Chapter 47

Third person's pov

After 2 days, both Jungkook and the baby were allowed to go home. They named the baby "Minjae," which means smart and talented.

Right now, Jungkook was settled comfortably in a rocking chair, the gentle back-and-forth motion lulling him into a peaceful state. Minjae was nestled in his lap, bundled in the softest, fluffiest blankets they could find.

The baby's wide eyes took in his new surroundings with curiosity, his little hands occasionally emerging from the blankets to grasp at the air.

Around Jungkook, the family sat on the carpeted floor, forming a protective circle around the new addition. Soohyun, Heejin, Taewon, Sujae, and Hyunjae all watched the baby with rapt attention.

Jungkook smiled down at Minjae, adjusting his hold so the baby was in a sitting position. "Minjae, that's your Soohyun noona," he said softly, pointing towards Soohyun.

Minjae's eyes followed Jungkook's finger, and when he saw Soohyun's smiling face, he let out a series of delighted giggles. His little hands waved in the air as if trying to reach out to her.

Soohyun leaned in closer, her fingers gently brushing against Minjae's tiny hand.

Jungkook continued, pointing to each family member in turn. "And this is Heejin, your other noona," he said. Heejin waved enthusiastically, with a huge grin.

"Hey there, little prince, I can't wait to spoil you with all my love," Heejin cooed.

Jungkook then pointed to Taewon. "This is your big brother, Taewon."

Taewon smiled and blew flying kisses in Minjae's direction making him wiggle in Jungkook's arms.

Jungkook moved his finger to Sujae next. "And this is Sujae, your other big brother."

"Hey baby, I already know that I will be your favourite sibling."

Lastly, Jungkook pointed to Hyunjae. "And this is Hyunjae, your eldest brother."

Hyunjae's face softened with emotion and he kissed Minjae's little toes.

Minjae's gaze shifted from one family member to the next, his giggles and coos increasing. His little hands reached out, his fingers curling and uncurling.

Taewon, unable to contain his love any longer, stood up and reached out his hands. "I want to hold him," he said eagerly.

Jungkook carefully handed Minjae to Taewon, ensuring the baby was securely supported.

Taewon sat back down, cradling Minjae gently in his arms. "Hey, baby," he said softly.

Minjae responded with a series of delighted giggles, his tiny hands reaching up to touch Taewon's face. Taewon laughed, "You're such a happy little boba," he said, gently bouncing Minjae in his arms.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Taehyung walked in, carrying Jungkook's medicines and water. Minjae's eyes immediately locked onto his appa. His little face scrunched up, and he started to fuss, his tiny arms reaching out towards Taehyung.

Taewon tried to soothe him, bouncing him gently and whispering comforting words, but Minjae's cries grew louder. "It's okay," Taewon said, glancing up at Taehyung with a helpless smile.

Taehyung quickly set the tray down and moved to Taewon's side, "Hey there, my love," he said softly, reaching out to take the baby from Taewon.

As soon as Minjae was in Taehyung's arms, his cries turned into soft whimpers, and he snuggled close to his appa's chest.

"There we go," Taehyung murmured, gently rocking Minjae back and forth. "Appa's here. Everything's okay."

The family watched, their hearts melting at the sight of Taehyung and Minjae together. Jungkook, still in the rocking chair, smiled warmly. "He's definitely a daddy's boy."

Taehyung chuckled, his eyes never leaving Minjae's face. "He just knows who is the coolest," he said, pressing a gentle kiss to the baby's forehead.

Hours later, as the night deepened, Jungkook and Taehyung found themselves alone with Minjae. The rest of the family had retired to their rooms, leaving the new parents to enjoy some quiet time with their baby.

Jungkook sat back in the rocking chair, exhausted but happy. Taehyung stood nearby, gently swaying back and forth with Minjae in his arms. The baby's tiny eyes were half-closed, his little mouth occasionally opening and closing as he fought off sleep.

"Today was perfect," Jungkook said softly, his eyes never leaving Minjae's face.

Taehyung nodded, his expression tender.

Minjae let out a soft coo, his little hand reaching up to touch Taehyung's face. Taehyung smiled, leaning down to kiss the baby's tiny fingers. "This is just the beginning of our beautiful journey together."

With those words, Taehyung carefully placed Minjae in Jungkook's arms. The baby stirred slightly, his little hands reaching out to grasp at the air before settling back against Jungkook's chest.

Jungkook smiled down at Minjae, "Now, let's get this pretty angel to sleep," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to the baby's forehead.

