A/n: I didn't write Stan's accent, I probably won't write people's different accents

Harry followed (Y/N) into her house and only then did he notice her foster mother laying asleep peacefully on their couch. Once he was inside (Y/N)'s room, she closed the door.

"So what's up and talk fast, I don't know how long she'll be asleep for." Harry told her all about the evenings events, and while he was worrying, (Y/N) was completely calm.

"So will you come with me? To the Leaky Cauldron?" Harry knew it was a lot to ask but he was in desperate need of her presence right now.

"Sure," she walked over to her wardrobe started filling her trunk with clothes. "Help me pack will you." Harry swiftly got up and helped her pack. She wrote a note for Vivian saying she'll send an owl when she gets there.

Harry helped her quietly carry her trunk downstairs, she grabbed Mittens, put her in her cage and brought her too. Once she had everything she need, she walked over to Vivian, placed the note on the coffee table and kissed her on the forehead.

"I'm sorry Viv," she muttered as she walked back to the door.

"You know you don't have to come." Harry said, disappointed he's pulling his best friend away from her adoptive mother.

"And leave you all alone, I'm not a monster Harry. Come on, I have muggle money if we need it." With that, they left her house, storming down the street until they got to Mongolia Crescent, there they stopped to sit down for a little.

"Harry your not going to get expelled, you did accidental magic and the Ministry isn't going to throw a thirteen year old boy in Azkaban, because he blew up his Aunt." She laughed, slightly, he didn't understand how she always stayed so calm in times like these.

"But -"

"Ok stop, let's just talk about something else ok?" Harry nodded, then he remembered about the letter she was holding.

"What was the letter you were holding when you opened the door and why were almost crying?"

(Y/N) looked at him shocked that he knew about the letter.

"I don't feel comfortable telling anyone right now." (Y/N) muttered, not meeting his eyes.

"Ok, you don't have to tell me now but will you please tell me when your ready. Your my best friend and I tell you basically everything that's on my mind."

"Yeah, I will."

The wind picked up, the playground behind them made loud noises and the street lights flickered. That's when Harry saw it, a black shaggy dog, coming out of a bush on the other side of the street. It looked as if it was about to attack him, Harry quickly grabbed (Y/N)'s hand, though he didn't really know why he did. He pulled her up to stand, raising his wand at the animal.

With a sudden honk, a purple bus zoomed down the street, stopping right in front of them. Harry fell back in shock, pulling (Y/N) down with him. A young adult stepped out of the bus, his face looked dirty, full of pimples and he wore bus conductor clothing. He started talking but (Y/N) wasn't listening, she had seen that dog before, but she couldn't remember where. The conductor started talking to Harry and asking him questions, (Y/N) stood up and looked past the bus into the bushes, where the dog had stood.

"What's wrong with her?" The man who just introduced himself as Stan asked.

(Y/N) turned around, hands in pockets. "Many things," she said, trying to mess with him. Stan looked at her weirdly.

Stan turned back around to Harry and started talking to him again, (Y/N) was now leaning against the side of the bus, hands still in pockets. Harry looked at her and she winked in response, heat rose to his cheeks again, why was he feeling like this?

"So you getting on or not?" Stan asked, Harry turned his attention back to him and nodded. Harry payed even though (Y/N) told him to let her.

The bus was filled with beds on wheels and there was a huge chandelier hanging in the middle. This bus compared to normal muggle busses had three levels which (Y/N) found quite cool. A shrunken head and an old man with humongous glasses called Ernie were talking but (Y/N) zoned out, finding it uninteresting.

"You ok?" Harry asked, (Y/N) rolled her eyes.

"I'm fine, you worry to much." She smiled sweetly, holding onto his hand and squeezing it softly.

Harry's emotions were all messed up and he couldn't think straight, why do I get a weird, yet nice feeling when I look at her? This never normally used to happen, the only time I ever really felt like this towards her was when Ron made that comment on the train in first year. What is happening to me? Harry thought to himself.

"Take it away Ern," Stan said to the driver.

"Yeah, take her away Ernie. It's going to be a bumpy ride," the shrunken head said, in his Jamaican accent. The bus sped off into the night, narrowly missing lampposts, cars, and bus stops.

