After Serena was out of his sight Ash sighed heavily. "That was close. Thank's Greninja!"

"Gren."

"Pikachu, why did you have to tell her where I was?" Ash asked Pikachu.

"Pikachu?" He put his arms up in a I don't know kind of way.

"Thank you Greninja!" He pulled out a Pokeball and recalled Greninja

"Greninja" Greninja said at the last moment.

"Well Pikachu, I have to get ready, the party is in a few hours." Ash said looking down to Pikachu, as he jumped up onto his shoulder. They walked back to his cabin, where he would dress. He opened the door and set his gifts down, next to... Serena's bags? "Oh no, she's here."

"Hello? Ash?" Ash heard a voice from the bathroom.

Ash quickly put his gifts under the bed sheets, as well as his suit. "Hi Serena! I'm back." Serena opened the door, thankfully not in her dress, but in her normal clothes. He didn't want to see her in them until tonight. Ash gave her a quick hug and sat down at the table. They sat in awkward silence, weirdly because they were really hyped for tonight. Ash and Serena both didn't know what to say, they just wanted to know what they got for each other.

"I feel bad for Miette..." Serena suddenly spoke up.

"Why is that? Did something happen?" Ash replied, leaning back in his chair.

"Well, before I got back to our cabin, she approached me. Pretty much what she said is that she is lonely. She thinks she will find no one."

"Oh.. Well, i'm sure she will. She is super confident."

"Yeah, but I think when it comes to real relationships she has no experience. So she will most likely be really shy when she finds the right one. Just like me when I found you."

Serena put her hand on the table, and Ash put his on top of hers. They both smiled at each other.

"Yeah, but the difference is, the guy who finds Miette, won't be as lucky as me. I have you Serena, you are the one and only in my life." Ash said squeezing Serena's hand a little more. She smiled back, with a bit of sparkle in her eyes.

"Ash, you remember when you got lost in that cave of mirrors? And after we saved you, you said we would stay on our journey together?"

"Yeah? I kept my promise didn't I?"

"You sure did... That's one of the reasons why I love you so much. You keep your promises, even if it leads to you almost getting disqualified in the league."

Ash had a flashback right there, to the time where he was challenged by a random opponent in a hallway. Before that though he promised he would battle him, but Serena stopped him from doing so. Of course he beat that opponent, and got to his battle just in time, but it was too close. "Yeah.." Ash laughed lightly and with his free hand he scratched the back of his head, embarrassed.

They looked in each other's eyes for a few moments, before Serena got up. "I think it's time to get dressed now. She slowly let go of Ash's hand. She grabbed her bags and went into the bathroom.

Well, I guess I should too. Ash thought. He grabbed his suit from under the sheets, and put them on. He looked at himself in the large mirror next to the TV. He tightened his tie a little bit, and tilted his fedora. "Pikachu, how do I look?" He turned to see his Pokemon.

"Pika!" Pikachu put on a huge smile, and jumped onto Ash's face.

"Pikachu! You're gonna mess it up!" Ash started laughing, trying to get Pikachu off of his face. He finally ripped him off and held him in front of his face.

"Pikachu!" He jumped out of his arms onto the bed.

"Pikachu, do you mind staying here tonight? It's going to be really loud and crowded there, and I don't want to lose you."

"Pika-pi.." Pikachu said, before crawling into a ball and laying down at the end of the bed.

"Okay, I will see you later then. Thank you!" He walked over and knocked on the bathroom door. "I'll meet you there Serena."

"Okay Ash, love you~" Serena said from the other side of the door.

"Love you too" Ash said, and walked out of the room.

Serena finished getting into her dress. She walked out of the bathroom slowly, making sure Ash wasn't there still. Now knowing he wasn't there, she stepped outside of the bathroom. She took her presents and started to walk towards the door. Before that though, she looked in the mirror. She was wearing something very similar to her marching band costume, except she didn't wear the flowers on her head. The gold was replaced with blue, while the red was replaced with pink. The red stripes on her arm gloves were now blue. "So Pikachu, how do I look?" She turned to face Ash's Pokemon.

"Pika-p..." He rolled his eyes and went back to sleep. He was most likely tired of telling them how they look. Serena frowned a little.

"Do you not like it?" She sounded sad.

