An exhausting day
A/N: This will be a shorter chapter then the last few chapters were, sorry about that. This one's also mostly filler tbh. Anyways, I still hope you guys enjoy this one. If you haven't read it in the last chapter's notes, sadly, updutes will slow down for a bit. Though I will try to keep somewhat consistant with my uploads, no promisses though. If you'd like to see something happen in this story, you can always leave behind a comment and i'll see if it is possible to work it into the story somehow. It really helps me understand what readers might be interested in. Like do you guys enjoy random chapters like this one, or would you like an actual appearance from the other Animatronics too? Or do you rather have that this story focussess mostly on what's going on in the daycare? stuff like that. (also, this chapter's title might change in the future if i'm honest)
Either way, I'm going to try and make the next chapter more interesting lol.

It had taken Jeremiah the rest of her workday to convince the First Aid workers that she had been fine. By the time they finally let her go, she was doing much better. She still had a sore throat, and her arm did hurt, but the dizziness had disappeared. She was now headed to the daycare, to gather her belongings. As she was making her way towards the entrance of the Daycare, she suddenly felt something wrap around her waist. She nearly lost her balance, but was able to keep herself standing up. She looked down, Jay was hugging her. Confusion clouded her gaze; the entire daycare section should've been closed for guests half an hour ago.
"What are you still doing here? Where is Julia?" she asked, looking around the area. "Jeremiah! Thank goodness you're here! I was so worried about you!" she heard a familiar voice say. Looking in the direction the voice had come from, she saw her aunt approach her, her daughter close behind her. Jeremiah felt her aunt's arms wrap around her. "Seriously, Tyche be with you! I was so scared when Jay told me something happened when the lights were out. Especially when you didn't pick up your phone!" She let go. Her aunt was a professor in Folklore and Mythology, and had taken a special interest in Greek Mythology. She had made it a habit to refer to several mythological figures whenever she wanted to express herself. Though Jeremiah had tried to memorize the stories her aunt had told her when she was younger, she never managed to remember most of the gods she talked about. Though she thought "Tyche" was the Greek Goddess of luck.
"I'm sorry, I think my phone is still inside the daycare. Has Jay seen what happened during Naptime?" She asked. Julia shook her head. "Not exactly, he heard that something was wrong, and saw you laying on the floor when the lights went back on. Why?" Jeremiah almost let out a sigh, she wasn't sure why she was so relieved. Sure, she had started up a lie about the events against her better judgement. But she should be truthful with her family, right? Then she saw the kids' look at her. They were already terrified, she couldn't allow herself to scare them more. She'd tell Julia the truth another time. "Nothing! I just fell and hit my head pretty hard. I was having trouble remembering some of the details and hoped he had seen anything, that's all." She ended up saying, feeling her belly tighten with guilt.
She saw that her aunt was about to comment, but then she heard a wail of distress coming from the Daycare. She saw 2 Security bots approaching, together with a middle-aged woman she recognized from Staff meetings, also security she guessed. Whatever was happening couldn't be good. She started heading towards the daycare, turning one last moment towards her aunt before she left. "We can talk about this some other time! You should head home, the 'Plex will close soon!" she yelled. It was still a couple of hours before Lockdown, but on weekdays, the place never stayed open 'till 12 for guests. Not even during summer break.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but we can't let you leave with these kids. You're not registered in our system. Now, calmly follow security out" The talking voice, which she guessed belonged to Lilith, got interrupted. "I'm not leaving without those children! I was sent by their parents to pick them up!" A voice she didn't recognize said. "Well, we weren't informed so you can't leave with them!" Lilith replied. At that moment, Jeremiah stepped through the door. A young girl, about her own age she guessed, so somewhere between 21 and 25, was standing in the entrance of the Daycare. She recognized her from the photo Mrs. Brooks had shown her. Jeremiah wanted to slap her own forehead, she had completely forgotten about the fact that Mrs. Brooks couldn't make it tonight. "Sophia Jones, right? Are you here to pick up Mrs. Brooks' kids?" She asked, trying to sound as formal as possible. "Well, that is the plan, but someone doesn't allow me to take them with me." She scoffed. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." She heard Sophia mumble something. She directed herself towards her younger co-worker. "It's okay, Lilith, Mrs. Brooks told me Ms. Jones would come pick them up. Sun could you check out those three kids and put Ms. Jones here into our system?" she said. When she got no response from the animatronic, she turned towards it. Sun was staring at her, she couldn't quite guess the emotion it had on it's faceplate. It made her uncomfortable though. Why couldn't this robot act normal for a minute? It was already bad enough she was trying to help it despite what happened, now it was embarrassing her too. She cleared her throat. "Sun. Could you please check out those three kids and put Ms. Jones into our system." She repeated herself, more sternly. The animatronic straightened itself. "Euuh, Yes of course! I can do that!" it said, before directing itself at the children with a big smile.
After Sophia had left with the kids, Jeremiah went to take her bags. "So, are you gonna clean up and close the Daycare, or am I supposed to do that now?" she heard Lilith ask. She suddenly realized how exhausted she was. She shook her head. "I won't stay for cleaning duty tonight, I'm too tired. Though I'll come in early tomorrow for that. So, we just have to close this place off." Lilith shrugged her shoulders. "Works for me." She answered, as she started making her way towards the door. Jeremiah followed shortly, her bag in hand. Before she could leave, she heard her name being called. She turned around, and saw that Sun had reverted back to staring at her. "What?" she asked, slightly irritated. Sun seemed to want to approach her, but stayed wisely away. She hadn't figured out yet how to feel about the animatronic now that she had decided to cover for it. But she still didn't like it. Lilith was still standing in the doorway, and gave a small, obviously fake, cough. "Nevermind, have a good night." It said eventually, Jeremiah rolled her eyes. She turned around and gave it a small gesture, then closed the doors behind her.
