𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Remus' pupils dilated as the clouds that were covering the full moon before flew away.

"Remus, my old friend. Have you taken your potion tonight?" Sirius asked, running up to Remus.

Remus started screaming in pain.

"You know the man you truly are, Remus! This heart is where you truly live! Here!" Sirius yelled, patting Remus' heart. "This flesh is only flesh!"

Remus' wand dropped out of his hand as he began to transform into his werewolf form. Peter used this as his chance to escape, he picked up Remus' wand about to cast a spell.

"Expelliarmus!" Harry said, making the wand fly out of Peter's hand. All the children stood in a group, trying to stay as far away from Remus as possible.

Peter gave them all a creepy wave before, shrinking back into his Animagus form. He ran away.

"Remus! Remus!" Sirius kept on shouting, "run! Run!"

Remus pushed Sirius off him, making Sirius fly away. Remus was now fully in his werewolf form.

"Come on." Harry said, him and (Y/N) grabbing Ron's shoulders to help pull him away.

"Wait. Wait." Hermione stopped them

"Hermione! Bad idea." Ron told her

"Yeah, Hermione. Listen to Ron!" (Y/N) added

Hermione slowly walked towards the werewolf — who was hunched over — and whispered, "professor? Professor Lupin?"

The werewolf whimpered before letting out a loud howl. Hermione stepped back fearfully.

"Nice doggy. Nice doggy!" Ron whimpered

Snape came out of the hole in the Whomping Willow, rushing over to the kids. He grabbed Harry's collar and said, "there you are, Potter!"

The werewolf growled at the sight of Snape, making Snape swiftly turn around. He pushed the children behind him to somewhat protect them.

Remus scratched Snape, causing him and the children to fall over. Just when Remus was about to scratch them again, Sirius in his Animagus form jumped and bit Remus in the ribs.

They started fighting.

Sirius yelped in pain before running away from everyone, the werewolf hot on his trail.

"Sirius!" Harry yelled, before running off to follow his godfather.

"Come back here, Potter!" Snape shouted

Harry didn't listen and kept running, he heard Sirius whimpering in pain. He picked up a rock and threw it an Remus.

Howling sounded in the distance and Remus ran away from Harry, following the sound. Harry looked over to Sirius direction, to see him back in his human form, slowly stumbling down the hill.

He ran after his godfather once again. He found Sirius laying on the ground next to the lake.

"Sirius!" He shouted, "no. Sirius!"

He knelt next to Sirius, only to see him unconscious and covered him scratches and cuts. Then he heard ice creaking and saw the water in the lake freezing up.

He knew the dementors were coming.

Sirius suddenly opened his eyes gasping as he saw hundreds of dementors flying above him.

"Expecto Patronum!" Harry yelled, pointing his wand at the dementors above him. A bright light shot out of his wand, shielding him and Sirius from the dementors.

But he couldn't hold it for long enough. He screamed in pain as a dementors flew by him. He fell on his knees, screaming in pain as they continued to try and suck out his soul.

Sirius' mouth was agape, his soul slowly floated out of his mouth. Harry looked up and saw a patronus in the shape of a stag, it pushed all the dementors away from Sirius.

Sirius' soul slowly floated back down into his body, causing him to gasp and start breathing heavily. That was the last thing Harry saw before his vision started to blur and he fell unconscious.

"Harry?" (Y/N) asked him, sitting next to his bed in the hospital wing.

"I saw my dad." He stated

"Huh?" She replied a confused expression on her face.

"He sent the dementors away. I saw him across the lake." He explained to her.

"Listen, Harry. They've captured Sirius. Any minute the dementors are gonna perform the kiss." Hermione said

"They're gonna kill him?" He asked, quickly sitting up.

"No, it worse. Much worse." (Y/N) replied, handing Harry his glasses.

"They're going to suck out his soul." Hermione stated

Suddenly the doors to the hospital wing opened, it was Dumbledore.

"Headmaster, you've got to stop them. They've got the wrong man." Hermione said, rushing over to the man.

"It's true, sir. Sirius is innocent." Harry said, him and (Y/N) standing next to Hermione.

"It's Scabbers who did it." Ron added

Harry looked at him noticing Ron's leg was all bandaged up.