Pikachu quickly reacted, he instantly knew she took it the wrong way. "Pika Pika!" He shook his head yes over and over.

"Oh, okay. Thanks Pikachu!" She grabbed her bags again and walked out the door. I'm really tired of walking down this hallway. Serent thought. It was very repetitive, and also far away from everything. She walked out of the elevator hear extremely loud drums. Huh, a marching band... She also heard stomping, which she expected, from a marching band. She walked around the corner to see them, they were walking around the swimming pool, stomping their feet and playing their instruments. Luckily her dress didn't look like theirs, so she wouldn't be mistaken for one.

Serena searched around, looking for Ash. She was awkwardly standing there, looking around calmly. She noticed everyone else had their partner, and she didn't. Then she heard a loud voice and everyone quieted down.

"Hello everyone! We hope you are enjoying this beautiful cruise so far!" What Serena was guessing was the announcer, stopped for a second, and the large crowd cheered. They quieted down and he began again. "Put your gifts over near that wall." Everyone walked around in a orderly fashion and stacked their gifts high, like the pledging tree celebration kind of. "Now, tonight, we hope you have that special someone! Because this is a night you will never forget!"

The crowd cheered once again, and quite a few people stomped their feet because of the hype. "If you didn't know, we will be stopping in Hoenn for a few days, before going to Alola! There will be enough time for you to adventure around and have fun. But make sure you make it back in time, we will give you the exact date when we get there. Now, I believe it is time for the party!"

"Woooo!" Almost everyone cheered. The music started to slow down, the lights on the boat began to dim down, and many beams of light were shining down on the crowd. There was an orchestra playing on the upper deck, and the marching band marched out of the scene quietly. Serena looked around once again, as she was still alone. She looked straight, to see a beam of light, shining down on Ash...

"Serena." Ash quietly said.

"Ash." Serena said, as she put her hand up to her chest, probably out of habit because her ribbon used to be there. They walked closer to each other, and Serena put her arms around Ash's neck, and he put his arms around her waist. They leaned heads together, and looked into one another's eyes. They didn't need to tell each other they looked good. They already knew they were saying it in their minds by the way they were looking at each other.

"This is the best gift you could ever give me, Serena. Just time with you is all I need." Ash said, while staring into her deep blue ocean eyes.

Serena gave a smile, "Well why did I spend all that money then?" She said jokingly, and giggled a little.

"Haha. I'm sure they will just make this night even better." Ash laughed too.

A few fireworks went off in the background, which kind of startled everyone for a second. Everyone stopped dancing and stood next to their partners, and looked up at the fireworks.

"Woah.."

"Ahhh."

Is what everyone was saying. Ash put his arm around Serena's shoulder, and Serena put her arm around his waist. Ash pulled in and brought her closer to his side.

"What does this remind you of?" Ash said, looking to his side to see Serena.

Serena thought for a moment, before bringing her free hand to her chest, once again reaching for her ribbon that wasn't there. "The pledging tree... Where you gave me the ribbon."

"Yep, me too." Ash squeezed her just a little bit more.

A few minutes went by before the fireworks stopped and the announcer spoke again. "I hope you couples are enjoying this night so far! It is far from over. Right now, it is time to give your loved one a gift."

A few of the employee's were handing the gifts out, making it organized. When a person saw that one of the employees was holding their gift, they walked over, and grabbed it. It took a while, but before Serena knew it, one of the employees held her gift. She walked over and grabbed it. "Thank you!"

The employee's hands were shaking very heavily, which Serena thought was weird. The employee had reddish-purple hair and dark blue eyes, not like Serena's though. Her eyes were more purple-ish. "Y-you're welcome, madam"

Serena politely smiled back and walked back towards Ash, who already got his gift from the other employee. She smiled. Before they said anything to each other she all of the sudden got the feeling to look around, and she did... She saw Miette opening a gift. The man, who was probably around 18 years old, was smiling brightly, waiting for her to see it. She held the gift up, which was a silver necklace with a small pink diamond at the end of it. Miette was obviously happy, because she immediately kissed the guy. "Ash look.."

