Leaving the island and meeting a team?

A/N: I do not own anything from the Sonic or the picture above. The picture is for any one who does not know who the Secret Freedom Fighters are and in case I did not describe them well enough later on in the chapter.

Sonic and the rest of the freedom fighters were all together on the beach that was in front of Tails' house. Most of them were swimming in the crystal clear waters except for Sonic who was chatting with Tails, and Sally who was in a beach chair reading a book while occasionally taking brief glances over at the two of them.
"So Tails why have you been by yourself on the island for so long, are you working on some new machine or something?" Sonic asked while looking a little concerned about him.
"Oh well it's not that, I've just been fixing something." Tails answered quickly while seeming a bit nervous, not wanting to lie to Sonic.
"Look Tails I know that you like working with your machines and stuff but I think it's time you came back to Freedom HQ, I mean with Eggman taking control of his lame empire again we're going to need your help buddy." Sonic said as he smiled and jokingly slapped Tails on the back.
"Well alright, I'll try to get back as soon as I can." Tails promised as he laughed a little with a cheerful smile adorning his face.
Their conversation had earned a few curious glances from Sally who started to seem a little suspicious of Tails, but soon decided to shake it off after hearing that he would be getting back to Freedom HQ soon.
Tails' guests had stayed on the island for another few hours until the sun was starting to set.
"I'll be back at Freedom HQ soon, but I've got to pack up the plane and make sure that the place is all cleaned up first alright." Tails told his friends as they started to board the boat that they had arrived on.
"Alright we'll see ya soon Tails!" Sonic shouted as the boat was starting to sail away.
After the boat was a good distance away Tails quickly started to search for Miles while thinking of a place he could stay that wasn't on the island.
"Miles where are you?" Tails called out as he was trying to think of someone who could take Miles in and keep him hidden from anyone that would recognize him.
Miles heard Tails call for him and walked out of the cave he was bidding in. The two had quickly found each other, but before Tails could say anything Miles had noticed how nervous Tails was and spoke up.
"Is something wrong, you seem like a little on edge?" He asked as he looked a little worried about their situation.
"Well we kinda need to leave the island since I think friends are starting to suspect that I'm hiding something from them." Tails told him as he frantically grabbed Miles by the hand to quickly take him back to the house.
After try arrived back at the house Tails was starting to pack bags while Miles stood around in the living room.
"So why can't I just stay here while you go back to the Freedom Fighters?" He asked while watching Tails run around the place.
"Well if they are thinking that I am hiding something then Sally might send someone to search the island while I'm on a mission or something, then if they find you here I won't be able to explain that you've changed." Tails explained as he closed a suitcase while looking at Miles.
"Ok well then where am I going to stay?" Miles questioned him, seeming a little worried.
"I think I have an idea. There is a small group that my friends in the freedom fighters don't know about and they do owe me a favor so maybe you can stay with them." Tails told him as he went to his room to make a phone call while Miles waited in the living room.
Miles waited patiently in the living room until Tails finished his phone call.
"So who exactly am I going to be staying with that you trust so much?" He asked from the chair he was sitting in.
"Well they are a small group of undercover freedom fighters, who happen to owe me a favor so they said that they would let you stay with them and even possibly join their team." Tails said, feeling overjoyed that Miles would get a chance to work with the freedom fighters.
"Are you sure that's the best idea?" Miles asked while feeling a little nervous about the idea of working with a team of people who weren't the suppression squad.
"Miles, it'll be fine. They are really nice and will probably love having a new teammate around." Tails insisted as he picked up his bags and started to walk with Miles out to the plane.
Miles followed along while thinking nervously about everything that could go wrong with this new team. Tails had climbed into the front seat of the plane with Miles taking the back passenger seat.
"Alright here we go!" Tails said as the engine came to life and the propeller started to spin.
The plane started to take off and was in the air in a mater of minutes and after about an hour of flying Tails had started to land the plane near a dense forest.
"Well this I where they said to meet at." Tails told Miles as he gently landed the plane.
They both hopped out of the propeller plane and started to look for the people they were supposed to meet.
"Tails there you are!" A voice called out as a figure stepped out of the shadows, showing himself to be Elias Acorn, the current king of New Mobtroplis as well as Sally's older brother.
"Elias it's good to see you this is Miles, he was the one that I wanted to stay with you and your team." Tails said as he stepped out of the way while introducing Miles.
"It's nice to meet you." Miles said awkwardly as he saw Elias who seemed a little cautious around him, not taking his eyes off Miles for a moment.
"Well I need to get to the freedom fighters, I'll check in on you in a few weeks, Miles." Tails told the two of them as he turned around and started to go back to the plane.
"Well come on we need to get going to." Elias muttered as he motioned for Miles to follow him.
Miles had followed Elias for a few hours before they reached a tree trunk in the middle of a field that was surrounded by trees.
"Here we are." Elias told him as the top of the trunk opened like a hatch, exactly like the hideout that Miles had on Moebius when he was escaping Scourge.
Miles then followed Elias down a ladder and into a bright room with cold steel walls and a sliding door on the other end.
"Alright let's go introduce you to the team." Elias said as he and Miles went through the door into a large area that had 5 people sitting around circular table in the center of the room with computer screens scattered around the room.
"Ok team this is our new recruit, Miles." Elias told them as they turned around in their chairs to look at him.
Sitting around the table was a white hedgehog, two similar looking female wolves, a short lynx, and a metal sonic that had black and yellow paint instead of the normal blue color.
"Nice to meet you kid, my name is Shard." The metal sonic said happily as he got up from his seat and walked over to Miles, holding out his hand to him.
Miles cautiously took his hand and shook it while the others at the table started to get up so they could introduce themselves.
