FLASHBACK

"I can't believe they actually left us alone on the beach." Ese shook his head in denial.

Zaizai, Irayo, Minah, and Ese had come to the beach for Tall Daniel's birthday but got ditched by their classmates. They called Tall Daniel but he didn't pick up.

They tried calling everyone but none of them picked up their calls. "Wow! They actually ditched us," Irayo said, holding her waist. She was in a pair of joggers and a baggy top. Zaizai had worn her favorite peach gown. While Minah was on a black jean skirt and white top and Ese looked comfy in his jeans and red-and-white T-shirt.

"But why?" Zaizai was dazed.

Ese shrugged and drank water from
His purple water bottle. "Let's just go home 'cause there's no point standing under this hot sun. Ugh, why did I even wear this outfit?"

"Yeah." They nodded and Irayo ordered an Uber. "I'll pay the T-fare."

"Of course, you will," Irayo said. Ese changed his mind and refused to pay. Zaizai shot him a deadly glare and he quickly responded. "Fine, I'll pay."

The girls hissed at him. Once the Uber arrived, Minah settled in the front seat and the rest settled at the back.

"Y'all, we were literally ditched by those fools," Minah scuffed, turning her face to the back.

"The audacity," Zaizai nearly screamed. "We shall take our revenge," Irayo waved her hand in the air.

"No, we can't be sure. Let's just confirm.....," Ese was cut off by Zaizai. "You're doubting it cause your girlfriend and best friend ditched you."

"Exactly," Minah agreed.

"I guess we'll find out the truth tomorrow when we go to school." Irayo shrugged.

"School?" The Uber driver asked out of the blue. He was shocked to know that they were still in high school. Minah took it as her cue to engage in a needless chat with the driver. Irayo rolled her eyes at her and Zaizai hissed but she just continued talking.

"DAM! That party was lit!" Gbolex screamed, parading the class. It was the first period and they had Mathematica but their teacher hadn't arrived.

"As in! We had too much fun," Ayo shouted, rising to her feet.

"The Mexican tacos are top-notch," Suzy licked her lips.

"So you intentionally ditched us," Ese was shocked. He didn't expect this from them.

"Ese, my guy? It's not like that?" Gbolex said and rushed to Ese's seat.

"It's like how?" Irayo eyed everyone.

"We.... um," Tall Daniel was speechless.

"You what?"  Zaizai asked with death flares.

"Do you know how much it took from me to convince my mom to come for your birthday and see, how I was paid back?" Minah ranted, clasping and Unclasping her hands.

Short Daniel blurted. "It's all Tall Daniel's idea."

"WOW!" The four victims chorused in disappointment.

"BRAVO!" Ese praised them.

"You guys should just chill. It's not a big deal.." Michael said casually, angering them even more.

"We're actually chilling?" Zaizai hissed.

"Okay, we're sorry!"  Divine shouted.

"I told them not to leave you guys but Tall Daniel insisted," Kicky defended herself.

Irayo clapped her hands. "Well played."

"You'll see," the four victims emphasized but they just shrugged.

THE FOLLOWING AFTERNOON

"Hey!" They screamed at the entrance of Zaizai's house. They had planned to meet up at her house. Once they settled on the longest cream sofas in the seating room. Ese glanced around for something. "Zai, I can't find my chinchin," he said, placing his arms around her shoulder.

"Awwnn, couple goals," Irayo and Minah sang.

Zaizai removed his hand and said. "Don't even go there. Now, let's talk about our revenge plan."

"Yeah, about that. What are we gonna do?" Irayo questioned, robbing her forehead.

"Hmmm," Ese hummed.

"Halloween's around the corner," Minah indicated.

"Halloween? I've got it," Irayo said, snapping her fingers.

"If involves Irayo's wicked plans then it's a NO," Minah stated.

"Well, it's not. We're going on an excursion, right?" Irayo chuckled.

"Right," zaizai smiled.

"So I'm thinking we should execute our revenge over there. You know, we're just gonna have fun," Irayo giggled

"In the forest," Zaizai was up on her feet, giggling, too.

"We will require some skilled actors and money," Irayo finished.

"I've got the money," Ese was gallant and with that, they laughed wickedly.

END OF FLASHBACK

ESE'S POV

(PRESENT DAY)

"So what should we do now?" I asked. Our revenge was completed when Gbolex disappeared. I still can't believe that we actually pulled it off.

"Let's go to the place where they disappeared so we can free their asses," Minah said.

"I can't wait to see their reactions when they find out that we planned it all," Irayo chuckled.

"As in!! They'll want to kill us," Zaizai giggled as we walked towards a black door that was in the building where Gbolex performed.

"1.....2...ready go," we shouted as Minah opened the door.  We smiled when we saw them sitting on the fancy chairs. The room was well-decorated with fancy stuff. I don't even know how these ladies got them. It was a very big dark room with candles hung on the wall.

We walked in and greeted. "Hey, y'all."

"Ahhh!! You guys have also disappeared to this beautiful room," Divine squealed, and then everyone hugged each other.

Poor kids. We put them through a lot. But they deserved it.

"No, we didn't disappear," Minah smirked.