"Scabbers?" Dumbledore asked

"He's my rat, sir. He's not really a rat. He was a rat. He was my brother Percy's rat. But then they gave him an owl..." Ron rambled on

"The point is, we know the truth. Please believe us." (Y/N) said

"I do, Miss McKinnon. But I'm sorry to say the word of four 13 year old wizards will convince few others." He walked over to Ron, "a child's voice however honest and true is meaningless to those who have forgotten how to listen."

Dumbledore patted Ron's leg causing the boy to squeal in pain.

The bell rung.

"Mysterious thing, time. Powerful and when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower. You know the laws, Miss Granger and McKinnon. You must not be seen. And you would do well, I feel, to return before this last chime. If not, the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight more than once innocent life may be spared. Three turns should do it, I think."

Dumbledore walked to the doors about the close them before he said, "oh, by the way. When in doubt, I find retracing my  steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck." He then closed the doors.

"What the bloody hell was that all about?" Ron questioned

"Sorry, Ron, but seeing as you can't walk." Hermione said, pulling the time turner out of her jumper. She wrapped it around Harry and (Y/N).

Harry was about to touch it when (Y/N) smacked his hand away, "no touching." She said sternly

When Hermione removed the time turner from around Harry and (Y/N), Harry noticed it was now bright outside.

"What just happened?! Where's Ron?" He exclaimed

"7:30. Where were we at 7:30?" Hermione asked

"Going to Hagrid's." (Y/N) replied

"Come on." They started running, "and we can't be seen." She told Harry

They ran through the courtyard, past the executioner.

"Hermione! (Y/N)! Wait! Will you please tell me what is it we're doing?" Harry yelled

They stopped running to peek around the corner, there they saw Hermione pulling her wand out on Draco.

"That's us. This is not normal." Harry said

(Y/N) turned around and pushed Harry against the wall. She pulled the time turner out of Hermione's jumper.

"This is a Time-Turner, Harry. McGonagall gave it to Hermione first term. This is how we've both been getting to our lessons all year. We've been sharing it." She told him

"You mean we've gone back in time?" He asked

"Yes." Hermione replied, "Dumbledore obviously wanted us to return to this moment."

"Clearly something happened he wants us to change." (Y/N) said, peeking over Hermione's shoulder to look at what was going on.

"Good punch." Harry says to Hermione as her past self punched Draco in the face.

"Thanks. Malfoy's coming." She said, pushing Harry and (Y/N) back.

They ran through a small open room and jumped out the open window. They slowly ran to the big rocks, as they saw their past selves run down the hill to Hagrid's.

"Look. Buckbeak's still alive." Harry smiled

"Of course. Remember what Dumbledore said. If we succeed, more than one innocent life could be spared." Hermione said

"Let's go." (Y/N) spoke, leading the way to Hagrid's hut. They ran behind the pumpkin patch, crouching down so they weren't visible.

They saw Fudge, Dumbledore and the exicutioner walking down the hill.

"Here they come. I'd better hurry." Harry said, standing up slightly

"Fudge has to see Buckbeak before we steal him. Otherwise he'll think Hagrid set him free." (Y/N) told him, pulling him down so he wasn't visible to others.

"That's Pettigrew." Harry hissed, as he saw the rat being handed to Ron.

"Harry, you can't." Hermione said

"Hermione, that's the man who betrayed my parents. You don't expect me to just sit here."

"Yes, you must." Hermione pulled him down.

They moved so they could sit behind the pumpkins that were stacked on top of each other.

"Harry, you're in Hagrid's hut now. If you just go bursting in, you'll think you've gone mad. Awful things happened to wizards who meddle with time, Harry. We can't be seen." Hermione explained

They heard Fudge's talking getting louder, and when they look in his direction he was getting closer.

"Fudge is coming." (Y/N) said

"And we aren't leaving?" Hermione added, noticing how their past selves were still in Hagrid's hut.

"Why aren't we leaving?" (Y/N) asked Hermione

Hermione picked up a rock and then threw it, making it hit the vase.

"Are you mad?" Harry asked

"Oh, this looks fun! Let me try." (Y/N) smiles, picking up another rock and throwing it at Harry's head.

"Ow. That hurt." Harry said, glaring at her.

"Good." She said, beaming at him.

He gave her a look of disbelief, shaking his head.

"Come on, we're coming out of the back door. Go!" Hermione instructed

Harry, Hermione and (Y/N) ran into the forest, each one hiding behind a different tree.