"Nice to meet you Miles, I'm Larry the Lynx." A short Lynx dressed in some kind of orange and black jumpsuit said as he walked in front of Miles.
"Nice to meet you new guy. My name is Lyco and this is my twin sister Leeta." A female wolf said as she stood next to Larry. Lyco and Leeta both had dark pink fur and short brown hair and Lyco was wearing a similar jumpsuit to Larry except it was blue and black.
"Good to have you with us." The twin, Leeta said as she walked over to stand by her sister, the only difference was that she was wearing a green  and black jumpsuit and that her voice gave off a sweeter personality than her sister.
"I guess that saves me for last. My name is Silver." A white Hedgehog dressed in a light blue and black jumpsuit said while standing behind Larry.
"Ok now that we've all been introduced one of us should test his combat skills so we can try and gauge how well he'll do in the field." Elias said as he looked at all of them and then back to Miles.
The entire team started to look back and forth from each other, trying to think about witch one of them should be the one to test his abilities.
"Well since there seems to be no volunteers, I guess I'll be the one to do it." Elias told the team as he started to walk over to one of the doors that was connected to the circular room.
"Elias wait up, are you sure that you would be the best choice for this?" Leeta asked as she caught up with him while the rest of the team and Miles followed behind.
"Larry's powers are purely based on luck and he has little hand to hand combat skills, Shard might injure him badly with one of his lasers, Silver's powers are too overwhelming, you might pull a few punches, so that just leaves Lyco and myself." Elias explained as he continued to walk with them down the corridor.
They all then piled into a large elevator and were taken down several floors with everyone but Elias and Miles getting off a floor above them.
"Here is our stop." Elias said as he led Miles out of the elevator and into a empty room with steel walls and blue lights on the ceiling as well as an observation room where the everyone else had gone to.
"So you're going to test me in here?" Miles asked as he walked into the room, seeing nothing out of the ordinary about it.
"Just hang on for a second." Elias said as he looked up to the observation booth an gave them a nod.
The room then immediately started to change, the cold steel floor had turned into dirt with several patches of grass, several trees had sprouted up from nowhere, and the lighting had gotten dimmer making it almost look like it was illuminated by moonlight.
Miles' eyes were darting around the room after it changed. He was baffled by what he had just seen and was currently imagining how this could have happened. He slowly walked up to one of the tree that had sprouted from the ground and placed his hand on it.
"This is the training room that one of our friends helped us develop. It uses nanites to simulate any environment that we could face during our mission. Now come on we don't have all day." Elias explained as he walked into a small clearing that was near Miles.
Miles quickly snapped out of his gaze and turned to where Elias was standing.
"Sorry we just don't have anything like this on Moebius." He apologized while walking over to join Elias in the clearing.
"Just hurry up and get ready." Elias warned as he slid into a fighting stance as he glared at Miles.
Miles did the same before a bell was rung, signaling for them to start.
It only took a few seconds or Elias to spring forward to start an offensive, managing to knock Miles' arms out of the way before sending another blow to hit him square in the face.
Miles had recoiled, taking a few steps back while bringing one of his hands up to where he had been hit. He then quickly came back to his senses and jumped back right as Elias had came forward again.
"Well that was a little surprising." Miles said as he was stepping back a little more to get some distance before Elias could land anymore punches.
Elias didn't see this as an issue and started to run forward to try and catch Miles again.
'Ok he's coming forward again, now I just need to hit him with a little bit of magic and this'll be over.' Miles thought to himself as he opened one of his palms behind himself, expecting a ball of anarchy energy to form but only managed a few harmless sparks.
In the time that Miles had been trying to prepare a spell Elias had closed the gap between them and jumped into the air before kicking him in the chest, sending him to the floor.
Miles then started to panic a little as he rolled out of the way and got to his feet.
"Would you start taking this seriously." Elias said as he looked at Miles.
"Just keep going." Miles replied while gritting his teeth a little, coming to the realization that his magic wouldn't work on Mobius.
Elias then smirked as he tried to rush Miles again only for him to start flying upwards with his tails.
While in the air Miles started to try and think of a plan to try and gain the upper hand on Elias as he looked down, not able to see him from the cover of the trees.
It wasn't long until Miles spotted him in one of the trees and decided to dive down to try and ambush him. Once he neared Elias he stopped using his tails and dropped down on him, kicking him in the back and sending him to the ground below.
Elias had managed to twist himself midair and land on his feet before looking up at Miles as he dropped down to the floor.
He had then jumped up an grabbed one of the branches with both of his hands before swinging and letting go to propel himself at Miles, hitting him in the chest with both of his feet before landing.
Miles grunted as he was knocked to the floor and quickly picked himself up only to receive a combo of punches and kicks from his opponent. He was then in a daze as the flurry of hits stopped and then regained his composure in a few seconds.
Elias barely had a scratch on him while Miles was covered in several bruises. Miles then started to rotate his tails again, ready to fly up until he saw Elias getting ready to stop him.
Elias had ran forward again, intending to stop Miles from getting off the ground only to see a small smirk on the two tailed foxes face as he got closer.
Miles had stopped moving his tails and spun around on his heel, knocking them into Elias and sending him toward one of the trees.
Elias had bounced off of the tree and fell to the floor only to quickly recover, ready to start another assault on Miles.
"Ok chief I think that he has had enough." Shard's voice called over a microphone as the forest dissolved around them.
The elevator door opened as Lyco, Leeta, and Silver walked out.
"Come on let's get you to the infirmary Miles." Silver said as he and Leeta started to escort him to the elevator, leaving Lyco to talk with Elias.
"Don't you think that you took that a bit too far?" Lyco asked as she looked over at Elias.
"Not at all, but then again you don't know who he used to be associated with." Elias said as he brushed himself off and got ready to tell Lyco everything that he knew about their new teammate.
