Nap time

Throughout the day, Jeremiah had noticed some of the kids started to get at ease with the animatronic. There were still quite a few kids who stayed away from it though. She had also noticed that the animatronic in general kept its distance from her, apparently, it had processed her message. But sometimes, when she glanced over, she could see it looking at her. As if it wanted to approach again but decided against it.

She had been keeping an eye on it too, to ensure it wouldn't hurt the kids. Right now, it had managed to capture a small audience of mostly toddlers and a few 6- to 8-year-olds. It was preforming acrobatic tricks. She had to admit, she was quite impressed with its agility. Like, it had somehow managed to do a backflip and land on one hand with its feet in the air. Then a child had thrown a ball towards the animatronic, and it effortlessly managed to catch it with it's free hand.

Jeremiah looked at her Fazwatch, it was almost 12 o'clock, almost Lunchtime. She opened her beg to look for her lunch. She pretty quickly had decided to bring her own food to work despite the fact that they did get a free meal every day. This mostly because she was at the 'plex 6 days a week, and well, Freddy's wasn't exactly known for its healthy and nutritious food. When she couldn't find it, she sighed. She must have left her lunch in her apartment. She could always eat the muffin she had gotten that morning, but that wasn't exactly a fulfilling meal. So, instead, she opened the "Order and delivery" tab on her watch. She browsed through some of the restaurants, and eventually decided to order El-Chips Special Taco Mix. When she got the notification that the delivery was being prepared, she started gathering up the kids.

Shortly after she had managed to make them sit down and had made sure all of them had something to eat, she heard a knock on the door. She went to open it. Josh was standing on the other side, he looked like an absolute mess. It had been quite a while since she had seen him this greasy. "What happened to you? It looks like you've been wrestling with a broken oil pipe!" she exclaimed. He laughed. "Monty needed an emergency repair service." He explained. Jeremiah raised an eyebrow; this could be interesting. "What'd he do this time?" she asked, knowing how Monty was, she was about 99% sure he'd manage to break himself. "You won't believe this." He started. "So, do you remember we banned him from playing any of the competition-based games because he's such a sore loser?" Jeremiah nodded. "Well, turns out he's been betting on other players instead. Apparently the guy he was rootin' for lost. He ended up punching the wall so hard that it didn't just leave a hole in the wall, but also broke down half his systems. We've been at it for 3 hours now, but it seems like he's able to go back now." Jeremiah rolled her eyes playfully and laughed.

"So, how's things over here been? Not too much trouble I hope." Josh leaned into the Daycare a bit, caught the Animatronic's eye and waved. "Hello, Friend!" It shouted. It started making its way over, but stopped when it noticed Jeremiah's annoyed look. It stood there for a few seconds, fidgeting with it's own hands again, and then decided to turn back towards the kids when one of them started throwing food around. Josh looked at it with a confused face. "Is he okay? He should've been programmed to always come over and greet people recognized by his systems. Oh man, don't tell me he's busted already?" Jeremiah shrugged her shoulders. "Doesn't he have one of those evolving ai installed? Like that stuff that allows them to have more of a natural thought process instead of just doing what their original program commands?" She asked. "Yeah, his ai is capable of changing through method of learning from experiences and observations, but I don't really understand why he would choose to not approach." Jeremiah shrugged again. "I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Anyways, what brought you here?" she asked. He smiled at her. "I was gonna ask if you'd like to join me on my Lunchbreak." He answered. Jeremiah sighed. It had been a while since they had lunch together. Before the reopening of the daycare, they'd often eat together. But after that she always needed to find someone who wanted to look after the kids while she was out. "You know I can't leave the kids." She said. "You've got Sun now, don't you? I'm sure he can handle them on his own for a while." Jeremiah looked back at the animatronic. It was keeping an eye on the kids and seemed to be doing a fine job. She'd also like to leave the Daycare for a few minutes, but something in her just didn't want her to leave it unsupervised. She just couldn't trust it. "I'd rather not leave it alone with the kids." She said. "Besides, I already ordered something, and I don't know when it will arrive. But I'd love to join you some other time." She thought she could see a glimpse of disappointment in Josh' eyes when she turned back towards him. "Sure. I'll see you around then." He waved her goodbye, and then left, going back towards the entrance lobby.

