Closing the distance-Tam's POV

A/N: Hello there! Thanks for over 500 views! You make me feel so accomplished! Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that chances are, the POV's are mostly going to be Sophie/Tam. Other character's POV's may still be included, just more sparse in between. Now, onto the fluff!

After Elwin ran into the room and awkwardly out, I pulled Sophie even closer to me.

"Tam?"

"Hmm?"

"What's going to happen?"

"What do you mean?"

She took a deep breath, and stared up into my eyes.

Her sweet, liquid honey eyes, they brimmed with unshed tears.

I gently stroked her cheek, and then let my hand trail off.

I still don't know if she feels the same way as I do.

"Your foot. You're not going to be able to walk properly for a few months at least. I knew someone in the Forbidden Cities who had to get their foot amputated, and they couldn't walk straight for awhile Tam."

I stiffened, and looked over Sophie's head, at the wall farthest from us.

She felt it, and snuggled deeper into my chest.

"It's going to be more dangerous for you to fight the Neverseen with your foot like that. I don't want you to get hurt again, because of me."

I looked down, and saw that tears had seeped from Sophie's eyes, and they stained her cheeks.

Gently, I wiped them off her shiny cheeks, and cradled her face in my hands.

"Sophie. It's not your fault that Fintan's fire did this to me. It's no one's fault except for Fintan. Don't blame yourself. I don't, and if anyone should blame you, it's me."

She still hesitated.

"Sophie."

My voice dropped down to a hoarse whisper.

"If I don't blame you, then no one can or should. And if they do, I'll get Dex to make me a Sucker Kicker."

I softly blinked at her, hoping she could hear the sincerity in my voice.

Sure, I was a little annoyed that I lost my foot, but, Sophie was safe, and I'm pretty sure she would have died, so....

Everything would be okay.

Sophie was still staring at me, her blonde hair falling into her eyes, and I tucked it behind her ears.

She breathed with me, and I cherished every movement.

This is how I know I'm alive.

The warmth that I get when I'm with Sophie.

She parted her pink lips and whispered,

"Okay Tam."

I longed to kiss her, but I still wasn't sure if she felt the same way I felt about her, so I just traced her features with my eyes, soaking in everything.

I wasn't sure if I would ever get another chance.

My heart was pounding, and I'm pretty sure Sophie felt it, because her hand had moved up and it was now covering my heart.

Eyes closed, and leaning on my chest, Sophie looked beautiful half-asleep.

Her eyes cracked open, sensing I was looking at her, and she shifted.

I smiled sadly, and her eyes popped open, looking worried.

Taking a deep breath, she told me to close my eyes.

I obliged, wondering what she had up her sleeve.

There was some movement, and suddenly, a heavy weight was on my lap.

I popped open my eyes this time, and there was Sophie, sitting side-saddle on my lap, and she reached up to hold my face.

Her fingers played along my jawline, and I gulped every time they tapped.

Sophie barely leaned in, but she shortened the distance between our faces enough so that I was breathing the same air she was breathing.

And then she gently brushed her lips against my cheek at the last second, and snuggled in.

Well, that was a start.

A/N: Welp. There's the Sophie we know. And love. Oh well.... ):)
