Chapter 15

Third person's pov

Jungkook paced nervously in his room, he couldn't get the image of Sunghoon's smug face out of his mind, nor the feeling humiliation from the Park family's accusations. He rubbed his temples, trying to calm himself, but the anxiety gnawed at him relentlessly.

The door creaked open, and Hyunjae and Sujae walked in. Jungkook's head snapped up, relief flooding his features as he saw his sons.

Hyunjae immediately crossed the room and enveloped Jungkook in his arms. Given their significant height difference, Jungkook was almost completely hidden in Hyunjae's embrace. Sujae joined in, wrapping his arms around both of them.

Hyunjae pulled back slightly, cupping Jungkook's face in his hands. "Are you okay, hmm? Are you hurt anywhere?" His voice was really soft as if he was talking to a baby.

Jungkook nodded his head.

Then his gaze dropped to Hyunjae's hands, noticing the bleeding knuckles. He took Hyunjae's hands in his own and said, "Your hands are bleeding."

Hyunjae shrugged it off. "They're fine."

Jungkook shook his head, his tone firm. "They are not fine. Sit down, I'll apply some medicine."

Hyunjae tried to protest, but Jungkook's glare silenced him. "Sit down."

Hyunjae immediately obeyed, plopping down on the edge of the bed. Sujae chuckled seeing Hyunjae scared, but his laughter was cut short when Jungkook turned his stern gaze on him. "You too, sit down."

Sujae grinned and quickly took a seat next to his brother. Jungkook fetched the first aid kit from the bathroom and sat down in front of Hyunjae, carefully cleaning and dressing his wounds. Hyunjae winced occasionally but didn't complain, watching his mother with soft eyes.

"Are you really okay?" Hyunjae asked again, his voice softer this time.

Jungkook nodded, forcing a smile. "Really, I'm okay."

"Really really okay?" Said Sujae.

Jungkook chuckled lightly, his chest a bit lighter, "Really really okay."

He finished bandaging Hyunjae's hands and then wrapped his arms around both of them, pulling them into a tight hug. The warmth and comfort of his sons' presence helped to dispel some of the lingering anxiety.

After sometime......

Hyunjae broke the silence, "Don't think about what happened downstairs, just forgot it like a nightmare."

Jungkook sighed, resting his head on Hyunjae's shoulder, "Hmmm."

Sujae's grip tightened. "If I ever see them again then I will kill them on the spot."

" They are just jealous of you baby boo."

Jungkook smiled softly, touched by his sons' words. "They are jealous because I have such amazing son's."

Hyunjae brushed a strand of hair away from Jungkook's face. "No, they are jealous because of your beauty. "

Jungkook chuckled and gently pushed Hyunjae away saying, " I know."

For an hour, Hyunjae and Sujae stayed beside Jungkook comforting him and joking around to make the atmosphere calm and light.

"You both should sleep now, hmm? It's been a long day." Jungkook said, looking at the clock.

"Eomma, should I sleep with you? Will you be okay?" Hyunjae asked, getting up from the bed with a slight yawn.

Jungkook smiled warmly, "I'll be fine, Hyunjae. No nightmares tonight."

Hyunjae seemed to hesitate but eventually nodded. "Okay, if you say so."

Just as they were about to leave, Jungkook remembered something. "Oh wait, Hyunjae, why did you both come home early?"

Sujae answered, "The maid called us and informed by about the chaos, baby boo, so we came early."

Jungkook nodded, understanding.

"Oh... Good night babies. Take care."

As Hyunjae and Sujae left the room, Jungkook watched them go with wet eyes and then sat on the bed, breathing heavily. He couldn't let them see how shaken he truly was. It would only worry them more. He needed to be strong for them.

Suddenly, his phone buzzed, breaking the silence. He picked it up and saw a message from an unknown number. Upon opening it, he realized it was from Taehyung.

Taehyung: How are you?

Jungkook muttered to himself, "Why is he messaging me at this time?" But he began typing a response nonetheless.

Jungkook: Hey, I'm good. What about you?

After a few moments, a reply came in.

Taehyung: I'm also fine. I hope you don't mind me messaging you at this time.

Jungkook: No, it's fine.

The conversation continued, and Taehyung started asking about Jungkook's new interests and hobbies.

Taehyung: So, any new favorite things?

Jungkook thought for a moment before responding.

Jungkook: Actually, I've been really interested in shoes lately. One day, I wish to see a shoe factory from the inside.

Taehyung: A shoe factory? Why? 🤔

Jungkook paused, contemplating his answer. He wanted to convey his thoughts clearly.

Jungkook: Shoes are like people. They carry us through our journeys, support us in difficult times, and sometimes, they get worn out and need care. I want to understand the process of how they are made, from raw materials to the final product. It's like understanding the journey of life in a way.

There was a brief pause before Taehyung replied.

Taehyung: Woah, I have never thought like that. 😍😍😍

Taehyung thought to himself," Aren't these emoji's looking weird, well nevermind.

They continued to talk, sharing thoughts and experiences. The conversation flowed naturally, and before Jungkook and Taehyung knew it, an hour had passed. He felt a sense of calmness that he hadn't felt in a long time.

Taehyung: I should let you sleep now. It's late.

Jungkook: Yeah, you're right. Thanks for the chat. It was nice.

Taehyung: Good night, Jungkook. 😴

Jungkook: Good night.