"Won't they see us, the muggles?" Harry asked, pushing away his thoughts and focus on how fast they are going. Stan shook his head, in disbelief on why Harry would ask such a stupid question.

"The muggles?" Stan laughed a little, "they don't see nothing, do they?" Harry didn't say anything, holding on tightly to the bedpost, (Y/N) on the other hand, was completely calm. Not holding onto the bedpost and just sitting there in a comfortable position.

They turned a sharp corner and headed down this small narrow street.

"Ernie, old lady at twelve o'clock." The shrunken head cried, Stan, (Y/N) and Harry all looked up and saw the lady crossing the street. Ernie slammed the breaks, causing the bus to come to a halt and Harry smashing face first into the window that separated the driver from the rest of the bus, they narrowly missed the woman. (Y/N) laughed at Harry, she obviously cared if he was hurt or not but it was still funny.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, three and a half, two, one and three quarters. Yes!" The shrunken head said while they waited for the lady to pass. Ernie hit the accelerator speeding up the bus once again.

"You ok?" (Y/N) asked Harry, as he fell back onto the bed. He looked at her, glaring at her a little but she didn't seem bothered.

"Who's that?" Harry asked Stan, who was reading the daily prophet, "that man?"

"Who is that?" Stan repeated, "who is- that is Sirius Black, that is. Don't tell me you've never been hearing of Sirius Black?" Harry shook his head and so did (Y/N). "He's a murder, got himself locked in Azkaban for it." Stan said, moving closer to Harry.

"How did he escape?" Harry questioned.

"That's the question, he's the first one that done it. And he was a big supporter of..... you know who. Him you've heard of?" Stan asked.

"Yeah, him I've heard of." Harry said, he side glanced at (Y/N), knowing what happened last year with Tom Riddle/Voldermort, effected her a lot more than she let it seem. But (Y/N) wasn't focusing on the way Harry was looking at her, she was more focused on the image of Sirius Black, there was something about him that felt familiar to her, but she didn't know what.

"Ernie, double deckers at twelve o'clock." The shrunken head exclaimed. "Their getting closer Ern, Ernie, their right on top of us!" Harry was in shock, thinking he was going to die and that there was no possible way to get out of this. (Y/N) laughed, Harry didn't understand how she stayed so positive in moments like these.

Ernie swiftly pulled a lever back as we were about to crash into the busses, time seemed to have slowed down and Ernie now was using a different object.

"Mind your head," the shrunken head laughed, the bus looked and felt like it was being squeezed together. (Y/N)'s body felt flat like a sheet of paper being crumpled up, it was a hard feeling to describe but it was definitely.... unusual. "Hey guys? Why the long faces?" The shrunken head cackled.

As soon as the Knight bus was away from the two muggle busses, it sped off into the night once again. It turned down another dark and narrow street, but this one was familiar, a car was the only thing on the street. Ernie pulled a lever, then slammed the brakes just as they reached the car. Harry once again got his face smashed into the glass, making (Y/N) snort out a laugh.

"The leaky cauldron," Stan said, pointing to the door. Harry pushed himself off the glass. He turned around to see the owner of the place, Tom. He was a nice man but a little strange.

"Ah Mr Potter and Miss McKinnon." He beamed at them, Stan started asking Harry a bunch of questions but Harry didn't reply to any. He got off the bus with (Y/N), the sound of the car alarm - the car they hit - going off like crazy, with a flick of his wand Tom shut up the car and lead them inside. Harry was sent to the Minister of Magic's room to have a talk with him, (Y/N) didn't like Fudge that much, there was just something about him that she found rather irritating.

When (Y/N) walked in with Tom to go and show Harry his room, Fudge gave her a look, one that showed that he feared for her and was nervous about her current situation. (Y/N) glared at him not liking his annoying Minister eyes on her, he swiftly looked back to Harry.

"Have a nice stay you two," he said before Harry and (Y/N) left the room. Tom led Harry to his room and (Y/N) to her's - which was just across the hall - (Y/N)'s books were already bought for her and in her room, which she thought was weird but Tom said it was just to give her more time to relax.

(Y/N) walked over to Harry's room and knocked on the door. "Give me a second" his voice said, muffled slightly but the door. He opened the door putting on a hoodie, "oh hi (Y/N)."

"Hi, anyway what are you doing?" She asked, walking past him and sitting on his bed. Harry sat down opposite her.

