Chapter 1
Hey. My name is Ricky. Today is my tenth birthday. And naturally, I'm getting a Pokemon.
"Gary, Gary, he's our man..."
I swore under my breath. Gary's coming.
"Hey, idiot-boy. You get your Pokemon yet?" Gary said from behind me.
"No, but I'm about to, loser." I said. "Can't you do anything without your cheerleaders one through six?"
The cheerleaders stood up. "Ricky, Ricky, he's our man! If he..."
"BE QUIET!!!" Gary yelled at them. "Look, I'm not gonna tell you my Pokemon until we have a battle. And since I wanna ultimately destroy you, I'm gonna wait on all other battles until our first. I'll be in Viridian!" And he hopped in the car and drove away with the girls chanting.
"Ugh. What an idiot." I walked into the building. I mean I walked in the door. Not the door, the doorway. Oh, you know what I mean.
"Hello. My name is Professor Oak. I study Pokemon as a profession. Now, are you a boy or a girl?" Oak said, looking straight at me.
"WHAT? ARE YOU INSULTING ME? CAN'T YOU TELL MY GENDER?" I screamed at him.
"Are you a boy or a girl?" He repeated.
I had an idea. "I'm a girl," I said sarcastically.
Suddenly there was a flash of light. I looked down, and I was a girl. "WAIT I MEANT A BOY!!!"
"Too late. You said girl, and now you can't go back."
I clenched my fists. Ow. Nails. "Ugh. Bye," I said.
I walked out of the building. 'Wait, I still need my Pokemon,' I thought. I walked back inside.
"Hello. My name is Professor Oak. I study Pokemon as a profession. Now, are you a boy or a girl?" Oak said, looking straight at me again.
"I'm a boy."
There was another flash of light and then I looked down. I was a boy again.
"Finally."
"Now what's your name?"
"Ricky."
"Ok, now, this is my grandson," he said, holding up a picture of Gary. "Er, what was his name again?"
"WHAT? ARE YOU SAYING YOU CAN'T REMEMBER YOUR OWN GRANDSON'S NAME?" I yelled.
"Well? Are you going to answer?"
I had a devilish thought. "Dunghead."
"Oh, I remember it now! His name was Dunghead! You two have been rivals since you were babies."
'I just met him yesterday, you idiot,' I thought.
"Now, let your journey begin"
"Wait! What about my Pokemon?"
"Leave then come back in. I should have them by then."
"What?"
"Just leave."
I walked outside, and then walked back in in just a second. I peered in the window, and three Pokeballs were on the table. There hadn't been enough time to take them out of his pocket, much less go into a room or have someone else come in.
"How the..." I muttered.
I walked back in. "Hey, can I have my Pokemon now?"
"Here."
He let me choose. I chose the best one, (Actually the only one why the heck? There were three Pokeballs when I looked in the window) Charmander.
"Would you like to give your Pokemon a nickname?"
"No."
"Ok, here's your Pokedex and Pokeballs, along with your Trainer Card," Oak said, handing me all the stuff. "Bye!"
I walked out finally. I walked over to Gar- Sorry, Dunghead's house.
"Hey Daisy. Can I have a Town Map?"
"Sure." The pretty girl grabbed a Town Map and handed it to me.
"Thanks."
I walked over to the doorway. "Hey, how's Gary?"
"Who?"
"You know, Gary, your brother?"
"No, my brother's Dunghead," she said. "Duh."
"Well, bye." I walked out. Then I ran over to the gate to Route 1.
"Dunghead, Dunghead, he's our man! If he-"
"STOP IT!!!"
Gary. I know.
"Hey Dunghead, how's the new name?" I yelled as loudly as I could.
"YOU! YOU TOLD MY GRANDPA! WHY???"
"Sweet, sweet revenge. And he said a couple things that agitated me; if I was a boy or a girl, I mean, why? I'm a boy! And then he said that we have been rivals since we were babies. Didn't we meet each other yesterday?"
"Yeah. He asked me what my name was, and then showed me a picture of me and said we've been rivals too. Why?"
"I have no idea."
"Look, you wanna have that battle now?" Gary asked me.
"Ok Dunghead."
