THANK U ALL SO SO SO MUCH FOR 500+ READS!!!!
OMG OMG SOMEONE NEEDS TO CALL A DOCTOR IM HAVING A SPASM AAAAAAAH
Still here? Okay. To the point.
I was about to publish a new episode of one of my other stories, and I looked at "A New Kind of Love", and 500+ reads awaited me!
I couldn't have asked for a better community, so here's another chapter!!
Y/N's POV
I dialed Max's number, a big smile on my face. We were gonna see each other that day, but we needed to discuss where we wanted to go.
A lazy voice greeted me. "Hello?"
"Hey, Max."
Max immediately perked up, but he tried to hide it. "Oh! Y/N! ...Ahem...uh...I mean...hi."
I chuckled to myself. Max could be such a bean sometimes.
"So, we were gonna meet up today, right? Or did you cancel out on me?"
"No! Why the frick would I do that?"
I shrugged, even though he couldn't see me. "Dunno. Just wondering. So, what do you wanna do?"
There was silence on the other end, followed by a "hmm".
"How about Mr. Cone? I'm so damn hungry I could eat a freaking horse," Max suggested with a sigh.
I chuckled. "Sure. I'll pick you up."
Mr. Cone, (a popular ice cream store in my town, if any of you don't know,) was walking distance from my house.
Convenient.
I threw on my famous f/c hoodie, (it was cold outside,) and jumped out my window, once again.
It's weird that my mom doesn't give a damn about me, but she doesn't let me leave the house. That's just how she works.
My feet were greeted by the feeling of prickly grass. I smiled to myself, looking around. Fall was such a pretty time.
I flipped up my hood and started walking towards Max's house. I whistled a little tune as the leaves gently fell to the ground.
Once I got there, I knocked on the door.
I didn't even have to, though. As soon as my fist came in contact with the wood, it opened.
A devilishly handsome kid opened the door, which I was not expecting. Who was this kid?
Oh, yeah. It was Max.
(HAH HAD U FOOLED)
He leaned against the doorframe, a smirk etched onto his face. His tan skin shined in the sunlight. "May I help you?"
I realized that my mouth was gaping open, so I shut it. Max was still smirking at me expectantly; like he wanted me to say something.
I felt my cheeks heating up. I scoffed and grabbed his hand, pulling him away from his home. "Come on. We're getting food."
"Bye, Dad!" Max called over his shoulder.
"Bye, Max!" David's voice responded.
"Finally," I sighed, continuing to pull Max. But, I stopped as I had a realization. "Wait...did you just call David 'Dad'?"
Max's eyes widened, and his cheeks turned a dark shade of red. He yanked his arm away from me and buried his face in his hands.
"AWWW!" I screamed, hugging Max. "THAT'S SO ADORABLE!"
Max huffed and crossed his arms, not returning the hug. "If Nikki and Neil here about this, you are freaking dead."
I chuckled and ruffled his hair. "If you say so, small bean."

A 10-minute-walk later, we had arrived at Mr. Cone. It's a rather small store; it doesn't have an inside that you can go into, but employees sit inside this tiny building with a window, and they hand you your ice cream from there.
When it was Max's and I's turn to order, I, like usual, ordered politely. "Hello! May I have a (favorite ice cream flavor) in a (dish/cone), please?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Max roll his eyes at my request. Hey, I'm polite! Sue me.
The cashier nodded, a smile on her face. Then she turned to Max, awaiting his order.
"I want a maple walnut in a sugar cone."
She looked taken aback by his "polite" request, but nodded anyways.
"That'll be $8.00," the cashier smiled.
I nodded and slapped a $10.00 bill on the counter. "Keep the change," I said, going to the "waiting for your food" line.
***
A bit later, we got our ice cream. I gestured over to a picnic table that was in the corner of the property. Max nodded and came with me, ice cream in hand.
We sat down, and I made an "aah" type noise as I sat down, Max sitting next to me. I began eating my ice cream, the cold singing my tastebuds in the best way possible.
"You know," I said to Max after a few minutes of silence. "We should get out more."
Max nodded. "Yeah. We should." I felt him intertwine his fingers with mine. I rolled my eyes, chuckling.
"You've got such a soft spot for me," I chuckled, brushing a stray strand of h/c behind my ear.
Blush scattered across Max's cheeks, and he nervously ran a hand through his fluffy, black hair. "N-no, I don't."
I set my ice cream on the table, and suddenly I felt a finger under my chin.
It brought back memories of the bonfire at Camp Campbell.
Max and I gazed into each other's eyes, and I sensed something from him. Gentleness? Kindness? It's hard to say. But whatever it was, I wasn't used to it.
My confusion was interrupted my Max pressing his lips against mine! I was in shock at first, but eventually kissed back.
First kiss, done!
When we pulled apart, we were silent. Until I chuckled, that is. "You really do have a soft spot for me."
Silence. I took that time to look at the splashes of color that scattered across the sky to form a sunset. I always saw them as intricate paintings; with their multiple colors blended together so perfectly.
Then, Max spoke. "Shut the frick up, you moron."
"You don't deny it?"
"Nope."

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! I'm pretty sure that this won't be the last chapter of this book, but maybe there will be a thing that makes me end it...I doubt it. So bye!
