Chapter Twenty-Three: The Sweet Life
For a while, (Y/N)'s life was normal.
They'd get up and ready early, waking their family at exactly 7:30 AM. Their siblings were easily awoken and ready to go. Not so much their parents. The casual morning routine included pushing Yamada off the bed so he'd yell loud enough to wake up Aizawa.
The group would carpool together to UA High. (Y/N) and Eri would hangout on campus until 8:45 and then the two would circulate through the classrooms. Usually, they would start from the General Studies classes and work their way up. Today, they decided to join Shinso's class for the first period. Since most of it was writing notes, Eri got bored and they moved to class 1-B instead.
"Look who it is!" Monoma greets, leaning on (Y/N)'s shoulder, "My sibling from another father!"
Though, this wasn't something Monoma did before despite knowing their quirk all along, (Y/N) thought it was nice of him to act like family.
"Good morning, Monoma."
Eri runs around the class asking the class questions. Eventually, around 45 minutes into the class, Eri rushes over to (Y/N).
"(Y/N)!" Theysqueals, "Kendo told me that you helped them become better heroes!"
The adult grins as the memory comes back, "Yeah, when I was still a toddler."
Eri's eyes sparkle brighter, "That's so cool!"
"You're right it is!" Tetsutetsu exclaims, "They're the reason we're all still here!"
Kendo nods, "They taught us alternate uses for our quirks and exposed our weaknesses in an elaborate team exercise!"
Vlad enters with a cake in his hands, "We've wanted to do this for you for a while, but we're just never gotten the chance."
Tears come to the assistant's eyes as the entire class approaches, forming a group hug.
"If it wasn't for you (Y/N)," Monoma began, "I wouldn't be allowed to be here. You taught me better than who I was being."
"You got me to push past my so-called limits!" Tetsutetus said, cracking his knuckles.
"I was able to summon so many mushrooms, like never before!" Komori exclaimed.
After the students thanked (Y/N) for their contribution to their heroism, the two siblings moved on to the next class, 1-A. Upon entering, the class happily turned to them.
"Good morning, (Y/N) and Eri!" They cheered.
Today, the class was working on review for a test on universal hero codewords, so it's pretty silent.
"(Y/N), you're in-charge," Aizawa says, "I have to go for a few moments."
For the first few minutes with Aizawa's absence, the class is quiet. But meanwhile, the League of Villains are planning.
"Dabi, are you sure about this?" Spinner questions, "That little brat's gonna see this coming."
"What other choice do we have?" The scarred man replies, "Shigaraki is wiped out and guilt is the only thing on his mind now. We have to force his hand."
"But we've already done this, they faked us out."
"Then we change the approach."
"How?"
"You'll be stationed outside UA while Twice and I keep the dad(s) distracted by fighting. Compress will put (Y/N) into a crystal ball and we'll bring them back home. That's the only way to get the boss back. I don't care if he murders them for betraying us but at least it'll get him to do something other than mope."
The two stare at their leader as he lays on the couch in their base. Drinks and empty takeout boxes line the floor. Shigaraki's tear-stained eyes have seemed to start bleeding. For the past few weeks, he's done nothing but mope. His anger overwhelms him and he tends to yell at his comrades. The villains have no idea what to do next without him.
They need (Y/N) to continue their work.
"Hey, boss." Twice suddenly appears, pushing past Dabi and Spinner to get to Shigaraki, "(Y/N)'s gotten their hero license, did ya hear?"
The man sits up, glaring at the three, "Get the fuck out!" He throws a bottle of vodka at them.
They shut the door on him as the bottle shatters against it.
"We've gotta move faster."

Back at UA, (Y/N) is helping some students with "extra help." They're mostly showing them more applications for their quirks, so they're outside. Class has finally ended, so they gathers their things.
"(Y/N)!" One of them calls, "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Is it true that you could understand and control your powers from birth?"
They chuckled, "Oh no, it took time and patience to do that. It was hard but I eventually got the hang of them with the help of my brother and dad."
"All for One?"
"Yes, him."
"Isn't he a villain?"
"Sadly...yes."
"And you're not?"
"No, of course not."
"Good, because then who would be offering this extra help?" The student chuckles, leaving (Y/N) to think.
They soon headed out to class 1-A's dorms. Tonight was game night, so they brought some games. Such as, UNO, Balloon Pop, etc.
Everything was normal.
Party music was playing on the TV as everyone is playing games in different groups together. Everyone, including Bakugo, was having fun and laughing.
"Well, guess this is what it would've been like if we played UNO with you when you were still a toddler." Uraraka chuckles as (Y/N) wins another round.
"I guess so."
The game night continued 'till around 9:30 PM, then suddenly the news comes on and interrupts the music.
"Breaking news: A riot has broken out in downtown Musutafu. Police are unable to identify the group that started these riots but police are assuming it may be the League of Villains."
Everyone immediately turns their attention to the TV. It shows live footage of everything going on. There are fires everywhere and people are frightened. A familiar fire-bending man rushes by the camera, being chased by another familiar face, Shigaraki. (Y/N) audibly gasps, as did the others who realizes. The cameraman also does, so he gets closer. Shigaraki notices this and charges over taking the camera away.
"You heroes took everything from me. So now, I'll take everything from you."
He throws the camera to the ground and it shows the cameraman getting disintegrated by Shigaraki.
"See you soon, (Y/N)."
The camera feed cuts off and everyone is left in shock. The news reporters can't even speak, so the broadcast completely stops. The room is stunned by the events that just unfolded in front of them.
"(Y/N)," Aizawa says, "We have to hide you."
"No, this is my mess, I can handle it."
She pushes past their siblings and classmates, leaving UA.
"(Y/N)!"
Eri's voice stops the (E/C)-eyed person in their tracks. Their anger steadys as they turn to face everyone.
"Don't get hurt. Please."
(Y/N) smiles, patting their sister's head, "I'll try. I'll be back soon."
"We're coming with you."
The entirety of class 1-A steps forward. Although (Y/N) wants to argue with them, they feel it might be best to let them help. If anything were to happen, they'd be there to save the day.
"Let's go."