Jungkook put his phone down, feeling a bit lighter. He climbed into bed, the conversation still playing in his mind. With a soft sigh, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

With Taehyung........

As Taehyung finished chatting with Jungkook, he couldn't help but smile at his phone.

He lay back on his bed, holding the phone to his chest. "Even his texts are beautiful," he murmured to himself, a small smile playing on his lips. With a contented sigh, he drifted off to sleep, warmth of their conversation lingering in his thoughts.

The next morning, Taehyung was jolted awake by the persistent nudging of Soohyun. She was brushing her teeth while simultaneously trying to wake him up.

" Awppwa gywt uwp."

Groggy and disoriented, Taehyung squinted at her.

"Go to the bathroom and brush, Soohyun," he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.

Soohyun huffed but complied, shuffling off to the bathroom. Taehyung stretched and yawned, slowly dragging himself out of bed. He headed to the breakfast table, where Taewon had already prepared breakfast. Taehyung took a sip of the soup and winced slightly.

"It's good, but a bit salty," he commented.

Taewon huffed in frustration, "At least appreciate me properly. You're just like him, not appreciating me enough." With that, he grabbed his office bag and stormed out of the room.

Taehyung sat there, still holding his spoon, looking bewildered. "What just happened?" he muttered.

Heejin, sitting across from him, looked equally confused. "What happened to him?"

Taehyung shrugged, still puzzled. "Who's the 'he' he's talking about? Is he dating someone and I don't know?"

Soohyun, now back from the bathroom said, "He means his boss. He told me that his boss always gives him extra work, never appreciates him, and is really naggy."

Taehyung's eyes narrowed in realization. "Ah, I've met him. He was really ill-mannered. I did not like him at all."

Heejin nodded sympathetically, chewing on a piece of kimchi. "Poor Woon."

In Park Industries..........

At Park Industries, Taewon had just arrived and barely had time to settle in when Taehyung's PA approached him.

"Mr. Kim, Mr. Park is asking for coffee."

Taewon took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm. He got up, made a cup of coffee, and brought it to Hyunjae's office. He knocked lightly before entering.

Hyunjae barely looked up from his desk as he took the coffee. "Did you complete the report I told you to?" he asked, sipping the coffee.

Taewon's stomach tightened. "I'll do them today."

Hyunjae's expression turned serious. He set the coffee down with a thud and looked up, his eyes cold. "You'll do them today? I asked for those reports yesterday, Mr. Kim. Do you understand the concept of deadlines? This is unacceptable."

Taewon tried to explain. "I had other tasks that needed immediate attention. I'll make sure-"

Hyunjae cut him off, his voice rising. "Immediate attention? More immediate than a direct request from your superior? This is exactly what I mean about your work ethic. Always an excuse, never any results."

Taewon clenched his fists at his sides, "I understand, sir. I'll have them done by the end of the day."

Hyunjae's anger only seemed to intensify. "End of the day? They should have been done yesterday! Do you even realize how much you're holding up the entire team with your incompetence? I'm sick of your excuses, Mrs. Kim. If you can't handle the responsibilities of your job, maybe you should reconsider your position here."

Taewon felt his face flush with humiliation and anger, but he nodded. "I'll get it done."

Hyunjae leaned back in his chair, "You'd better. And make sure it's perfect. No mistakes, no delays. I don't have time to deal with your shortcomings."

Taewon left the office, his heart pounding. He returned to his desk, feeling the eyes of his coworkers on him. He sat down and buried his face in his hands.

With Jungkook..........

Jungkook woke up, the memory of Sunghoon's attack was still present, and played over and over in his head. He felt a tight knot in his chest, again just like yesterday.

Rubbing his temples, he called out for the maid. "Bring me my medicine and water."

The maid quickly brought him the medicine, and he took it, hoping it would help ease his headache. He lay back down, trying to rest, but the memories continued to haunt him. After two more hours of restless sleep, Jungkook decided he needed to get out of the house and clear his mind.

He got dressed up in a comforting attire.

Then he had a light breakfast and headed to the garage. He picked one of his cars and started driving, not having a particular destination in mind, just wanting to go somewhere where he can forget everything.

He was lost in thought when he suddenly noticed a familiar figure standing beside a shop, cleaning its front door.

Jungkook pulled over and parked his car, stepping out and walking towards the shop. As he got closer, he realized it was Taehyung. Taehyung looked up from his cleaning and smiled when he saw Jungkook.

"Oh, Jungkook! You're here."

Jungkook smiled back, "I was just passing by and saw you here," he explained.

Taehyung nodded understandingly, gesturing to the shop. "Ah, this is my shop. I'm cleaning the front door since it looked a bit dirty."

Jungkook stepped back and took a good look at the shop. It was quaint and charming, with a beautifully crafted sign hanging above the door. "It's so beautiful," he said, genuinely impressed.

Taehyung's eyes were stuck on him, "Thank you. Would you like a tour?"

Jungkook nodded eagerly. "I'd love that."

Taehyung led Jungkook inside, and the first thing Jungkook noticed was the rich, comforting scent of leather. The shop was filled with rows of beautifully crafted shoes.

"This is a shoe shop?" Jungkook asked, looking around in awe, although he should have already known this by the name.

Taehyung nodded. "Yes, I make handmade shoes."

Jungkook walked around, examining the shoes. "These are incredible......the detail is amazing."

Jungkook continued touching the shoes and admiring Taehyung's work.