"I just know that you guys will find us. Thank God that you used your sense to find us," Short Daniel rejoiced.

"Hmm," we chuckled.

"I just don't get how all those things happened to us though. I blame Landmark," Tall Daniel said.

Wow! These people are not even suspecting us at all.

"Should we tell them?" Minah asked with a wink.

"Tell us what?"

In silence, they stared at us with curious gazes.

"Okay, let's tell them together," Zaizai sounded excited.

"WE DID IT!" The four of us screamed.

"Did what?" Ajoke asked.

They still don't get or they don't want to get. "We planned everything! We pranked you guys," Irayo stated confidently.

They laughed in doubt.

"Yep. And it was totally worth it," Zaizai smiled.

"I know right," Minah added.

"So you guys are behind all the mysterious sh^ts that took place here," Great asked with a chill tone.

"Yes! How many times do you want us to say?" Irayo asked while I was laughing.

Some of them shook their heads in denial. "They're obviously kidding."

"You guys can't pull this off. You're not that powerful and you're also not that smart so there's no way that you could be the masterminds," Tall Daniel mocked, causing us to get angry.

"Exactly!" The fools chorused.

How dare they underestimate us like that. We ain't stupid like them.

"Omo! Wetin dey sup? (what's going on?) Are you guys really behind it all?" Gbolex asked with a serious face.

"If you don't believe us then why is it that we got here without disappearing? We were behind everything from the very  beginning." Zaizai sighed.

"Yep, we took our revenge," Irayo said with a huge smirk.

"What revenge?"The fools shouted.

"You guys started it! Y'all ditched us at the beach on Daniel's birthday so this is our sweet sweet revenge," Minah answered,  doing her happy dance.

"Ha!!"

Finally, they believe us.

Now, it was time for me to say a few words. "Leaving us alone on that beach was just mean so you deserve this."

"Ese! How dare you do this to me your girlfriend?" Gbemi crossed her arms.

I didn't expect her to say that. Had she lost her memory or what?

"Ex! Don't forget that you broke up with me," I corrected.

"Tall Daniel said that the four of you told him to sell fish so that was why we ditched you," Short Daniel explained.

"Wh-what? Such a petty reason," Zaizai was disappointed.

"You guys really deserve it. How can you do that to us because of something that trivial?
Our revenge should have been bigger," Irayo was equally disappointed.

"As in! Daniel, you're literally mad for what you did,"
Minah insulted.

"So what? Does that mean that you guys should creep us out? Do you know how much fear your psychotic revenge put us through? How did you even do it?" Tall Daniel asked.

"You guys will die today!" Great, Kicky, Ayo,  Gbolex, Michael, Divine, Suzy, and Gbemi barked and took the iron rods that were next to a chair. Don't ask me how those rods got there cause I don't know.

Ah! They really want to kill us! Minah, Zaizai, Irayo, and I immediately ran out before they killed us.

"I swear, you guys will suffer!" Great shouted.

"You turned me into a f*cking pumpkin!"Ayo screamed.

"You will pay for this!" Gbolex yelled. Zaizai got tired of running from them so she turned back and halted.

Zaizai gasped as she spoke,  "If you kill us or even touch us, you won't get out of here."

"Literally! Y'all will be stuck here forever," Minah emphasized.

"No, let them kill us. They'll eventually die here, too," Irayo hissed.

"It's not fair though, "Favour cried.

"As in!" Suzy exclaimed and dropped her rod.

"First, get us out of here, and then you shall see." Great made empty threats.

"I feel like killing you guys but I wanna get out of here. So, how did you guys pull this off?" Kicky asked and they dropped their rods.

"Exactly! How?" Michael was too curious.

The four of us stretched our hands in the air and screamed,  "True magicians never reveal their secrets!!!!"

"Mad children," Divine hissed.

"Guys, wait a sec.  Where's the new Kid?" Ajoke brought our attention to something we totally ignored.

We weren't behind Jerry's disappearance. He was never part of our plan.

"We don't know. The guy was the one who ate those grapes. That wasn't part of the plan," I clarified.

"Haa!! So the guy is really missing?" Gbemi confirmed.

"That's the guy's business." Michael yawned. The poor guy was tired.

"What are we waiting for?! Show us the way. I'm hungry and I have zero eraser to chew on. Why did you tell the driver to leave us without food, huh?" Short Daniel rolled his eyes and rubbed his tiny belly.

"That fool just ran away. We didn't plan that part, too. Do you think we'll let ourselves starve?" Minah told them.

"Whatever, just get us out of this hell hole," Kicky hissed.

"Just follow our lead," Minah said confidently.

"Yeah, follow us," Zaizai, Irayo, and I stated, feeling victorious. They scowled but went in our direction. They're right when they say beggars can't be choosers.

Suddenly, we heard loud creepy footsteps at our back so we turned to see that it was Jerry who was still a zombie vampire.

Oh no. This is really bad.

We didn't wait to process anything. We did what we knew how to do best. We ran.

"RUNN!!!!" We screamed and ran at the speed of light until we were out of Ibabi.

But I know that no one will ever forget this trip. A Naija Halloween Trip, indeed.