"Unpacking," he replied bluntly, "you should get ready for bed."

"I am ready for bed," she said, pointing at her grey sweatpants and black hoodie. Harry just stared at her, getting lost in her eyes, he never noticed how complex they were, hiding secrets behind them. What has been happening to him lately, (Y/N) is his best friend, he shouldn't be feeling like this.

"Uhm- earth to scarhead!" (Y/N) waved her hands in front of his face, snapping him back into reality. "I know I'm beautiful but it's rude to stare." She chuckled, Harry flushed red, annoyed at himself for feeling like this.

"I'm sorry," Harry muttered looking down, (Y/N) shook her head and messed up his hair with her hand.

"I was only joking Harry, your so serious sometimes." He looked up at her and she smiled.

"Someone has to be serious when your laughing every two seconds." Harry grinned.

"I do not." She said, holding her head up high.

"Yes you do."

They were silent for a few seconds, then burst out laughing. When they finally calmed down, they looked at each other again (Y/N) smiled.

"You see scarhead, it's good to laugh sometimes and trust me if you saw yourself smash into the glass on the bus you would be laughing too." The truth is, (Y/N) always laughed more when she was with Harry, sure she's had great laughs with Dean, Seamus, Hermione and Ron but laughing with Harry is different, it's more special.

"Oh shut up Mickey." He chuckled, "anyways, it's getting late, we better go to bed."

"Fine," she replied, rolling her eyes. She walked to the door, notice her present for Harry's birthday on his bedside table. "Goodnight Harry."

"Goodnight Mickey."

For the past week, Harry and (Y/N) have been spending all their time either playing games, talking or shopping/walking around diagon alley. They started getting bored of it, having visited every shop, they had tried out almost all the ice cream flavours at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream shop. Harry visited Flourish and Boltts once, he noticed a divination book - a subject he's taking this year - had the same type of black dog as the one he and (Y/N) saw just recently - the book was full of death omens -, he thinks it more than just a coincidence but is trying not to dwell on it too much.

He found out (Y/N) had gotten the same book as the one Hagrid gave him for his birthday and he found out the hard way. Harry's book was sealed shut with one of uncle Vernon's old belts however (Y/N)'s wasn't sealed at all. It crawled around Harry's room - where she opened the book - luckily she let out her rage on it, stomping on it until Harry could find a piece of cloth laying around to seal it shut with.

"Ron's not going to like that, it moves like a spider and has ugly spider eyes." She said, making Harry laugh. "Yes, that was met to offend you, you annoying excuse for a book." She added, lifting up the book so it's eyes and her's were looking at each other.

"I wonder who our Care for magical creatures teacher is." Harry said sitting down on his bed.

"Whoever they are, likes odd books." (Y/N) said, "come on Harry, let's go back to Diagon alley, we've got nothing to do here." Harry shook his head, he was so tired of going there, the only shop keeping him alive was Quality Quidditch Supplies but they haven't got anything new so he was just seeing the same old stuff.

"I heard that Quality Quidditch Supplies has got a new item-thing in their store." She grinned, Harry's face immediately brightened and he quickly got up. (Y/N) didn't even know what they were selling but new it was enough to get Harry up on his feet.

They walked through diagon alley over to the quidditch shop, it was crowded with people trying to get a good look at the window. Harry grabbed (Y/N)'s wrist - she got a weird feeling in her stomach but was sure it was just her lunch - and dragged her through the crowed so they could see what was happening, she was surprised to see a brand new shiny broom, with the words firebolt written in shiny gold on it.

"Wow." (Y/N) muttered, Harry was shocked at how beautiful it looked, he could just imagine himself flying on it, the look on Malfoy's face so visible.

"Hey (Y/N)!" A voice she knew way too well yelled, she turned  around to see Dean, he was standing outside of the crowd. She dragged Harry out of the crowd until they were in front of their friend, Harry isn't as close to Dean as (Y/N) but they have been dormmates for a while so they were quite close. (Y/N) hugged him and he hugged her back.

"Hey Dean, I've missed you," she said after they separated. "You need to get better at replying to letters." Dean laughed a little, smiling.

"Hey Harry, did you see the new broomstick?" He asked, Harry nodded, "it's amazing, I wish I could get it but it's too expensive and I'm not on the quidditch team so there wouldn't really be a point." He sighed, (Y/N) was saying hello to a few other people she knew, so Dean and Harry were now standing in awkward silence.

