There are a lot of grammar mistakes and half of this chapter doesn't make sense, I'm too lazy to read through this so if you find a mistake just tag me in the comments and I'll edit it 😭

Everyone sat in the Great Hall, in the centre of the room was the Goblet of Fire. They had just finished eating dinner, meaning it was now time to draw the names to find out who would be participating in the Triwizard Tournament.

"Sit down. Please." Dumbledore said

Everyone followed his orders, Hermione, Ron and Harry were sitting together while (Y/N) sat further away so she was next to Cho and Josh.

"Now the moment you've all been waiting for: The champion selection." Dumbledore announced, he waved his hand around (idk how to describe the weird hand movement he did) and slowly walked towards the goblet.

He placed his hands on it before walking back. Suddenly the blue flame turned red, a piece of paper flew out of the flame, Dumbledore caught it.

"The Durmstrang champion is Viktor Krum." Dumbledore shouted

Everyone applauded, the Durmstrang boys cheering louder than all the other students. Viktor walked over to Dumbledore, shaking the headmasters hand. He then walked to the chambers the champions where supposed to wait in.

The flame turned red once again, this time a prettier piece of paper flew out of the flame.

"The champion for Beauxbatons is Fleur Delacour."

Once again, everyone applauded, this time it was the Beauxbatons students who were cheering loudly. Fleur smiled, walking up to the headmaster to shake his hand before going to the champions chambers.

(I'm honestly too lazy to write 'the flame turned red a piece of paper...' so I'm just going to skip that)

"The Hogwarts champion, Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore announced

The Hogwarts students cheered loudly, you could tell by the look on their faces that the Hufflepuff's were happy that their house was going to finally get some recognition. (I love Hufflepuffs)

Josh smiled brightly, though he didn't really want Cedric to participate because he was worried about his friends safety, he knew Cedric was very happy and seeing Cedric joyful made his day.

Dumbledore gave Cedric a tap on the shoulder after they shook hands.

"Excellent! We now have our three champions. But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory, the Triwizard Cup!"

Dumbledore pointed towards an object covered by a sheet of cloth. The cloth flew off of the object, revealing a cup that shined brightly, the words 'Triwizard' were engraved on it.

The Teachers looked up towards the direction of the goblet. Their faces looked confused and shocked. Everyone turned towards the goblet, hearing strange sounds coming from it. Dumbledore walked towards the goblet, covering his eyes slightly as the flame suddenly turned red once more.

A piece of paper shot out of the red flame, floating through the air until Dumbledore finally caught it.

"Harry Potter." He said, "Harry Potter?"

Everyone turned towards Harry, some faces had a look of confuse while others had a look of rage.

"Harry Potter!" Dumbledore yelled

"Go on, Harry. Harry, for goodness sake." Hermione said, pushing Harry to stand up and walk over to Dumbledore.

Ron looked at Harry, a look of envy, anger and jealously combined into one. Everyone and everything was silent, Harry slowly walked towards Dumbledore, he was still so confused on what was going on.

When he reached Dumbledore, he was frightened. The headmaster who always gave him a soft look was now looking at him in complete disgust and disbelief.

That's when Harry was finally realising what happened. He hated it. He hated all the attention. He hated being known by everyone and just when he thought it was going to be a good year, this happens.

Harry walked forward, he couldn't really think straight, how could've this had happened? He didn't put his name in. The only thing that called him down slightly was the thought of (Y/N). For some reason thinking about her called him down, he didn't know why but he thought it was because of the small crush he had on her.

Just when he was starting to calm down, he started to think about the fact that (Y/N) could hate him now. He knew that she could never actually hate him but for some reason his mind was fuelling him with scenarios where she hated him.

The people behind him who were yelling, "he's a cheat!" And whispering about him, weren't helping him calm his thoughts.

The gate to the chambers the champions where supposed to wait in opened. He could hear Dumbledore, the other headmasters and a few teachers running down the stairs while arguing.

"Harry." Dumbledore rushed towards the young boy, "Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?" He said, grabbing Harry's shoulders and pushing him back slightly.

"No, sir." Harry replied

"Did you ask one of the older students to do it for you?"

