TALL DANIEL'S POV

"Where's Michael? He was following us, right? So then, where's he?" Ajoke asked with a worried tone.

"Maybe, he missed his way," Irayo said.

"Dear God, we're really sorry," Suzy wailed, placing her hands on her chest.

"Aww, guys, I don't know what's wrong with my stomach. Argh, it really hurts," Jerry whined.

This was the last thing they needed in the middle of all this.

"Those grapes must be doing something to you, bruh," Irayo pointed out, grabbing the last grape in his hand and throwing it to the ground.

They all decided to rest as there wasn't any use in walking since it was dark. Things would have been better if their phones weren't dead.

This was really scaring me. Everything is freaking me out. First, Gbemi disappeared then Favour, and now, Michael, too. Who's next? I really hope it's not me!

These were all the thoughts in Tall Daniel's head. He had never been scared before. They all quieted, trying to look for a way out of this in their minds but the hooting of the owls intensified.

Daniel became very alert when he heard something. Though he couldn't pinpoint what he heard, he was certain that something, someone was approaching them. "Can y'all hear that?" He asked in a low tone.

"Hear what?" Great inquired.

"I don't know but I think someone's coming," Daniel stated as he was shivering.

The rest of them tried to listen for something odd but their eyes caught something.

"AYO!" Irayo shouted.

"What? Why are you shouting? I'm right behind you," Ayo replied,  unaware of the thing behind her.

Oh God!

"Something's behind you!" We all jumped up in terror. Talk Daniel bent down and picked up a stick from the grass. He was able to hit the creature with it.

"RUN!" Kicky screeched and with that, they started running in a directionless manner.

"I'm tired," Minah gasped, crashing to the ground. They all followed suit as they were tired too.

"What the hell was that?" Zaizai asked.

"Who knows? This place is creepy as f*ck! Thank God, I threw that stick or else we would be dead meat," Daniel praised himself for being heroic.

Divine hissed. "Abeg (please) stop feeling yourself."

"It's all your fault," Tall Daniel accused, pushing Jerry by his chest.

"How? No one asked or begged you to come," Jerry retorted, pushing him back.

"Oh, now you're fighting against him after you were all over him the first day he came. Hmm, classic," Irayo chuckled.

" Irayo! This is none of your concern," Tall Daniel hissed.

The argument was interrupted by Minah, "Shhhhhh, can you guys hear that?"

She continued frantically, "Someone's coming."

Suddenly, silence stumbled upon them as though the whole world would end. Maybe, it would.

"It's......," a few of them couldn't complete the sentence.

"Ah!'" Everybody yelled as the threatening figure approached. They couldn't believe their eyes or perhaps they didn't want to believe something like this existed in real life and that too in their country, Nigeria.

"OH. MY. GOD!" They screamed louder than they had ever screened in their sixteen years of life.

"No! It's a f*cking vampire! Woah, look at his fangs," Gbolex pointed out, looking bewildered just like the rest of them.

Indeed, it was undoubtedly. a vampire but how could that be? What would a vampire be doing in West Africa? They thought to themselves.

"What's a vampire looking for here?" Great asked in broken English.

"A fine one for that matter," Zaizai complimented flirtatiously, feeling unbothered by the beastly creature before her. She had always fantasized about vampires and now she was overwhelmed seeing an actual vampire.

"Hey beautiful meow," Minah greeted with a smile while she walked toward the vampire causing her classmates except Zaizai to gasp.

"Minah!" Some of them screamed out of fear for her Minah was unbothered.

"What? Can't you see how cute he is?" Minah blushed.

As the vampire moved forward, they moved backward but Zaizai and Minah didn't move an inch. Instead, they stood there admiring him.

These girls want to die but it ain't my business. Daniel thought.

"I've been waiting for you," Minah sang, stretching out her hand to him.

Okay, she's crazy.

"Turn me into one of your kind," Zaizai pleased, earning a smile from the vampire.

"Turn us into your kind," Minah added.

Short Daniel shrugged and looked up to the vampire with one question in mind. "Hey you, what's your name? Have you seen my twin sister"

"Ode! (Stupid!) How would he know her?" Irayo mocked.

"Don't mind the fool," Great said.

Short Daniel hissed. "Why won't he know? Isn't he a vampire?"

They sighed.

The mysterious vampire finally coughed and spoke in a dazzling tone. "I'm Colin by the way."

"Oh my!!" All the girls except Irayo drawled.

Okay, I get that he's got a nice voice and all but it's not as nice as mine. Daniel was jelly of Colin.

"Y'all, I'm not feeling good," Jerry cried but no one paid attention as they were distracted. Tall Daniel noticed though but he chose to ignore it since he's battling with his issues.

"Argh!!!" Jerry's cry drew their attention towards him.

"What's wrong with him?" Ayo asked.

Jerry stammered in pain. "I don't know. I.....arghhh!"

Zaizai clasped her arms and spoke loudly. "I knew creepy forest fruits couldn't be trusted. I blame those grapes."

"Woah!" The rest of them chorused as they observed what was happening to Jerry.

"He's changing!" Irayo pointed out.

Jerry's body was turning blue, his eyes turned red and his teeth were growing longer and sharper just like fangs. Oh no! He resembled a zombie vampire!

"Vampire 5.0! Oh Lord, please forgive me all my sins!" Suzy cried out.

Gbolex was in a daze. "Am I dreaming or is this reality? Ahhh! I should have never come here," Gbolex cried.

"I knew there was juju (charm) in those grapes," Great said.

"Arghhh!" Jerry groaned.

"Ahhhh!!!!" They screeched.

"Arghhh!!!" Jerry groaned again. He stretched out his fangs, making him look more horrific than before.

"RUN!!!" They all shouted as we ran for our safety.