Harry knows Dean has some weird bond with (Y/N), the way he looks at her gives him the idea that Dean likes her. Finally she came back from talking to a Ravenclaw girl in their year.

"Sorry, anyway, what do you wanna do." She asked, Harry kind of wanted to go back to his room and relax since he was starting to find diagon alley boring again. Dean whispered something in her hair and she nodded, they did their handshake and then (Y/N) spoke up again. "Harry is it ok if I meet you back at the Leaky Cauldron later? Dean and I have a prank thing we want to do quickly."

"Sure, see you later." Harry said, he was slightly disappointed that she was going but knew her and Dean were close friends so he couldn't do anything. He started walking back to the Leaky Cauldron, passing the ice cream shop on his way.

"Harry?!" A voice asked, he turned around to see Ron and Hermione sat at a table eating ice cream. "Oh Harry!" Hermione beamed.

Harry walked over and sat down with them, Hermione gave him a side hug and Ron smiled at him.

"Where's (Y/N)? She said she was here with you." Ron asked, him and (Y/N) had developed a sibling-like bond throughout the years, Ron told Harry that when he first met (Y/N) he had a small crush on her but quickly got over it once he realised how brilliant Hermione was, though he never admitted the Hermione part.

"She went off somewhere with Dean." Harry replied sourly, Ron looked at him weirdly and Hermione smirked.

"Good on her," Hermione said, "they are over there!" Ron and Harry swivelled their heads around to where she was pointing. They saw (Y/N) and Dean laughing about something, once they stopped Dean swung his arm over her shoulder and they both walked into Flourish and Boltts, most likely to do his shopping.

Hermione was grinning, Ron seemed irritated and Harry had a mix of strange emotions spread across his face, not that anyone could really notice.

"Why are you grinning?" Ron snapped at Hermione. "That is bad, not good at all."

"What do you mean, they're thirteen, they're just friends." Hermione looked shocked at Ron's sudden tone.

"Friends!? Friends don't do that!" Ron exclaimed. Harry didn't like it whenever they started bickering.

"Harry does that all the time to (Y/N) and you don't seem to mind." Hermione had a harsher tone now.

"Yeah but Harry's, Harry." Ron said looking at Harry and then back at Hermione.

"Thanks mate." Harry muttered, rolling his eyes then looking at the ground uncomfortably.

"That's not what I meant."

"Anyway, Harry tell us more about how you blew up your Aunt." Hermione said, trying to change the subject.

"I blew up my annoying Aunt, thats it." He replied bluntly.

Hermione frowned, "I mean details and tell us what happened after."

Harry told them everything that happened during the summer, Hermione scolded Harry for not keeping calm and so on, while Ron praised him for doing what he did.  Hermione said she was thinking about getting a pet and they all went to Magical Menagerie's - a place that sells pets and related items - Ron wanted to check if Scabbers was healthy or not, since apparently he's been acting strange. They walked in to see a bunch of strange animals turning to look at them.

"Hello," a lady at the counter said.

"Hello." Ron smiled politely, "I think there is something wrong with my rat."

"Show me then." Ron placed Scabbers on the counters and the lady examined him carefully. "Has he got any powers?"

"Well- you see, Scabbers has never really had powers, he might still be developing them though."

"Well then, he's just a common garden rat, how long have you had him for?" Ron went on to explain how Percy had Scabbers before him, the lady seemed surprised that Scabbers had lived that long, and said that he would probably die soon. She tried to convince Ron to buy on of her special rats with powers but Ron said he didn't want another rat, so she gave him rat tonic.

Ron put the rat tonic in his pocket, about to grab Scabbers but a giant tiger like creature jumped in his way, trying to get to Scabbers. Ron's rat ran around the place, trying to get away from the big ginger cat.

"Crookshanks, no!" The shopkeeper yelled at the cat, not really doing much. Scabbers dropped onto the ground and rushed out of the shop.

"Scabbers!" Ron cried, chasing after the rat, Harry signalled to Hermione that he was going to follow Ron and left the shop. They found Scabbers in a nearby trash can, he squirmed as Ron put him in his pocket, shaking madly. They walked over to Hermione who had just walked out of the shop, she was holding a ginger cat, Harry hoped it wasn't the one that just attacked Scabbers.

