Chapter three

Aakle never thought a gunshot would save him, but standing there and watching his dead enemy made him reconsider, until the gunshots started to try and kill him. The bullets bounced off of the metal walls, floors and appliances.

More men fell down with bullets in their arms, legs and chests as the bullets whizzed around the room. Aakle turned and saw Captain Fenton walk into the room, his finger still squeezing the trigger. he turned to shoot Aakle but he ducked just in time.

He struck Fentons legs with his bar and cause him to topple over. His gun slid out out of his hand and Aakle grabbed it from the cold metal floor. Fenton growled in anger but Aakle shot, hitting him in the leg.

He rushed out of the room, five others following him. They ran through the labyrinth of tunnels until they couldn't hear the guns anymore. Aakle turned and saw they were at a dead end. He backed against the wall, his gun pointing towards the corner. If anyone turned it he was going to be ready.

"What's this?" someone asked, pointing to a small screen on the wall.

"I don't know." Aakle said, "But I'm not taking any chances." he aimed and shot, breaking the screen. Sparks flew out, along with the severed ends of wires. The wall behind them suddenly rose into the air, revealing a huge room filled with computers.

"Woah." they gasped, looking at it in amazement. Rows of computers filled the walls. A huge window filled the entire front wall, showing the vast expanse of space. Stars, galaxies and planets all spun around, looking perfect. Ahead of them was the dreaded Oriox.

It was bright red with flares flying off. The star was made of fire and the slaves worked on the base, several hundred feet off the surface. Their masters lived in air conditioned rooms while they died of heat working in the rooms closer to the surface.

"Looks like a vacation resort." Aakle said, smirking. The planet was twice as big as the sun and probably hotter.

"Yeah, major sunburn." the men started to laugh. It felt so good to laugh again. A gunshot brought their attention back to their problem.

"I'll drive while you keep them back." Aakle said.

"Okay." he threw them the gun and they left the room.

"Time for some fun." Aakle muttered, sitting down at the main computer. He began to tap buttons and type stuff in. The Xerxes began to slowly turn around. He picked up a small microchip and was about to insert it into the drive when a bullet smashed right through it.

Aakle spun around and was surprised to see Fenton. He was limping with blood pouring out of his leg. Every time he moved it sprayed across the floor.

"You're good, it's a shame I have to kill you." he said, shaking his head. "You could have been useful to me, better than my nitwit crew now." he raised his gun and fired.
