7 | Not My Twin Sister
MINAH'S POV
Many of them were still shocked about what just happened. Some thought that this was some sort of nightmare but if only wishes were horses, then they would have been the first to ride.
Woah! Gbemi's disappearance is still shocking me. Can you imagine? Mina was just as stunned as the others were.
"Lord, please forgive me all my sins," Suzy crossed her arms and prayed. Poor thing thought this was rapture day and she certainly didn't want to risk going to hell so she's repenting now.
"You guys, this is judgment day. I always knew this day would come and now, it has," Minah, shouted, placing her hands on her chest. It's true, that Minah was a strong believer in judgment day. But was she right?
"If that's the case, then I'm sure I'm going to heaven. The rest of you may go to hell. I really don't care," Great said bitterly. He actually didn't care about them. Of course, he liked to chat with his friends but he would always put himself first and one couldn't really say if that was selfish. After all, it's good to love yourself but being selfish is another thing.
That fool! Minah insulted him mentally.
"Hey, shut up! You're no saint so stop acting like one," Tall Daniel attacked Great with his words. Great didn't respond though.
Gbolex shrugged, "I'm tired of this sh*t. I'm going home to my Popsi's (dad's) home. I still want to become a rapper and I ain't gonna let this dammed Ibabi cut my life short."
With that, he strolled to the left corner as though he knew where he was going. In reality, he didn't.
"Dude, wait! What if you get eaten up by a lion, or an evil witch cuts off your head, or you get swallowed by the evil spirits in Ibabi," Minah listed the possible dangers that he could face out there.
Gbolex turned and spoke with confidence. "Me? A whole me, the Afro young star, Batuli Humble!
Fear not, for I am protected."
"I don't think you guys get what just happened. Gbemi just disappeared. I mean, we just lost her," Zaizai reminded them, bringing them back to reality. She continued with a louder voice. "This ain't funny. This is as real as Short Daniel chewing erasers. And if you don't want your ass to disappear next, then we had better start thinking of a way outta here."
Zaizai's words sank into their heads quickly and they stilled. She was right. They needed to think of a plan to escape from this mysterious place. Gbolex returned to where the rest of them stood. No one said a word, no one moved. Their mouths were as quiet as the way their teachers had always wished but their minds were far from quiet. A lot of unsettling thoughts and questions lingered in them.
"I shall find her," Ese said slowly, breaking the silence.
"How?" Don't be stupid, Great wanted to add.
Ese scratched his head, "I don't know but I will."
"Hey guys, I have an idea to bring back Gbemi," Michael stated, drawing everyone's attention to himself. To be honest, they didn't think he had a good idea but right now, they just had to listen.
"Did you notice that when Favour mistakenly hit the button, Gbemi vanished? So if you have common sense, then you'll know that when we touch the button again, Gbemi will reappear," Michael spoke confidently as though he understood how this whole Ibabi worked.
"What if it makes another person disappear?" Irayo asked a good question.
"Exactly what I'm thinking too. Can you see that you're the one who lacked common sense?" Kicky hissed.
"If I had known, then I would have just stayed at home," Ajoke voiced her thoughts while pinching her hand. But no one saw her pinching herself as it wasn't all bright and most probably because they weren't even looking at her.
"Michael's got a point though. I will bring Gbemi back," Ese said with determination.
"Ese, don't be foolish!" Divine yelled. She had been quiet since.
"Well, he has always been foolish," Irayo sassed.
"Let my son save his love," Zaizai chuckled.
"Fine, push the button if you want to but let me run away first. Feel free to bring back your love but only when I'm far away," Favour announced and took on her heels.
But it was too late as Ese had already pressed the red button.
Boom!!!!!
"Ahhhh!!!!"
It seemed like Favour didn't run far enough.
"Not my twin sister," Short Daniel groaned in tears. Poor Favour had vanished just like the way Gbemi did minutes ago.
This had become crazier and more creepy but Suzy thought it wise to start singing as she needed to feel that they were just dreaming.
🎶I got my ticket for the long way round
Two bottles of whiskey for the way
And I sure will like some sweet company
And I'm leaving tomorrow
What do you say🎶
As ridiculous and incredulous as this might sound to you, these kids continued singing along with Suzy.
🎶When I'm gone
When I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my hair
You're gonna miss me everywhere
Oh, you're gonna miss me when I'm gone🎶
"STOP! You've all gone nuts. My twin sister is gone and you're all singing!" Short Daniel had screamed his loudest and his tiny throat ached.
They instantly stopped singing. Short Daniel was right, we've gone nuts. Minah agreed.

Now, Favour is gone too. But where? Keep reading! And if you can take a second to vote, I'll appreciate it :)