It had been a few days since Minjae's arrival, and the house had transformed into a haven of baby paraphernalia.

Toys, clothes, and accessories for Minjae seemed to multiply daily. Everyone's phone screens now proudly displayed a picture of their baby.

Today, Soohyun, Heejin, Hyunjae and Sujae were at a baby store, to shop for the baby. Sujae held up a tiny accessory, placing it on his own head to show Soohyun. "This will look adorable on him, right?"

Soohyun smiled and pinched Sujae's cheek. "If it looks good on you, it will look good on him too. After all, you're also a baby," she teased.

Sujae chuckled and started acting even more adorable, making faces and batting his eyelashes. Hyunjae, standing nearby, ruffled Sujae's hair affectionately. "Someone's puppy is lost," he joked, causing another round of giggles.

After browsing through the store and picking out more clothes and toys for Minjae, they decided to schedule a family photoshoot to capture these precious moments.

When the day of the photoshoot arrived, the mansion was a choatic mess.

Jungkook was in their bedroom, struggling to get ready. Taehyung was in the shower, and Minjae was fussing every time Jungkook tried to put him down in his crib or on the bed. The baby's cries echoed through the room, his little arms flailing.

Taewon, already dressed and ready, walked into the room and offered to help. "I'm ready, eomma. I can take him," he said, reaching out for Minjae.

Whenever Heejin, Soohyun, or Taewon called him eomma, Jungkook felt a wave of overwhelming love.

He smiled, patting Taewon's cheek before handing Minjae over to him. "Thank you, Taewon," he said, finally able to get dressed.

Taewon cradled Minjae gently, bouncing him lightly to soothe him. "Shh, it's okay, Minjae. Appa and eomma will be ready soon," Minjae's cries quieted, and he snuggled into Taewon's arms.

Once everyone was dressed and ready, they gathered in the living room, waiting for Hyunjae to come downstairs.

"Hyung, come quick! We're already late!" Taewon shouted up the stairs, his voice carrying through the house.

A moment later, Hyunjae appeared, carrying a small box in his hands. Heejin looked at him and then the box. "What's that?" she asked.

Hyunjae smiled, "It's a gift for everyone," he said, setting the box down on the coffee table. As he opened it, they saw eight heart-shaped necklaces inside, each one gleaming under the light.

"Last time, I bought these when we were a family of three," Hyunjae explained. "Now we're a family of eight. I thought it was time for an update."

Taewon's eyes widened with suprise. "Wah, they're so pretty!" he exclaimed, his fingers reaching out to touch the delicate jewellery.

Hyunjae smiled warmly and set the box aside. He carefully picked up each necklace and made everyone wear it, one by one. As he put the necklace around Jungkook's neck, Jungkook felt so emotional.

He told Hyunjae to bent down and kissed his forehead, pulling him into a tight hug. "I couldn't have asked for a better son," he whispered.

"And I couldn't have asked for a better mother." Hyunja replied, wiping Jungkook's tears.

Minjae was too young for the necklace, and they didn't want him putting it in his mouth, so they decided to wait until he was older.

The family arrived at the photoshoot venue, a picturesque garden filled with vibrant flowers, charming pathways, and a pond with a beautifully decorated boat.

The setting was perfect for capturing the precious moments they were about to create.

The photographer greeted them warmly, directing them to the first setup for the family pictures.

"Alright, everyone, let's gather around," the photographer instructed, positioning them carefully. Jungkook held Minjae, who was wide-eyed and curious, his tiny hands clutching at Jungkook's shirt.

As they settled into their positions, Taehyung stood beside Jungkook, his arm around his waist. Soohyun and Heejin were on either side, with Hyunjae, Taewon, and Sujae filling in the gaps.

They all wore matching coloured outfits, each adorned with their new heart-shaped necklaces.

"Ready? One, two, three... smile!" the photographer called out.

As they took a few more shots, things started to get a bit chaotic. During one of the setups, Minjae reached out and grabbed a fistful of Heejin's hair, tugging hard. Heejin winced but managed to keep smiling, trying to gently pry his fingers away.

"Baby, let go of noona's hair," Jungkook said softly, trying to loose Minjae's grip.

Minjae, not understanding, pulled even harder, and then began to cry, his face scrunching up as tears welled in his eyes. The happy atmosphere shifted as everyone tried to calm him down.

Taewon started making funny faces and silly noises to distract Minjae. "Look here, Minjae! Peek-a-boo!" he said, hiding his face behind his hands and then popping out again. But Minjae was inconsolable, his cries growing louder.