"Is that really what my hair looks like from the back?" Hermione whispered

Hermione stepped on a twig, causing it to snap and make a loud noise. Past Hermione swiftly turned around.

"Hermione." (Y/N) scolded the girl, as their past selves ran away.

"Sorry." Hermione apologised

They crept out from behind the trees, hiding behind the pumpkin stack once more.

"Okay, go, Harry. Go!" The girls told him.

Harry crept towards Buckbeak, bowing when Buckbeak looked him in the eye. Once Buckbeak bowed back, he grabbed the chain connected to Buckbeak and started tugging on it.

"Okay, Buckbeak. Come quickly. Come with us now. Come on." Harry said, but Buckbeak didn't move.

"Keep trying. Come on. Quickly." Hermione said from behind him.

(Y/N) knew Buckbeak wasn't going to move, so she rushed to were his ferrets were and grabbed a bunch of them.

"Come on. Come on, Buckbeak." She said, waving the dead ferret around. "Come on. I know you want to eat this tasty ferret."

Buckbeak got up, and (Y/N) threw the ferret so he could catch it. They started moving towards the forest but froze when, Dumbledore and the others exited Hagrid's hut.

When they realised Dumbledore and the others were all looking in the other direction, they continued to lead Buckbeak into the forest.

When the adults all turned around, they noticed Buckbeak had disappeared. Fudge started complaining, to Dumbledore.

Harry, Hermione, (Y/N) and Buckbeak started running deeper into the forest. Harry put Buckbeak's chain on the floor and (Y/N) put down the ferrets she was carrying.

"Now what?" Harry asked

"We save Sirius." (Y/N) replied

"How?"

"No idea." The girls said simultaneously

The ran through the forest, reaching the edge near the Whomping Willow.

"Look, it's Lupin." Hermione said as their Professor appeared.

"Immobulus!" Lupin casted the spell to calm the tree before entering the hole in it.

"And Snape's coming." (Y/N) added

"And now we wait." Harry said

"I hate waiting." (Y/N) mumbled crossing her arms and sitting down.

A group of bats flew past them, "ah!" Harry whimpered, touching his ear where the creatures scratched.

(Y/N) turned around to see Buckbeak playing with the bats, trying to eat them.

"At least someone's enjoying himself." (Y/N) stated

"Yeah." Harry and Hermione chuckled

"(Y/N), Hermione?" Harry asked

"Yeah?" The girls replied

"Before, down by the lake, when I was with Sirius I did see someone. That someone made the dementors go away." Harry said

"With a patronus. I heard Snape telling Dumbledore. According to him only a really powerful wizard could have conjured it." Hermione explained

"It was my dad. It was my dad who conjured the patronus." Harry smiled to himself

"Harry, but your dad's-" Hermione started

"-dead. I know." Harry finished her sentence, "I'm just telling you what I saw."

"Here we come." (Y/N) said, breaking the awkward silence.

They all stood up.

"You see Sirius talking to me there?" Harry asked

"Mhm" the girls replied

"He's asking me to come and live with him." Harry continued

"That's great, Harry!" (Y/N) smiled softly at him.

"When we free him, I'll never have to go back to the Dursleys'. It'll just be me and him. We could live in the country someplace you can see the sky. I think he'll like that after all those years in Azkaban." Harry beamed

His moment was cut short by the full moon coming into view and Remus howling.

"Let's go." Harry said

They all started running towards the area Remus and Sirius were fighting. They watched as Remus was about to attack Harry, that's when (Y/N) realised she has to interfere.

She cupped her hands around her mouth and howled like a wolf would. Harry tried to cover her mouth but (Y/N) pushed him away.

"What are you doing?!" He whisper yelled

"Saving your life." She said, before howling once more.

"Thanks." Harry smiled

"You really think I'd let you die, Potter?" She chuckled, before realising Remus was headed their way.

"Great. Now he's coming for us." Harry stated annoyed

"Yeah, I didn't think about that. Code red, run!" She yelled

They ran as fast as they possibly could trying their best to distance themselves from the werewolf. Hermione grabbed onto (Y/N) and Harry's hands, pulling them behind a tree.

Hermione pulled them around the tree once she thought the werewolf was gone, but realised he was right in front of them.