"Why do you have that?!" Ron exclaimed pointing to the big, fluffy ginger cat. It's face looked squashed, it was kind of ugly in Harry's opinion.

"It, has a name." Hermione replied, head held high.

"It, tried to kill Scabbers!" Harry didn't think it was the smartest idea for Hermione to buy an animal that just tried to murder Ron's rat but didn't say anything. Their bickering continued the whole way back to the leaky cauldron.

When they entered, they saw an extra large table, made for the Weasley's, (Y/N), Hermione and Harry. They all sat down on the table, Ginny opposite them, she said hello, still a bit shy towards Harry but she was talking to him so that was a plus. Mrs Weasley greeted Harry in a tight motherly hug, Mr Weasley smiled at Harry, Percy shook Harry's hand for a long minute, acting as if they never met before. Percy had become head boy, not that Harry cared.

"Not flashing that clipping about again are you Ron?" One of the twins said from behind Harry.

"I haven't shown anyone," Ron muttered annoyed

"No not a soul!" They grabbed the news article with the Weasley's in Egypt on the front.

"Not unless you count Tom -"

"- the day maid -"

"- the night maid -"

"- the cook -"

"- that bloke who came to fix the toilet -"

" - and that wizard from Belgium." They said, finishing each other's sentences, Harry chuckled, Ron glared at them.

"Where's that annoying munchkin you always hang out with?" Fred asked

"(Y/N)?" Ron asked confused.

"No Scabbers," Fred replied rolling his eyes, George laughed and Harry chuckled.

At that moment (Y/N) burst through the doors panting slightly, looking as if she had just run away from something.

"You come back here young lady!" A voice yelled in a tone Mrs Weasley used when she was yelling at the twins. (Y/N) looked up shocked and started backing away across the room. She tried to hide behind a wall but it was too late, Vivian stormed into the room, easily spotting (Y/N). Harry heard (Y/N) curse under her breath. "(Y/N) get your butt back here before I chase you around the room."

She looked around for a chance to escape, all the Weasley's and Hermione were now staring at her. "I should've ran upstairs," she muttered to herself before coming out from behind the wall. She walked over to Vivian, hands in her pockets, trying not to show fear. "Hello, had a nice day so far?" She asked, Vivian glared at her.

"No I haven't, a terrible week in fact and you know exactly why."

"What? No I don't."

"Yes you do, you leave, in the middle of the night and all you do is leave a note!" She yelled, "you are thirteen and I am your guardian, that means you are my responsibility, you can't go running around in the middle of the night."

"What do you expect me to do, I'm not just going to leave my best friend to fend for himself, and plus he's the only one who seems to think I'm not disappearing every two seconds, unlike you." (Y/N) yelled back, she hated yelling at Vivian but she had so much anger stored in her system right now.

Harry noticed (Y/N)'s irises were glowing bright red, signalling that she was angry. He had never seen that happen before so he was confused on why they were glowing like that. (kinda like Scott McCall's alpha eyes, if you've watched Teen Wolf)

"You could've woke me up, even after reading your note I was so scared, with Josh not home, I was all alone. On top of that there is a mass murderer on the loose and who knows what could've happened to you." Vivian exclaims, tears brimming in her eyes.

(Y/N)'s gaze softened and her eyes stopped glowing.

"I'm sorry, I should've woken you up, I just had a lot on my mind and didn't think about waking you up." (Y/N) walked closer to her adoptive mother and whispered something in her ear.

"We can visit." Is all Vivian said, (Y/N) smiled brightly and hugged the woman tight. Anni left to go back home and (Y/N) rushed upstairs happily.

Everyone turned their heads to Harry.

"What?" He asked, confused.

"You talk to her." Hermione said.

"Why?"

"Because you've been with her the whole time, she'll probably tell you what the whispering was about and we want to know."

"Fine." He sighed, before standing up and walking to her room. He knocked on her door, opening it to see (Y/N) jumping on her bed, happily. "Hey."

"Oh, hi Harry!" She smiled, she was literally just yelling at her adoptive mother and she's happy all of a sudden, what? Harry thought to himself.

"What's got you in such a jolly mood?"

"That is for me to know and you to never find out."
