Chapter 24

After finally managing to get Eridan to drink two glasses of water he collapses against the couch once more. You had received a few texts from the others regarding Eridan, but you reassured them he was now safe.

You now just needed to get Eridan a pillow. Just as you were about to get up, you feel something tug at your jacket. You look down to see Eridan clinging to it with one hand. You try to pry it away from you, but you were unsuccessful. You let out a sigh and sit back by his side.

"Man, now you're gonna get a back neck." You sigh.

Eridan just mumbles in response. You lean your head against the couch cushion, deciding to slip an arm under Eridan's head. In response he snuggles into the crook of your elbow. The jacket was probably uncomfortable, but he didn't seem to mind.

As you close your eyes, your mind begins to wander. You had only left Eridan for several minutes, and in that time Eridan had ended up in such a state.

You get into a position that was as comfortable as it was going to get, and try to get at least some sleep.

~~~
You let out a groan as a stream of light hits one of your eyes, forcing you awake. You lift your head to avoid said light, letting out a grunt of pain. Sleeping in such an odd position really screwed your neck up. You look down at your arm, which was still being used as a pillow by Eridan. You then glance behind you to see a glass of water and some pain killers sitting on the coffee table.
You turn back to Eridan and use your free arm to shake him lightly, hoping to gently wake him up.
"Eridan, come on." You mutter, letting out a yawn.
He lets out a groan of resistance, cuddling into your arm.
"C'mon, my arm's dead."
His eyes flicker open and he looks confused for a moment, before his bleary eyes land on you.
"(Y/n)?"
"Good morning, sunshine." You giggle.
Eridan lets out a yelp as he jumps into a sitting position at the other end of the couch. He winces, holding his head in his hands.
"Here, this'll help."
You grab the tablets and water, handing them to him. He thanks you before downing them with a satisfied sigh.
"Are you alright?" you ask, sitting up on the couch.
Eridan looks over at you, a frown on his face, "I can't really remember last night."
"Well, we think that someone spiked your drink." You sigh, rubbing the back of your neck.
Eridan grimaces, tugging at his hair, "that's fucked."
"You got that right."
You rub your eyes, ridding yourself of the irritating sleep that covered them.
"Morning."
You look up to see Dave walking in, two plates in hand. He sits them on the table, upon them sat eggs and bacon.
"Thanks." Both you and Eridan speak.
"Eh, it was actually Dirk," he shrugs, "but thanks."
You smile and roll your eyes as you watch him walk out. You then scoop up the plate and begin eating. You glance over at Eridan, who was just staring off into space.
"Hey," you begin in a low voice, getting Eridan's attention, "it's okay, take your time."
He gives you a half-hearted smile and picks up his plate.
~~~

You giggle as you continue talking to Eridan. Both of you decided that a walk would be a good idea, so you were walking him home. You had both showered, but Eridan only had his clothes from yesterday, so he had chucked them back on.

You were still a bit stiff and tired, but push it to the back of your mind as you keep the conversation going. You knew that Eridan wasn't feeling good, so you wanted to keep his mind off of it too.

"I mean, the books are better," you shrug, "there's a reason there's only one movie."

"Yeah, but I really feel like reading through four long ass books about dragons." Eridan huffs.

"Well I love dragons so I'm good."

"Guess we'll just agree to disagree."

"I guess so."

It wasn't long until we reached Eridan's home. You look up at the impressive house, humming.

"Well, I guess this is where I stop."

"Thanks, for, y'know, last night and all." Eridan turns to you.

"No problem," you smile, "that's what friends are for."

And with that you and Eridan part ways, him inside and you back home. You nearly jump out of your shoes when a horn honks. You look over to see a familiar blond waving out of the driver's side window.

"Hey (y/n)," she calls out, "hop in!"

You roll your eyes playfully before hopping into the car.

You notice that Jane was in the passenger seat.

"Hi Roxy, hi Jane."

"Hello (y/n)!" Jane chirps.

"You feeling alright?" Roxy asks, "we heard about last night."

"Yeah, I'm fine," you respond, "I just hope Eridan is alright."

"I'm sure he'll be fine." Jane comforts you.

"Do you wanna be dropped off home?" Roxy asks.

"If you wouldn't mind," you admit, "I have homework to finish."