"No, sir."

"You're absolutely sure?"

"Yes. Yes, sir." Harry said shakily

"But of course he is lying." Madame Maxime stated

"The hell he is! The Goblet of Fire is an exceptionally powerful magical object. Only an exceptionally powerful Confundus Charm could've hoodwinked it. Magic way beyond the talents of a fourth year." Moody shouted

"You seem to have given this a fair bit of thought, Mad-Eye." Karkaroff spat

"It was once my job to think as dark wizards do, Karkaroff, perhaps you remember." Mad-Eye said, his tone much darker than before.

"This doesn't help, Alastor. Leave this to you, Barty." Dumbledore muttered

"The rules are absolute. The Goblet of Fire constitutes a binding magical contract." Mr. Crouch turned around to face everyone. "Mr. Potter has no choice. He is, as of tonight a Triwizard champion."

They all faced him, Harry just stood there, shocked.

Harry sat against his bedpost, staring off into the distance. He hadn't see (Y/N) or Hermione since the incident and Ron didn't seem to be happy with him.

"How did you do it?" Ron asked

Harry turned to face him, a look of confusion on his face.

"Never mind. Doesn't matter. Might've let your best friend know, though." Ron said

"Let you know what?" Harry questioned

"You one bloody well what."

"I didn't ask for this to happen, Ron. Okay? You're being stupid."

"Yeah, that's me. Ron Weasley, Harry Potter's stupid friend." Ron laid in his bed, pulling the covers over him.

Harry stood up, irritated. "I didn't put my name in that cup. I don't want eternal glory. I just want be... Look, I don't know what happened tonight and I don't know why. It just did. Okay?"

All Ron did was turn over so that his back was facing Harry.

"Piss off." Ron muttered

Harry sighed before walking back to his bed, he was about to get under the covers when Dean tapped him on the shoulder.

"What?" Harry asked, he didn't mean to sound rude he was just stressed.

"(Y/N) asked me to tell you to meet her in the common room." Dean whispered to him

Harry felt his spirits rise slightly, he hoped she wanted to see him for a good reason. Harry nodded at Dean before standing up and leaving their dorm.

The common was dimly lit, since the fires were slowly going out. There in the centre of the room stood (Y/N). Her hair was all messy, she was wearing her pyjamas and tapping her foot anxiously.

She would say she looked like a mess, but in Harry's eyes, she was gorgeous. Harry rushed towards her, quickly wrapping his arms around her waist and embracing her in a hug. He didn't know what came over him, but he really needed her comfort.

She hugged him back, shocked by the sudden action but glad he hugged her.

"(Y/N)." He said, still embracing her.

"Yes?"

"You know I-" he started

"I believe you, Harry. I know you didn't put your name in the cup. It's okay, I'm not mad at you." She cut him off

Harry felt his heart flutter slightly, no one had ever made him feel this way. She always managed to comfort him and make him feel safe, no matter the circumstance.

"Harry. I want you to know that I'll always believe you. Even if you say something stupid or have a stupid goal you want to achieve, I will always believe in you. No matter what, I'll always be here for you." She whispered, her voice was so soft and calm, her words made his heart melt.

"I... I will always believe in you too, (Y/N). You mean the world to me, I'll alway here for you. No matter what." Harry said

"Promise?" She asked

"Pinky promise." Harry chuckled slightly, pulling away from their hug to stick out his pinky.

(Y/N) smiled softly, interlocking her pinky with his.

I'm on holidays so you'll be getting a lot more updates!

Also I might not be describing (Y/N)'s romantic emotions towards Harry as much as I'll be describing Harry's (as in getting butterflies, blushing etc) but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel like that when she's around him.

The whole fourth year relationship dynamic is basically Harry realising he has a big crush on her and her trying to figure out herself.

The romantic part of this story is mostly from Harry's pov (he's the one who gets butterflies and gets all flustered) so you won't see (Y/N) get as flustered as he does. Idk if that makes sense but i thought I would explain that so you know for later chapters.

Ik it's a while away but I'm so excited for 5th year bc I got a really good scene I want to happen.

(This is not proof read at all and I'm not sure if any of it makes sense)
