A surprise visit-Sophie's POV
A/N: I'm going to be taking a short break from writing so I can plan the plot. But here's an update!
Tears leaking from my eyes, I ran down the hallway, almost running Dex down.
"Sophie?"
"Where are you going? Are you okay?"
I turned to him.
"Dex, I need to be alone right now. Please. I'll be okay, but right now, I- I need to be alone. Bye."
Pulling out my pathfinder, I shouted for home before Dex could get a word out, and stepped into the light.
I need to get home.
I can't handle all of this....
Fitz picked Linh....
I can't even help Keefe.
I don't know how to.
I'm not cut out to be the Moonlark that saves the day every time.
I can't do anything right.
I'm so sorry.
Arriving at Havenfield, I ran towards across the fields, but then someone materialized in front of me, and I crashed into them, falling to the ground.
Ugh. You can't even cry in your room without making a mess.
"Sophie? Oh no! I'm so sorry, I just leapt here, and....."
I looked up, and saw Tam staring worriedly into my face, looking embarrassed. He reached a hand towards me and I took it, pulling myself up.
Once I was on my feet though, I couldn't bring myself to let go of his hand, and just stood there awkwardly, staring at our clasped hands, flushing a bit.
Sophie. Snap out of it.
I dropped his hand, and looked down at my feet, rocking back and forth.
I glanced up at Tam suddenly, wondering why he was here.
"Uh, Tam?"
"Yeah Sophie?"
"Why are you here? You don't normally come here.....alone....."
He suddenly looked even more embarrassed and I think his cheeks darkened.
"I came here to ask you something....in person. But if now isn't a good time, then I can go."
I bit my lip.
I do want to cry, but what's so important that he needed to leap to my house?
In the end, my curiosity won, and I invited him over.
"We can go up to my room. I think Edaline made ripplepuffs earlier."
"Oh. I brought mallowmelt...."
My eyes brightened, and I reached my hands towards Tam, wanting the treat.
"Can I?"
He laughed, and shook his head, bangs quivering.
"You'll have to talk with me first."
I frowned.
"Boo. You're just like Keefe."
His eyes darkened, but the smile stayed on his face.
"No I'm not. My hair is better."
A small laugh escaped my lips, and we walked towards my house, chattering and laughing the entire way.
I was still sad, but somehow, Tam made it better.
And the promise of mallowmelt.
That was the best part.
A/N: Fluff? And what's he going to say to Sophie? Hmmmmm....... I wonder.