Ash followed her eyes to see the same thing she was seeing. They both stood there, watching their frenemy finally falling in love. Serena got pulled back to Ash, who was now kissing her. Serena, who was blushing very heavily, finally settled down and relaxed. They finally backed away, and looked at each other. Ash gave a nervous grin and itched his nose out of habit. Serena just blushed, and pulled him into a hug. She rested her head on his shoulder and rubbed up against the side of his neck. Of course, he hugged back, and leaned his head slightly on hers.

During all this time, there was really no talking, they were just loving the moment. A few more fireworks went off, just to make the moment even better. Serena turned her head slightly on his shoulder, to see the fireworks better. Serena remembered another thing from those pledging tree days, her failed performance. They were in the same town when that happened. She thought back to how strong she has become, how much she has been through, and how far she has come. She began to cry a little on his shoulder, mostly out of happiness, but also from that horrible experience and embarrassment.

Ash could feel the slight hiccups from her crying and pulled her up. "Are you okay?" Ash asked, worried. She went back into the position and didn't answer. He rubbed her back, comforting her. "What's wrong Serena?"

"N-nothing, just... I'm glad you're here, with me."

"Of course." Ash put his hand on the back of her head, before lifting her up once again. He pushed the hair out of her face and looked at her with a comforting smile. "Do you want to open the gifts now? It's okay if you don't..."

"Maybe just two..." She sniffed a few times, and rubbed her eyes to get rid of the tears.

Ash handed her one of his gifts, and she slowly opened it. He nicely put it in white wrapping paper and a red ribbon going around it, making a bow in the middle. She nicely took the ribbon off, and put it to the side. Mostly out of politeness, she opened it nicely, not tearing through it like it was a holiday present. She got the paper off, to find a box. She opened the box, to see many fancy stickers. Each one represented a Pokemon type. A fist for fighting, a moon shape for fairy, and fire for, well, fire. She realized quickly what these were for.

"Oh, thank you Ash! I will put these on my Pokeballs once we get home." She gave him a quick hug before she handed Ash her gift. "Here you go, it's not that big of a gift, but I think you will like it."

The gift was in a bag, with tons of wrapping paper inside. He dug through, to find a belt. He stretched it out to see the design. It had red diagonal lines on it, and matched his normal black pants perfectly. "Serena, thank you! I love it! I was getting tired of that old belt anyways." He gave her a big hug and after held her hand.

The announcer started to talk again, "Now folks! I know it's sad, but this party is coming to an end. Grab your partners and head back to your cabins. We will be in Hoenn in two days! So be ready. We will only be on one of the islands with a massive beach, so make sure to have beach clothes prepared, it will be hot!"

Everyone sighed and walked away. They were all sad because the night had come to an end. Ash and Serena grabbed their gifts, as well as the ones they didn't open, and headed back to their cabin. It was even more of a pain because their was a huge wait for the elevator. The crowd was massive, everyone was on the deck. After what seemed like hours, Serena and Ash finally got onto the level. This was probably the most annoying part, they had to go to 4 different floors before theirs.

They finally reached their floor, and both of them sighed.

"Well that was annoying." Ash said, now hunched over from the long wait. Serena found this a perfect time to jump on his back. She did so, and wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders.

Both of them laughed as Ash carried Serena on his back. Once they reached the room she hopped off, and he got the key out. They walked in, and all of the sudden Serena pushed him onto the bed.

"Wait here!" She giggled, and ran into the bathroom, grabbing her unopened gift, that was suppose to be for Ash.

Ash sat there, in silence, petting Pikachu. Pikachu licked Ash a few times, before jumping out of his lap onto the floor. He walked over to the cabin door, and opened it.

"Pikachu? Where are you going?"

"Pika P." Pikachu pointed towards the glass window outside of the cabin. Ash nodded, and Pikachu went outside. Pikachu closed the door from the other side.

Ash heard the door open, and looked at Serena, astonished.

Author's Note:

Ha, that cliff hanger :) What is Serena wearing? What is Ash's second gift once again? BTW I chose Hoenn because it made the most sense map wise. I looked at few Pokeworld maps and where Hoenn was located made the most sense for Alola to be located somewhere near there. It's gonna be a little challenging writing in Hoenn since I have never watched previous pokemon seasons or played the games that take place in Hoenn. Sorry for the cliffhanger, I just couldn't help it xD. I'll see you guys in a few :) BYE!