It started running up to them, Harry wrapped his arms around (Y/N) trying to shield her from Remus, while (Y/N) squeezed Hermione's hand.

Just before Remus could attack Buckbeak flew in front of the children, blocking the werewolf from them. He flapped his wings, hitting Remus in the face with his hooves.

Remus retreated into fear.

"That was so scary." Hermione said, hiding her face in (Y/N)'s chest.

"Poor Professor Lupin's having a really tough night." Harry said, (Y/N) chuckled slightly at his words.

Suddenly the wind started to pick up, Harry, Hermione and (Y/N) looked up at the sky and saw the dementors flying.

"Sirius. Come on!" Harry yelled, grabbing (Y/N)'s hand pulling her and Hermione along with him as they ran towards the lake.

They stood near a tree, watching what was going on at the lake from a distance.

"This is horrible." (Y/N) said

"Don't worry. My dad will come. He'll conjure the patronus." Harry reassured her, "any minute now. Right there. You'll see."

"Harry, listen to me. No one's coming." Hermione said

"Don't worry, he will. He will come."

"Your dying. Both of you." (Y/N) observed

Harry ran forward.

"Harry!" (Y/N) yelled

Harry pointed his wand forward and screamed, "Expecto Patronum!"

A large white light shot out of his wand, pushing all the dementors away. (Y/N) and Hermione watched amazed.

Harry, (Y/N) and Hermione were all sitting on Buckbeak as he flew in the air. (Y/N) was practically sitting on Harry lap, her arms tightly gripping Buckbeak.

Harry's arms were wrapped around (Y/N)'s waist, Hermione's arms wrapped around his waist. They were trying to save as much space as possible for Sirius.

"You were right, (Y/N), Hermione! It wasn't my dad I saw earlier. It was me! I saw myself conjuring the patronus before. I knew I could do it the time because well, I had already done it! Does that makes sense?" Harry exclaimed

"No"

"Yes"

Hermione and (Y/N) yelled at the same time.

"Whether it made sense or not doesn't matter. Im so proud of you, Harry!" (Y/N) smiled at him

"I don't like flying-" Hermione screamed, (Y/N) and Harry laughed and cheered at her words.

They landed outside Sirius' cell, "Bombarda!" Hermione yelled, pointing her wand toward the lock.

The door flew open and they all got onto Buckbeak. Sirius laughed as he flew on Buckbeak, (Y/N) smiled at his behaviour.

They landed in the courtyard, Sirius helped Hermione off Buckbeak while Harry helped (Y/N).

"I'll be forever greatful for this... to all of you." Sirius said

"I want to go with you." Harry stated

"One day, perhaps. For some time my life will be too unpredictable. And besides you're meant to be here." Sirius placed his hands on Harry's shoulders.

Hermione and (Y/N) walked away wanting to give Harry and Sirius some privacy.

"But you're innocent. And you know it. And for now, that will do. I expect you're tired of hearing this but you look so like your father. Except your eyes. You have-"

"-my mother's eyes." Harry finished his sentence.

"It's cruel that I spent so much time with James and Lily, and you so little. But know this, the ones that love us never really leave us. And you can always find them in here," he places his hand over Harry's heart.

He stood up and walked over to Buckbeak, getting on him. "You really are the brightest witch of your age." He said to Hermione, "and you," he looked over to (Y/N). "You are a perfect combination of your mother and father."

Hermione and (Y/N) smiled at him before moving over to Harry. Sirius flew away into the distance.

The church bell started chiming.

"We have to go." Hermione told them

They started running to the hospital wing. Once they reached it, Dumbledore was closing the doors to it.

"Well?" Dumbledore asked

"He's free. We did it." Harry said

"Did what? Good night." Dumbledore replied, waking away.

(Y/N) pushed the doors open to the hospital wing, entering it.

"How did you get there? I was talking to you there. And now you're there." Ron stammered

"What are you on about Ron?" (Y/N) asked, chuckling to herself slightly.

"Honestly, Ron. How can somebody be in two places at once?" Harry added

Ok so i really need you all to tell me if I have introduced Blaise to (Y/N) yet bc if I haven't then I won't add him into the next chapter (the last chapter of third year)

I did promise someone that Harry and (Y/N) would kiss in Third year, and I don't break promises so... 👀

Anyway please tell me if Blaise is in the story yet. One more chapter to go (which I will be updating tomorrow)