Jungkook bounced him gently, patting his back and murmuring soothing words. "Shh, it's okay, baby. Don't cry," he whispered, kissing the top of Minjae's head.

Soohyun joined in, gently tickling Minjae's feet. "Come on, little one, give us a smile."

After what felt like an eternity, they finally managed to get Minjae to calm down. Taehyung held up a colorful rattle, shaking it in front of Minjae's face. The baby's cries turned into curious whimpers, his eyes following the rattle's movements.

"That's it, Minjae, look at the rattle,"

Hyunjae took over, continuing to distract Minjae with funny faces and noises until, finally, the baby let out a giggle and they quickly resumed the photoshoot, capturing the precious moment.

"Perfect, we got it!" the photographer announced, showing them the adorable shots of Minjae giggling in his family's arms.

With the family pictures done, it was time for Jungkook and Taehyung's couple photoshoot. The setting for this was a beautifully decorated flower boat floating in the pond, surrounded by lilies and other water plants.

The scene was straight out of a fairytale.

Taehyung stepped into the boat first, his movements careful. He turned and extended his hand to Jungkook, a warm smile on his face. "Come on, love," he said softly.

Jungkook took Taehyung's hand, and stepped into the boat. As soon as he was in, he wrapped his arms around Taehyung's neck, seeking balance. Taehyung's hands settled on Jungkook's waist, steadying him.

The photographer started snapping pictures, capturing their moments. Jungkook and Taehyung gazed into each other's eyes. They shared soft kisses and whispered words of love.

At one point, as they shifted slightly to change poses, the boat rocked dangerously. Jungkook let out a startled yelp, clutching Taehyung tightly. "Ahh!"

Taehyung laughed, his grip on Jungkook tightening. "I've got you. Just hold on to me," he said reassuringly.

The photographer, capturing every moment, couldn't help but chuckle at the scene. "Alright, let's try a few more shots before we lose you two to the pond," he joked.

They resumed their poses, the boat swaying gently but staying upright. The laughter between Jungkook and Taehyung made for some of the most beautiful and candid photos of the day.

Years passed swiftly, and Minjae, now a four-year-old, was the heart of the family. Everyone in the family adored him, spoiling him with endless love and attention.

Minjae had a special name for each family member: Taehyung was "Appa," Jungkook was "Pretty," Hyunjae was "Hwungie," Sujae was "Jae," Soohyun was "Soo Noona," Heejin was "Heji," and Taewon was "Wonnie."

Today was a big day for Minjae - his first day of preschool.

Minjae sat on his chair, kicking his legs excitedly. The kitchen was busy as Jungkook moved around, serving breakfast.

As he placed a plate of pancakes in front of Minjae, he clapped happily and said, "Ankie, Pretty!" Which means "Thank you Pretty!"

He reached up, his small hand brushing against Jungkook's cheek in a sweet gesture. Jungkook leaned down and kissed Minjae's cheek, causing the little boy to giggle.

Around the table, the mood was somber.

Taehyung sat beside Minjae, his eyes red and puffy from crying. "You're really going to send him away?" Taehyung said as he looked at Jungkook with teary eyes.

Jungkook sighed and smacked Taehyung lightly on the head. "Don't be so dramatic, Tae. It's just four hours."

Taehyung sniffled and rubbed his eyes. "But it feels like forever."

Jungkook picked up Minjae, placing him on his lap and feeding him small bites of pancake. "Say 'ankie' again, Mini," he said gently.

"Ankie!" Minjae chirped, planting a sticky kiss on Jungkook's cheek. Jungkook smiled warmly and continued feeding him.

Soohyun, sitting beside them, picked up a piece of pancake and held it out to Jungkook. "Here, eomma. You need to eat too," she said, her eyes misty.

Jungkook opened his mouth and took a bite, "Thank you sweetie."

After breakfast, it was time for Minjae to leave for preschool. Taehyung was fully crying now, his tears flowing freely. Hyunjae was trying hard not to cry, his lips pressed tightly together. Sujae, hugging Minjae tightly, sobbed into his shoulder.

Soohyun stood nearby, wiping her eyes with a tissue while Heejin, looking at Minjae's cute little backpack, let out soft sobs.

Jungkook clapped his hands to get everyone's attention,"Yah! Everyone stop crying. It's not like he's going off to a war."

Minjae looked around, his big eyes wide with concern as he took in the tearful faces of his family. "Mini okay, no no cry," he repeated, again and again.

