If you want to add excitement, you have to keep readers on their toes. Plot twists and cliffhangers are great devices to use.

Remember Murphy's Law.

Arguments build tension and add excitement. They keep the pages turning.

The easiest way to create realistic arguments, is to start by only writing the dialogue. You can add in the action later.

Quick and rapid arguments are fun to write and if you do it right, to read.

Give your readers something to anticipate.

Excitement is when everything can go wrong.

Excitement is tension.

Excitement is having a devious character.

It makes it so much more exciting to write when you become your characters.
