One Simple Performance
Ed's POV
I sat down on my chair, fixing my auto mail arm. "I'm surprised your this calm Ed." Winry said sitting down next to me. I laughed a bit. "Honestly Winry, I'm scared poopless." I replied, smiling. "Your so weird Brother!" Al laughed. I smiled again, the tension in the air dispersing a bit. As all three of us were laughing, I cluched my sheet music tightly. Al noticed my tired look. "Brother are you alright?" He asked. I nodded. "Just tired. Had another nightmare last night is all. Stayed up late writing this." I explained, showing them the paper. Winry took it and held it gently. Al leaned over her shoulder and read it. "Wow. Looks awesome Ed." Winry complemented. "Thanks." I replied. "Mr. Elric, your on next. Good luck."
Roy's POV
I groaned in boredom. "Maes why am I here?" I asked. He chuckled. "Because Roy! You have to come with me! Gracia is sick and Elicia is with her friends for the weekend!" He replied. I sighed as we walked into the black and metalic silver auditorium. We gave the lady at the desk our tickets, getting a smile from her. "I hope you enjoy the performance." She said to us. We walked towards the auditorium and walked in. The seats were cushioned and a light red. Maes and I took our seats in the middle row. As we sat down, the performance began.
I honestly didn't like music. It just never interested me. But, when the second to last performance happened, I was drawn in.
"Please welcome to the stage, Edward Elric." The announcer called. As he walked on stage, there was a huge applause for him that made me look at the commotion. My breath hitched in my throat, and my eyes widened. A golden haired boy walked on stage. He looked no older than 15. He was wearing a black dress shirt and black pants. He also had a red trench coat on. He smiled at the crowd, his golden eyes seemed to glow with excitement. He sat down on the bench, rolling up his sleeves. Maes tapped me on the shoulder. "Look Roy, he has an auto mail arm." He pointed out. "You're right." I responded to him. "I heard the surgery and rehabilitation takes at least three years." Maes explained. I was about to reply, when the golden haired boy started playing. I couldn't get my eyes off him. He just seemed to flow with the the music he played. His eyes closed and his hands got faster, the music getting louder as well.
Ed's POV
As I was reading my sheet music, I saw an accelerando coming up. I started to press the piano keys quicker. The music got louder as I was nearing its end. As the song finally ended, there was a huge applause. I stood up, with my music in hand. As I was scanning the crowd for Al and Winry, I saw a tall raven haired man smiling and clapping with everyone else. Our eyes meet, and I smiled softly at him. As my eyes continued to wander for Al and Winry, I saw a bunch of people with smiles on their faces. Thats what I loved to see.
I walked off stage with Al and Winry behind me. "Brother that was awesome!" Al exclaimed. I just smiled in reply. "Come on. We gotta get back to the room." I said to them. They nodded and I placed my hands behind my head with a yawn. We walked back to the very room we started in and sat down. "I hate wearing these stupid shoes." I grumbled, crossing my arms. Winry and Al sighed. "Maybe next concert, I'll just wear my boots." I added. "Ed, you know you can't do that." Winry said. I sighed. "But I hate dress shoes.." I persisted. Winry sighed herself. "If you get in trouble, don't blame me." She said. I nodded. "Gotcha." I replied. "Mr. Elric, please come up to the stage." A security guard said. I nodded. "You guys either wait here or go out into the crowd." I suggested. They nodded. "We'll meet you back here." Al replied. "Okay." I replied. I followed the guard. "I really liked your performance Mr. Elric." He said. "Thank you." I said to him. I was lead on stage and sat down in my seat. I realized I was the only teenager here. I started to get a bit anxious. I didn't really trust adults. "And now, I am going to announce the winner of this musical event." The announcer said. There was a lot of anticipation in the air. "Congratulations to Edward Elric!" He exclaimed. There was a roar of claps. I sighed and smiled lightly. I stood up from my chair and was handed the trophy. It was a golden G Clef.
Roy's POV
After the show, Maes and I walked out. "I can tell Edward caught your attention Roy." Maes laughed. "Shut up Maes." I replied. We were passing a flower stand and I stopped. I didn't know what I was doing as I bought the flowers. "Ha! I knew you would do that!" Maes exclaimed. I grumbled and wrote down "Edward Elric" on the note. "Be right back." I muttered. As I was nearing Ed's room, I heard talking. "Winry I said I'm okay!" Someone exclaimed. "Brother! Stop being so stubborn! Winry and I saw you in the crowd! You were anxious! And trembling a bit."
Ed's POV
I sank low in my chair. "Winry can you just fix my auto mail already?" I grumbled. Her and Al sighed. I wasn't planning on talking about this any longer. Winry nodded. "Okay." She said. She checked my auto mail quickly and sighed. "It looks okay. I don't know why its hurting though. Maybe because of the cold weather." She said. I shrugged. I stood up. "Let's get home now. I'm hungry." I said. I opened the door and was about to step out when I saw a bouquet of flowers. "Huh?" I asked, picking them up. My name was on them. I turned around and looked at Al and Winry. They shrugged. "I guess someone really liked your performance Brother." Al said. I nodded. "Yeah...me to." I replied.