Shortly after the Lunch break was over, Jeremiah started making the Nap corner ready for the kids. Earlier that day she had skimmed through the Attendant's manual and noticed that it had timestamps for when exactly the light would go out in the daycare. It was now 12:45, and the lights would be out from 1 till 1:30. She remembered what Emanuel had told her, about the importance of making sure all kids napped. Miraculously, by the time the lights were about to go out, she had managed to gather al the kids and convinced them all to join in with Naptime, even the oldest ones. She had explained that Moon wouldn't like it if they didn't join in, to which naturally, some kids asked who Moon was. She decided to just tell them that he only came out when the lights went out. By the mention of the Animatronic's name, she had seen Jay flinch. When she went in to try and comfort him, he pushed her away. He had assured her that he was okay, and reminded her of the story she had told him earlier, that he had just been sick, but was fine now. She wanted to stay with him, but knew that Emanuel had advised her to just sit behind her desk, she'd have to observe from afar. But promised herself she would intervene as soon as the robot made any wrong move. Then, the lights went out.

She needed a few minutes to adjust to the sudden darkness. But when she did, she saw that the attendant already had changed. It's yellow-and-orange color scheme had been replaced by a much darker one. grey-and-blue, if it stayed true to the original design, though it was hard to see with so little light. She was able to see that the Sunrays were gone, and instead a Nightcap had been placed on its head. It seemed to be saying something to the kids, though Jeremiah couldn't understand it. After a minute or two, it stopped, and watched them in silence.

Jeremiah shifted in her chair, which caused the animatronic to turn towards her. It didn't move away from its spot. It just stared at her, with a slight red hue illuminating from its eyes. She couldn't see its expression, though didn't think it was a friendly one. Whenever she moved, its glare followed her, it was extremely uncomfortably and quite uncanny.

A sound came from the nap corner, one of the kids was awake, and talking to another child. Instantly the animatronic focused on the kids. "Naughty children, it's time for naps. No waking up yet." She heard it say in a low, almost growling voice as it started reaching for the kids. Jeremiah panicked, and without thinking, she jumped over the daycare desk and ran toward the animatronic. "Don't touch them." She yelled, as she rammed into the robot, bringing it off balance and causing it to fall. "What's happening?" One of the children asked. Jeremiah took a deep breath. "It's nothing kids, just go back to sleep, okay?" She was trying her best to sound calm, she wanted to protect them, but also didn't want to worry them. When she saw no one move, she took a few steps back and started looking around.

The animatronic was getting up. It quickly turned towards Jeremiah and reached with it's hand towards her. She managed to put her arm in between the animatronic and the rest of her body, resulting in the animatronic grabbing it. "Why did you do that?" it growled. Jermiah tried to struggle free from its grip. "Let me go you-." The animatronic tightened it's grip around her arm, causing her to wince and cut of her sentence. "I don't tolerate rudeness like Sunny does. You have been a very, very naughty girl." Jeremiah felt her heart start to race as the animatronic was slowly pushing her back, away from the kids. "Now, you can go mind your own business and let me do my thing."

She stared into the animatronic's eyes. Her arm started to hurt. It shouldn't be able to hurt people, at least not on purpose, right? Was something wrong with its code? "It's a defect." She murmured. That was the only explanation, maybe it had just been defective from the start, this one, at least. She had her doubts about the other one, that one might be fine. She saw as its eyes widened at her words, then it started growling again. "I AM NOT DEFECTIVE!" It grabbed her throat with its other hand. Jeremiah felt her airways tighten. "I'm not going back to maintenance." It rasped, as it started pushing her against one of the walls. "I'm functioning exactly the way I should." She felt herself being lifted from the floor. Her lungs finding it harder and harder to collect enough air. She managed to get a glimpse of the animatronic, it looked furious. She attempted to reach the robot's arm with her still free hand. Trying to get it to loosen its hand. "Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!" it suddenly started yelling, Jeremiah wasn't sure who it was talking to, she was slowly losing consciousness.

"Jeremiah?" She could hear a faint voice say, she thought she recognized David, but she wasn't sure. Her vision was hazy, but she thought she could see the animatronic's expression change, suddenly, all the pressure on her neck and arm released, and she fell herself fall to the ground. She took several deep breaths. The last thing she saw, was the attendant turning around and staring at the direction the voice had come from.

Have a cliffhanger lmao
