  Hmmm, let me think.  Ah ha! Got it.

“How about Nico, you take Elijah on the rides and I’ll take Zainey to play some games?”  I’m sure Zainey would like that; we haven’t been able to spend time with just the two of us.  I’m sure Elijah and Nico should be fine since they are so much alike and get along well.

“That sounds good to me.”

“Yay!”  Elijah yells at the same time that my more reserved son’s face actually lights up.  That’s a good thing to see so I guess we are all set.

“Okay we will meet up at the food tents at lunch, see you then.  Oh, and Nico?”

Nico turns around to look at me.

“Yes?”

“Remember he’s only five, so there are some rides he won’t be able to get on.”

“That’s fine, I might take him to look at crafts later too anyways”

“How about we all look at crafts after lunch?”

“Great.  Now Elijah, let’s go have some fun!”

“Yay!”  With that he grabs Elijah’s hand and literally bounces off.  I shake my head at him and turn to Zainey.

“Daddy?”

“Yes Zain?”  He smiles at the shortened version of his name.

“Why didn’t mamma come with you this morning?”  Oh, well here we go.  I was hoping to put this one off for a bit, but like I’m sure has already been mentioned Zainey’s seems a bit older than his age sometimes.

“Your mom and I are having some problems at the moment.  That doesn’t mean we don’t love you and Elijah.  We both will always love you till the end of the earth.”

“Okay and daddy?”

“Yes Zainey?”

“Why is Nico here?”  There goes another hard question.

“Nico’s a friend and I thought it would be nice for him to meet you.  Do you not like him?”

“I’m not sure daddy.  He’s okay I guess.”

“Okay, well come on.  We came here for fun, so let’s go play and leave the serious stuff for another time.”

“Sure!”

We walk around playing games and teasing each other.   Like with the throwing he told me I was old and he could throw better than me.  Then later he called me a show-off with the hammer game.  That kid is something else.

After meeting up with Elijah and Nico for lunch we all went around looking at the different crafts and stuff.   We ended up getting Serena something because she wasn’t here with us.  That was actually Nico’s suggestion, and the boys jumped right one it.  He whispered to me that she was still family and deserved something.  I think he was still a little upset and feeling guilty about last night. 

I’m just now realizing what I shouldn’t have done.  I was selfish of me to bring Nico to see the boys the day after I told Serena about him, wasn’t it?  Oh, well not much I can do about it now.

We pull up to Jamie’s house; the boys are asleep in the back seat worn out from our busy day. 

“You want to come in with me?  If you don’t I understand, it might be a bit awkward.”

“No, it’s fine.  I’ve met her before, besides it is bound to happen sometime anyway.  I have to tell you though Matthias, you are going to have to make a hard decision eventually.  I can’t guarantee we will both be around forever.”

“Nico?  W-what are you saying?”  I’m getting kind of worried, he sounds like he might be leaving me.  I thought we had a wonderful day, and that he’d always be around.  Then again, I never really meant to hurt Serena and can’t see her not being around either.

“Oh Thias, I’m not saying anything right now.  I just want you to be prepared for things to get even more difficult.  I love you, but the longer you take in deciding, the more you hurt all of us.  Just think about it.”

“Okay.”  I give him a quick kiss when I’m sure the boys are still asleep.

“Now, let’s wake the boys and go face the music,”