Taehyung kissed Minjae's head multiple times, his tears wetting the boy's hair. "I love you so much, Minjae. Be good, okay?"

With shaking hands, Hyunjae knelt down and helped Minjae put on his backpack. "It's not a military bag, Hyunie," Jungkook said.

Taewon, sobbing badly, looked at Jungkook with pleading eyes. "Can't we wait a littl-le longer?"

Jungkook wiped Taewon's tears with a gentle hand. "Oh God, what's wrong with you all?" he said, shaking his head.

"Minjae, say bye to your siblings and appa."

Minjae smiled and waved his little hand. "Bwe bwe!"

Jungkook picked Minjae up and carried him to the car. "Why are they so dramatic, Mini?" he asked, looking into his son's eyes.

Minjae shrugged and said in his adorable voice, "Mini don't kwno."

Jungkook chuckled, pressing his forehead against Minjae's. "You're so cute."

The drive to preschool was peaceful. Minjae sat in his car seat, swinging his legs and humming a little tune. Jungkook kept glancing at him in the rearview mirror, smiling at the sight.

When they arrived, Jungkook parked the car and unbuckled Minjae. "Ready, Mini?" he asked, lifting him out of the car seat and setting him on the ground.

Minjae nodded, his eyes wide as he looked around the busy preschool entrance. Jungkook took his hand, and together, they walked toward the building.

Inside, a friendly teacher greeted them. "Welcome, Minjae! We're so happy to have you here," she said, bending down to Minjae's level.

Minjae looked up at Jungkook, seeking reassurance. "Pretty, you stwy?"

Jungkook knelt beside him, smoothing down his hair. "I'll stay until you're settled, okay? Then I'll come back to pick you up later."

Minjae nodded, his little hand gripping Jungkook's tightly. They followed the teacher into the classroom, where a group of children were playing with blocks and toys. Minjae got excited at the sight, and he let go of Jungkook's hand, moving toward the toys with an excited bounce.

Jungkook watched as Minjae joined a group of kids building a tower of blocks.

After a few minutes, the teacher came over to Jungkook. "He's fitting right in. You can leave now if you'd like. We'll take good care of him."

Jungkook's heart ached a little as he watched Minjae, but he knew he had no choice but to leave him there. He bent down and kissed Minjae's cheek. "I'll see you later, baby. Have fun, okay?"

Minjae nodded, barely glancing up as he focused on his game. "Bwe bwe, Pretty!"

Jungkook smiled, waving goodbye before heading toward the door. As he walked out of the preschool, he felt tears coming out. His little boy was growing up so fast.

Back home, the house felt unusually quiet. Taehyung was still sniffling, his eyes red and swollen from crying. "How was it?" he asked as Jungkook walked in.

Jungkook smiled softly, wrapping his arms around Taehyung. "He was so brave, Tae. He's going to do great."

Taehyung nodded, leaning into Jungkook's embrace. "I just miss him already."

"Four hours will pass soon bear."

────୨ৎ────

When the time came to pick up Minjae, Jungkook and Taehyung drove to the preschool together. As they walked into the classroom, they saw Minjae playing happily with his new friends. When he spotted them, his face lit up, and he ran toward them with open arms.

"Pretty! Appa!" he called out, jumping into Jungkook's arms.

Jungkook hugged him tightly, "Did you have fun, my love?"

Minjae nodded. "Mini had fun! Made fwiends!"

Taehyung kissed Minjae's cheek, "We missed you, our little prince."

Minjae wrapped his arms around both of them, "Mini mwsed you too. Wove chu, Pretty. Wove chu, Appa."

Then they headed back to the Park mansion.

The living room was festooned with balloons of every color, streamers hanging from the ceiling, and a big banner that read "Minjae's First Day of Preschool" in bright, cheerful letters.

There were gifts piled up in one corner, and a large cake with "Congratulations, Minjae!" written in icing was prominently displayed on the table.

As Taehyung, Jungkook, and Minjae entered the room, Minjae's eyes went wide.

Minjae let out an excited squeal and immediately ran towards his siblings, who were waiting eagerly. His tiny feet pattered against the floor, and his arms reached out for them.

"Boba!" Taewon called, sweeping Minjae up and tossing him gently into the air. "My baby did it! You're such a big boy now!"

Minjae giggled uncontrollably, his little hands flailing in excitement. "Ankie, Wonnie!" he squealed, thanking Taewon.

The siblings gathered around, showering Minjae with kisses on his face and hands.

