One Last Chance
It was now August 9th, and a very special day for Lexi and Josh in their relationship. Not only was it Lexi's birthday, but today would also be the day that the happy couple would finally tie the knot and get married. With Ethan being looked after by Callum and Ellie, Josh had spent the night at Seth's place, as the Kingslayer would be taking the role of best man. They woke up that morning, a little hungover from the previous night's bachelor party.
Josh: Ugh... my head... Seth, bro, you up?
He gave Seth a nudge to wake him up, but he wouldn't budge. So Josh thought to himself, got a glass of water and threw it onto Seth's face, causing him to shoot up from the bed.
Seth: Whoa... what the hell, Josh?
Josh: Sorry, dude, had to get you up, the wedding's in a few hours. And I dunno about you, but I wanna be ready as soon as poss.
Seth: Ugh, I guess you're right...
After they both had a shower, they got ready in their suits and did a quick ring round for Finn, Dean, and everyone else they had invited.
Meanwhile, Lexi had woken up from her hen night with a severe hangover. She went out with Bayley, Sasha and Liv, and from the way her place looked with the girls all sprawled out across her bedroom, it was a boozy night. Lexi looked at the time, and her eyes shot wide open.
Lexi: Oh god! GIRLS, WAKE UP!
The others stirred and slowly awoke from their slumber, with all three groaning from headaches and from Lexi waking them up.
Lexi: Girls, we've gotta get ready, it's already 11, and the wedding starts soon!
With that, all three girls shot up, and got dressed as quick as they could, as Lexi then got into her wedding dress for the day. The girls then got her make up done and she gave them a twirl...
Sasha: My God, Lexi, you look beautiful!
Bayley: Josh's gonna love you in that...
Liv: I might cry...
Lexi: God, I'm really nervous...
Sasha: You think you're nervous? Imagine how Josh must be feeling...
Liv: Yeah, he's probably got the same butterflies as you, if not more!
Bayley: True... now you ready?
Lexi took a deep breath and nodded.
Sasha: Let's go then... your husband awaits!
They all then proceeded to the wedding car to take them to the church, where Josh was now waiting, with Seth, Dean and Finn, and Josh was now beyond nervous.
Josh: Holy crap, is this really happening?
Seth: Yeah it is bro, just relax, you'll be fine!
Dean gave him a fist bump, then Finn gave him a bro hug, followed by a 2-sweet, and then both Josh and Seth went up to the altar, ready and waiting, as Josh then took a few deep breaths to try and calm himself. After waiting for a few minutes the music began playing and Josh turned to see Lexi walking down the aisle with her dad, with a big smile on her face. His eyes lit up once he saw her in her wedding dress.
Josh: Holy...
Lexi just smiled as she arrived at the altar, with her dad, Bob, giving her away.
Bob: Take care of her, son.
Josh shook his hand and smiled.
Josh: Yeah, course I will, you can count on that.
Bob then went to take his seat, leaving Lexi with Josh, both in awe of being the other's future partner.
Josh: You look sensational...
Lexi: Not too bad yourself, handsome!
After the introductions were done, it was then time for the vows, and Lexi went first.
Lexi: My Joshy, where do I begin? Before I met you, I honestly felt incomplete, and nothing was going for me. Then I met you. You've helped me through my brightest days and my darkest hours, from the moment we first met, and look at us now... just over 2 years from when we first met, here we are, getting married. As long as my heart beats, there will be a never ending love for you, and also for our son, Ethan. When you asked me to marry you, I honestly felt like the happiest woman in the world, and today is just proof of that. I'm always gonna be here for you for whatever challenges life may throw at us. Long story short... I love you, forever and always.
Josh just smiled and looked down as he tried to hide his tears.
Josh: Alexis Kaufman, I never thought this day would ever come. I just thought I'd be a good wrestler as it was something I had always wanted to do. Just another guy who does wrestling all his life and feels lonely most of the time. Then I finally met you. You came into my life and I won't lie, I fell for you straight away. We've definitely had our ups and downs, we've been through a lot. Hell, your blood runs through me now after my accident. And now, our bond has been sealed with our baby, whom I will forever love and cherish. I am definitely one lucky man to have you become not just my lover, but also my soulmate, my forever and most importantly, my wife. I love you, forever and always.
Lexi, along with nearly everybody in the church, couldn't help but practically cry at Josh's speech, as the ceremony continued.
Vicar: Now, if anybody has any reason why these two should not be wed, then speak now or forever hold your peace.
After a few moments of silence, the doors burst open and everyone saw Natasha walk through.
Natasha: Pardon me, but I object! That man deserves nobody but me!
Josh: For god's sake, Natasha, let it go!
Lexi felt anger boil over, and she just went over to Natasha and slapped her, and then said some words of wisdom for her.
Lexi: Don't say I didn't warn you. Keep away from me, my son, and my husband, or you'll be sorry.
Natasha was then sent scurrying away, as she ran out the doors, and everyone gave Lexi a round of applause as she then returned to the altar, where Josh was smiling from ear to ear.
Josh: That told her...
Lexi: Nobody comes between me and my family.
The wedding then continued as the rings were then placed on each other, the "I do's" were said, and then came the big moment.
Vicar: I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.
Josh didn't waste any time and leaned down to kiss Lexi, deeply and passionately, with everyone in attendance cheering and clapping, even little Ethan, who was sitting on Bayley's lap. They then pulled away from each other and rested their heads against one another.
Josh: Thank you.
Lexi: For what?
Josh then kissed her once more before pulling away and answering her question.
Josh: Everything.
Josh then picked up Lexi, and went outside, with the guests following. Outside, photos were taken, and Lexi threw the bouquet, to which Bayley caught.
Josh: Looks like you'll be next, bro.
Finn: I can't wait...
After the ceremony, the reception was a blast, with loads of food, drink and dancing, with Josh and Lexi's first dance being to "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding, and it ended in a kiss. And then, to top it all off, there was a surprise for little Liv, which Dean and Josh planned especially for her.
Josh: Now, just before this amazing day comes to an end, my man Dean has something he'd like to say.
Dean: Cheers bro. Now, this little thing I have planned, involves my beautiful girlfriend, Liv, so come on up here, baby!
Although a little confused, Liv made her way onto the stage, where Dean waited.
Dean: Now, Liv, today has been one of the happiest days of my life, seeing one of my closest friends get married. To be honest, I've never been so happy, which is why...
Liv then gasped, put her hand over her face and shed a tear as Dean then got down on one knee and held a diamond ring in his hand.
Dean: I'll admit, I'm not really good with all this emotions crap, so I'll cut straight to the chase... Liv Morgan, will you marry me?
Liv looked at Lexi and the girls, who all nodded their heads.
Liv: Yes! Yes, I will marry you, Dean!
Everyone clapped and cheered for the newly engaged couple, who shared a tender loving kiss, as they, along with Ethan, Lexi, Josh, Finn, Bayley, Sasha and Seth, all gathered in a group hug.
Josh: Congratulations, Liv, you deserve it!
She hugged Josh in reply, as he then gave Dean a bro hug as well.
Dean: Thanks, bro. I couldn't have done it without you.
Josh smiled at them both, as he then noticed Lexi was tired, along with Ethan.
Josh: I think it's time we went home. Thanks again everyone for an amazing day!
Lexi, Ethan and Josh all went home, and then, with Ethan in bed, Lexi and Josh embraced in their first night together, as a married couple, with Josh saying one last thing to his sleeping beauty before he went off to sleep.
Josh: Happy birthday, my beautiful wife...
