Chapter 6

After an awkward and quite lonely walk, you finally reach your new school. It didn't look like much, a bunch of tall buildings, cement paths and grassy areas. You glance at either of your brothers, hoping that they hadn't forgotten you. But alas, they both go their own ways, each going to their own groups. You shrink in on yourself a little before you decide to go and find the front office.

You decide that the building labelled 'Front Office' was the correct choice. You head straight for there and enter. The inside was a little small and stuffy, but you ignore it and walk up to the front desk. The lady that sat just on the other side was typing away on her computer, glassing sitting on the end of her nose just like a granny.

It takes a minute before she notices you and looks up, "how can I help you?"

"Oh, I'm, uh, new here," you manage to stutter, "and I was hoping to get my timetable."

"Ah yes," she smiles, "(y/n) Strider, correct?"

You nod, still not used of the last name.

"I'll just print that off for you," she tells you, "you can sit down and wait, your timetable and someone to show you around will be out soon.

You nod and turn around. You sit your bag on the ground and take a seat. The seats were actually quite comfortable and surprisingly not made of plastic. You didn't have a phone yet, so you couldn't play on it to distract yourself from how nervous you were feeling.

"Hi there!" an excited voice makes you jump.

You look up to see a brown haired, pink eyes standing in front of you, a smile on her face.

"Um, hi." You reply.

"My name is Feferi Peixes and I'll be showing you around." She explains, holding your timetable out for you.

"Nice to meet you, Feferi." You smile, taking the piece of paper and getting back onto your feet.

"So, we have all the same classes, so you can stay with me!"

You were grateful that she would let you stick around with her.

"Thank you, I appreciate it."

"Okay (y/n), let's head off to home class."

Just as you were about to tell her that classes hadn't started yet, the bell rings. You nod and pick up your bag.

"So our home class is in M11."

She practically drags you out of the front office and past all of the other students. The other students almost seemed to move out of her way. Maybe they were? You really had no idea.

Once you reach the classroom you both sit beside each other. Sitting on the other side of her was a grumpy looking kid with an obnoxious purple stripe in the middle of their hair and a scarf that he's probably tripped over way to many times. When he notices you he almost seems shocked, but he just looks back at the front of the class.

Soon enough the teacher walks in. She was short and looked as if she wanted to tear everyone's heads off. When she notices you, you could almost see the evil glint in her eye.

"Shut it everyone." She speaks loudly, making everyone actually shut up.

You gulp, knowing what was about to happen.

"So class, today we have a new student," she smiles a wicked smile, "would you like to come up and introduce yourself?"

You knew that it definitely wasn't a question. You stand up and walk up to the front of the class.

"Hi, my name is (y/n)," you say in the most dead sounding voice, "I moved here from (home town) and I like (hobby 1) and (hobby 2)."

After that you sit back down as quickly as possible. You could feel your face heating up from the embarrassment of doing that.

"Alright, now that that's out of the way..."

The teacher continues to talk, but you just block her out. You were so happy that home class only lasted 15 minutes. Because as soon as that bell rings, you grab you bag and look over at Feferi, who tells you that your next class was Social Studies.

As you both walk Feferi begins to talk about arrangements for lunch, saying that she sits with a group that you'd love, so on so forth. The purple streak boy from home class seemed to be walking beside the both of you. He seemed annoyed that Feferi was ignoring him.

"Um Feferi, who's that?" you point to the boy.

He looks a little shocked that you acknowledged him.

"Oh, this is Eridan, my childhood friend." She smiles.

"Um, nice to meet you, Eridan." You try to sound less awkward than you have all day.

"Likewise." It wasn't much, but at least it was something.

Once you get to your Social Studies class Eridan separates from the both of you. You both end up sitting by each other once again. You notice that the teacher was already in the classroom. He had brown hair and hazel eyes. When he notices you he smiles and makes his was over.

"Hi, you must be (y/n) Strider," he begins, "I'm Mr. Vantas, your Social Studies teacher."

"Nice to meet you, sir." You've said that way to many times today.

"I'm glad that you're in my class and I hope you enjoy your time."

"Thank you sir, I'm happy to be in this class." You respond.

The second bell goes and Mr. Vantas says his bye and heads back up to the front of the class.

"Alright guys, let's get started."

Unlike your homeroom teacher, he didn't need to yell to quiet the class. You half smile, maybe today wouldn't be so bad.