Soohyun pulled him into her lap. "How was your day, strawberry? Did anyone bother you? Did you make friends?" she asked, brushing a lock of hair from his forehead.

Minjae, still giggling, nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, Soo Noona! Lots of fwiends! We pwayed and dwan!"

Sujae clapped his hands. "Well, we have a special cake for our little prince. Let's cut it together!"

They all gathered around the table, and Minjae, with a bit of help from Soohyun, held the knife and cut into the cake. As the first slice was cut, everyone burst into applause.

"Ankie, ankie!" Minjae said, thanking them again. He clapped his hands.

As they all stood up from the table, Hyunjae suddenly swooped in and picked Jungkook up, much to his surprise. Jungkook yelped a little, his arms instinctively wrapping around Hyunjae's shoulders.

"Hyunjae, what are you doing?" he exclaimed, laughing.

Hyunjae smirked and adjusted Jungkook in his arms for a more comfortable hold. "So, baby boo, you were calling us dramatic this morning, huh?"

Sujae said, "Yeah, baby boo needs a punishment!"

Jungkook chuckled, his laughter bubbling up. "Oh no, what are you going to do?"

Before he could say anything more, Taewon grabbed a little bit of cake with her hands and smeared it across Jungkook's face. "It tickles!" Jungkook giggled.

Soon everyone was joining in, smearing cake on Jungkook's face. Heejin, seeing the fun, ran to grab her phone. "Everyone, look at the camera!" she called out, positioning herself to capture the moment.

Jungkook, still giggling in Hyunjae's arms, looked towards Heejin, his face covered in icing and crumbs. Taehyung was next to him, a grin on his face as he continued to add more cake to Jungkook's cheeks. Taewon was laughing so hard he could barely stand, while Soohyun was poised to put a bit of cake on Taehyung's face.

Minjae, standing in the middle of the room with his favorite teddy bear clutched tightly in his small hands, wore a cute smile.

"Smile!" Heejin called out, making a peace sign.

The camera clicked, capturing this precious, chaotic, and heartwarming moment. It was a picture that would be cherished forever.

────୨ৎ────

The years passed quickly, filled with love, joy, and precious moments. Now, forty years had gone by. Life had been kind to Taehyung and Jungkook, blessing them with a family that brought endless happiness.

However, the time had come to say goodbye to a beloved soul.

In a silent and beautiful graveyard, the gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the ancient oak trees that stood sentinel around the graves.

Birds chirped softly, their melodies blending with the soft rustle of the leaves, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Taehyung now in his 80s, stood by a grave, his movements slow but gentle. His once dark hair was now silver, and deep lines marked his face.

Taehyung smiled a little, his wrinkled hands placing a bouquet of their favorite flowers-sunflowers and lilies-on the grave on which was written, "Kim Jungkook. 1981-2064."

He knelt down, his knees creaking with the effort, and gently brushed his fingers over the engraved letters.

"I miss you every day, Jungkook," Taehyung whispered softy, "Please take me with you."

As he straightened up, his mind drifted back through the years, recalling every cherished memory.

Turning away from the grave, Taehyung felt an unusual sensation, as if the air around him had shifted. He closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, the world seemed to shimmer and blur. The graveyard faded into a field of wildflowers, vibrant and full of life. The scent of fresh blooms filled the air, and the sun felt warmer, more golden.

Taehyung, now feeling lighter and more youthful, looked down at his hands. They were no longer wrinkled with age but smooth and strong, like they had been decades ago. He was young again, a teenager.

As he took in his surroundings, his eyes fell upon a figure standing amidst the flowers.

It was Jungkook, not the old Jungkook with wrinkles and white hair, but the teenage Jungkook Taehyung had fallen in love with sixty-four years ago. Jungkook was as beautiful as ever, his eyes sparkling with the same youthful mischief and love that had always captivated Taehyung.

Jungkook smiled as he extended his hand towards Taehyung.

"You came, love?" Taehyung asked, with teary eyes.

Jungkook nodded, his smile soft and loving. "You called," he replied simply. "Now let's go."

Taehyung took Jungkook's hand. The touch was warm and familiar, grounding him in this new reality. Together, they walked through the field of flowers, the colors around them becoming more vibrant and ethereal with each step.

As they walked, the world behind them faded away, and they entered a realm unseen by mortal eyes. It was a place of eternal youth and happiness, where time had no meaning, and love was the only constant.

The end of their earthly journey and marked the beginning of an everlasting one. Hand in hand, Taehyung and Jungkook walked into a world where they would never be apart again.

They had started a new chapter, one that would never end.
