Chapter 14 : Invading Wanna Be Mettaton's Base
~ Victor's POV ~ (A/N Stop being mad that you don't get to find out more about Jin~Kun. Stop it. Just stop. Please. I beg you.)
Patrick I think you ate to many cookies. I thought silently, grunting as I flew through the sky. Patrick clung harshly to my back, desperate not to fall off. We flew through the air after the electric dragon, but we made sure that we were out of his sight at all times. I was making sure that I stayed just above the clouds to conceal Patrick and myself, keeping an eye out for anything that looked like a base. However, all I could see down below was gold blocks with patches of sand here and there. I noticed that the farther I flew, the rarer the sand patches seemed.
Suddenly, I bumped into a giant block of gold, causing me to yelp in surprise and transform back into myself. Before Patrick could scream and alert all of Minecraftia that the sky was falling, I shape shifted back into a dragon and caught him, quickly covering his mouth. He released a few muffled screams before he calmed down, but, eventually, I watched his breathing regulate. I uncovered his mouth and put him on my back, while I slowly drifted down to the golden ground beneath me.
Turning back into myself, I shoved Patrick off of me, which caused him to take a few steps back. Since he was a good few inches taller than me, his feet were set firmly on the ground after I had shapeshifted. Grateful that I didn't have horribly tired wings anymore, though I did have a sore back instead, I nodded towards the entrance. Patrick, who seemed to have gotten the message, nodded, and pulled out his staff. I laid a hand on my diamond sword, and advanced towards the doorway. Before we could get in the building, a large fire dragon walked casually out the door into the hot dessert air. Seeing this, I shoved Patrick against the wall and covered my mouth to silence my breathing.
The dragon turned it's head towards us and looked around as if it heard us breathing. (A/N Fun fact: The sentence it was originally gonna put "The dragon turned it's head towards us and stared deep into our souls, as if he had sensed our presence with his mind reading abilities and thought we smelt like mentos." Then I wondered how many brain cells I had left.) I silently prayed to Notch that, if he existed, to protect us from harm. The blazing red dragon let out a huff, and then he flew away, leaving Patrick and I alive and healthy. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding, and Patrick sighed in relief.
"There's going to be other dragons in that place. What do we do?" I asked quietly in case any more dragons were nearby. Patrick simply shrugged.
"I'm not the smart one here Victor. We both know this. Mr. Lewis hates me." Patrick stated the obvious, reminding me of our math teacher, Mr. Lewis. I was his teacher's pet, but Patrick was miserable at math and he and Lillian always found a way around the rules of school to mess with the teachers and their plans for the day. This, of course, made them the school's 'bad boy and bad girl', which made the rest of the Pride the cool kids, even though I was a nerd. I took a moment to think about everything we could do, and all of the possible outcomes, but that was pretty difficult when we didn't even know what the inside of Gold Steve's base looked like.
"Ok, you made a lava dragon with your 'magic staff of power' right?" I asked curiously, using air quotes.
"Yeah." Patrick replied.
"Do you think you could do it again and be inside the dragon?" I wondered.
"What are you getting at?" Patrick questioned. Three minutes later, I was a nature dragon and Patrick was surrounded by molten rock, but he had eye holes. As a shapeshifter, I can speak what ever language the mob I turned into speaks. However, Patrick didn't shapeshift, therefore he still speaks English, so we were going to have to pretend that he's mute.
"Ready?" I asked in English. Patrick made the lava dragon nod. "Okay. Let's do this."
~Lillian's POV (A/N Because everything is more fun in Lillian's POV.)~
"So what's your story?" Glacier asked.
"Rebecca, Sparks, and I were traveling with 4 other friends. Rebecca flew off to look ahead and Dillion found her and attacked her. She flew back to us and alerted us about it, so me being me got on Dillion's back and we flew off to confront Dillion. I was reckless and we ended up here." I replied.
"Where are your other friends?" Inferno questioned with deep concern.
"Probably on their way way to save us," I sighed before whispering, "While I'm just stuck hoping they don't get hurt."
"What's your story?" Sparkz asked the other dragons.
"I'm looking for an old friend of mine, so I travel as much as I can to find 'em." Inferno sighed. "Then I came here to the dessert, and... yeah. Here I am."
"Well, when I was around seven, I was used by parents to illegally smuggle things, and I didn't know. My parents eventually got arrested and imprisoned and now they're probably in the mines, looking for diamonds." Cloud shrugged, giving a small smile. "NEXT!!"
"Well, I haven't seen my dad since I was young, and so I used to live with my mom. Until I ran away, that is. I ran away because she decided that it would be a great idea to put a pair of ice dragons in the dessert. I had my own opinion. It's been a few years, so I decided to visit her, but I ended up here." Glacier explained, huffing a little and lied down.
"Hmm. I'm the daughter of the West Queen's advisor, my dad. I'm one of-" Cloud was cut off by a rather reckless girl, me.
"Wait. YOU'RE the daughter of the West Queen's advisor? Aren't you also the most powerful dragon in the West Kingdom other than your dad and the Royal Family?" I asked in shock.
"Uh... I-I uh... I don't call myself that but... So I've been told, yeah?" Cloud shrugged modestly.
"My grandpa has told me a lot about you! He travels to the West Kingdom quite often. He has an old friend who lives- er... Well, he used to live there. He pasted away last year. He was quite the dragon." I sighed, remembering the death of Little Lachy. Dragons can live for a long time, and Grandpa Lachlan had expected to see more years with his good pal, but, unlike Grandpa Lachlan, Little Lachy had aged by a thousand years since Grandpa had last seen him. Little Lachy died to the hands of an evil sorcerer, who was then killed by Grandpa Lachlan to avenge his friend.
"Which dragon?" Cloud asked curiously.
"Prince Lachy." I answered. Every dragon in the room except for Sparkz and Cloud gasped.
"I figured. Prince Lachy was only close to one human being, and that human looks very similar to you. It would also make sense of why you were taught the language of dragons. You are related to Water Master Power, correct?" Cloud asked, wisdom lining her young voice. I nodded. "Then it must be safe to assume that you are Water Controller Power."
Again, I nodded at her words, knowing that I had not yet mastered my powers. I know that my friends were going to go to any length to find us, and save us. I just hope that they don't die doing so.
Have a blessed day and night. Merry Christmas!!
