6 | Gbemi! Come Back!
(Picture of Ibababi above)
IRAYO'S POV
They were shocked to see that Ese actually threw up. Though the vomit was minimal, they all were disgusted by the sight. Once they alighted the bus, they were greeted by the sweet scent of the fresh air. Hmmm, nice. Irayo inhaled. She was on her favorite joggers and a black long-sleeved top.
Principal Ita had still not gotten here with his so-called special car.
They were all blown away by the beautiful view. It was like a scene out of a fairy tale - the gnarled, ancient trees with their bare branches stretched out like crooked fingers. The soft earth was spongy with thick, rich moss. The birds sang a joyous song, as though welcoming them to a world of wonder. Are we in Jumanji or just a magical place where nature is unspoiled and thriving? Irayo wondered.
"Short Daniel, come out! Do you want to sleep there?" Tall Daniel asked with a frustrated sigh. They were all out but for one reason unknown to them, Short Daniel was still in the bus.
"Chill, I'm coming," Short Daniel responded. It sounded like he was chewing something, It must be an eraser. Irayo assumed.
As he stepped down, everyone glared at him. I was right, it was an eraser.
"Woah! What is this place?" Divine squealed.
Irayo replied with a smile, "I think we're In Jumanji next level 2.0."
They all started taking selfies and videos. Then they noticed that the driver had driven away without saying anything.
"Ah! We're left alone!" Favour screeched. Favour was Short Daniel's twin which was rather ironic to the eyes. Her favorite hobby was to quarrel with her twin. She was in a lemon skirt and top.
Then Ese noticed something very important. "Guys, our snacks are still in the bus!"
"Nooooo!!!" They began to run but there was no sight of the bus or any other vehicle:
"I haven't even tried the chocolate cupcakes," Minah sobbed. If the driver should touch our snacks, then he will be struck by lightning. Irayo was pained just like the rest of them.
They all went mute, realizing that they weren't hearing the sounds of anyone else except for the chirping of birds. Needless to say, there weren't any Ibabi staff present. "Jesus Christ! Where on earth are we?" Suzy voiced, feeling scared.
Ayo suggested that they should play Truth or Dare but they dismissed her idea with loud hisses and snorts. Some people kept moving around and taking pictures while others were trying to figure out clues as to where they were. Irayo was part of the people chilling.
Hours later, they were still left in the lurch by their principal. The fact that there wasn't any food or snack made the situation worse. But that wasn't the most dreadful thing about their situation. The worst thing was that there wasn't any network service so they couldn't access the internet or make mobile calls.
The once beautiful Ibabi had turned into a creepy forest and the trees became lifeless. This creeped the sh*t out of them.
"Ahh! Landmark has killed us!" Divide cried out.
(Ibababi changed to this view below)
"The sixteen students had settled on the cold grass as there weren't benches for them to seat on. They heard footsteps that freaked them out. The threatening footsteps became louder and louder.
"FATHER, WE ARE HERE! TAKE US AWAY!" Irayo shouted, waving both her hands in the air.
"Hey, are you crazy? I'm not ready to go anywhere," Ayo countered Irayo.
"Leave her alone, she's right," Tall Daniel supported Irayo.
"Because you like her no one will hear a word," a familiar voice chuckled from behind.
"Ajoke!" They yelled and some of them jumped to engulf her in hugs.
"Where did you come from? Where have you been?" Zaizai asked, playfully tapping her back.
Ajoke was very stunning with her slim figure and tall height. Her voice was baby-like and she was always full of positive energy.
"I just got here," Ajoke replied, wiggling out of the many arms that surrounded her.
"How?"
"I traveled, remember? Principal Ita told my parents about the excursion and of course, my dad paid for it. I was dropped off by the bus driver," Ajoke explained. Her eyes landed on a foreign face. She asked with a smile, "Who's the new kid?"
"Girl, you've missed a lot," Irayo answered.
"Woah! Y'all should come to see this," Short Daniel alarmed everyone, ruining the reunion.
"What?" they all hurried to him except Gbemi who was starving. They were beside a kwashiorkor tree and on its stick was a noticeable button. They were shocked to see what was displayed on the red button. "The button says push," Ese pointed out the obvious.
Irayo snorted, "We know, we can see it."
"What the f*ck is going on here?" Kicky was stunned just like the rest of them.
"I will push it though," Short Daniel sounded confident.
"Don't!" They yelled.
"I will!"
"You don't have a brain. Don't do it or else, I'll report you to Mummy. Why are you so dumb? Why is my twin brother this idiotic?" Favour warned Short Daniel with deadly glares.
She tried to push him away from the button but he wasn't giving in. Though Favour was thrice Short Daniel's height, she couldn't drag him. Unfortunately, Favour's body had mistakenly come in contact with the red button.
"Ahhhh!!" Loud echoes filled the air.
They all turned to where the scream was heard. They were bewildered to see Gbemi disappearing into thin air as though an evil witch had cast a spell to erase her from the earth.
"Gbemi, nooooo!!!" Cried everyone but it was of no use as Gbemi had vanished to only God knows where.
Okay, this isn't funny anymore. We have gotten ourselves into deep sh*t! They thought.
"Gbemi! Come back!" Ese wailed and so did the others
