It was swift, the attack was surprising as Titans had crashed through their assault, it was a mission to help with supplies coming forward. The amount of Abnormal Titans were growing by the second as Eren and Mikasa were separated from each other in the midst.

Armin flew over to Eren and landed next to him "Eren, where is Mikasa?" "I thought she could've been with you, we had to split ways" A Titan leaped and Eren dodged swiftly activating the ODM Gear to attack at the weak spot. One blow is all it took now, with success he went back to Armin "Armin, where is Captain Levi and the others?" "They're up ahead, they told me to find you two as they held off the Titans" Eren surveyed the area, the trees were helping them get on high ground, but where could Mikasa have gone off to? "Eren!" It was a flash he lost his footing as the impact of something knocked him off. A taller Abnormal had set it's sights on Eren, but he was fine it wasn't until he heard Armin yell. "MIKASA!" Eren turned to see what he screamed about.

Mikasa was in it's grip, the Abnormal held her tighter and began to open it's mouth. A snap of bones crackled and Mikasa went limp, something in Eren sparked and he bite down on his hand quickly drawing blood.

Armin held a steady grip as Titan Eren punched the Abnormal and held Mikasa in his hand, gently handing her to Armin he roared and began to rampage. It was a nightmare, the bloodbath as Armin looked to Mikasa her arm was broken and seemingly some other bones, perhaps a ribcage too? Some blood dripped down from her mouth and Armin wiped it off as he looked to Titan Eren causing a mess.

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR"

Titan Eren cried out and his eyes flashed green as he saw Armin and swung. "Eren! Stop it" He was losing control.

A shout erupted from behind "Flank on the left!" Erwin was leading a group and quickly Captain Levi swooped over and cut off Eren's nape. The boy gasped and Levi took him over to Armin "Watch him"

They made it back, some soldiers were lost but not that many as Titan Eren had managed to wipe out most Titans in the way by then. Mikasa was lied down next to Eren as he watched over her still body. She was breathing, thank the walls for that, but there had not been a single sign of moving anytime soon. "Mikasa, don't die on me..." Eren took her hand in his and took off his coat "Here, it's kinda cold you'll need this" Wrapping it over her body a small sigh came from her and he smiled.

Just before the battle too, Eren had asked her a question "Why do you try to protect me so much?" "Because Eren, it's my choice to protect you, I care for you more than you know" He had simply nodded "Then at least let me do the same for you" "Alright, we'll look out for each other then" She extended a friendly fist, Eren bumped his fist with Mikasa and they shared a smile before riding to battle.

He knew now, it was her choice to do so... Just as much it was his.
