So, you guys may be wondering why a blood oath is so binding. In this universe blood has power. When you make a blood oath you are both giving a little bit of that power to the other person. If you were to break a blood oath the other person can then gain access to that power. For most that just means that they can track you down where ever you go or that they can inflict pain upon you at will without actually touching or going near you. Others though can cause serious damage to you. Then there are the rare cases when they can actually gain controll over you completely. Make you a slave to their ever wish and desire. Sooo... yeah. To make a blood oath you must cut one of three places on your body. Those places are your shoulder, palm, and knee. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "Why the knee?", well that's because the god who created the blood oath had a golden knee. I meant that literally. The God of Trust, Shinrai (NOT A REAL GOD), had a knee made of gold. Anyways, after cutting which ever place you choose you say whatever it is you're promising, then drink the other persons blood. Yeah, I know it's super cheesy and has been done a million times before, but I don't care. The more vague your promise is the more loopholes there will be.
