So raerae says: onward!)(oh and that reminds me those for those who don't know:the bold letters is the story & the non bold letters is me)(onward-sorry)  

Cuphead sat at the dinner table eating an apple, as Elder Kettle (his guardian) watched as Mugman stood alone by the ocean's edge.

"hmmm... hes been there for a while- not a single word out of his mouth" Elder Kettle complained watching Mugman skip a pebble across the water's surface.

"want me to try and talk to him?" Cuphead asked standing at the doorway.

"yes, do that- and ask him if he wants something to eat" Elder Kettle replied nodding.

Cuphead walked up behind Mugman who stood there his eyes shut, facing out into the endless waters.

Cuphead cleared his throat to get Mugman's attention, he then to him "hi" Cuphead said smiling as Mugman looked him in the eye.

He stood there not saying a word, instead he turned away then shut his eyes again.

Cuphead groaned then tried again "Hi, I'm-"

"I don't care" Mugman snapped his eyes still shut.

Cuphead gasped offended "oh! oh!!! you meani- wait! you said something!" Cuphead laughed hugging Mugman, throwing his arms around  Mugman's waist.

"HEY! LET ME GO YOU LITTLE TURD!" Mugman yelled flipping Cuphead into the water(nah bitch)

"oh my-" Elder Kettle gasped running outside with a floaty "hold on cup!" He then threw the floaty to where Cuphead was sinking.

Cuphead grabbed on gasping for air, the floaty then floated to shore. Elder kettle picked Cuphead up in his arms putting a towel around him. Cuphead trembled, still gasping for air, as his cloths dripped cold icy water.

"I could've drowned!" Cuphead Yelled his teeth chattering.

"Yes, that was very unnecessary Mugman!" Elder Kettle agreed "enough with this behavior, I want you inside now" He said sternly. 

Mugman stood there, not saying a word, His eyes were shut facing out to the endless waters.

"Mugman! do not ignore me!" Elder Kettle Warned putting Cuphead down.

With that being said- Mugman glanced over at him, then rolled his eyes giving Elder Kettle sass "ugh" he groaned annoyed, then went back to closing his eyes.

"Come on dude! don't fight an old man!" Cuphead said

"Cuphead get inside, your not in this conversation" Elder Kettle told him hands on hips, eyeing Mugman.

Cuphead pouted crossing his arms "but-"

"Cuphead!" He said again more sternly "inside-NOW"

Cuphead jumped by the sound of His voice. He gulped then ran inside shutting the door. Elder Kettle then walked up to Mugman ------ (about to bitch slap this little ass!)

------Elder Kettle sighed. He then looked out where Mugman was looking, seeing the water sparkle-----(guess not)

Mugman's face darkened as he spoke "what do you want?"

Elder Kettle took a deep breath. With a pause he finally spoke"I want to say.....I'm sorry... for-yelling at you"he apologized exhaling "I should have spoke to you the way I did-I didn't mean to-you ignored me, and to be honest that's the first time someones done that- you've gotta get rid of that sass"Elder Kettle said unsure why but, impressed how Mugman responded to his order earlier"i-its just- you threw Cup into the water- what could have happened if I wasn't standing out the window?would you have saved him yourself-or maybe worse! you don't try because you don't know he doesn't know how to swim!"Elder Kettle said putting his hand on Mugman's shoulder "point is-I really shouldn't have talked to you like that...."

"..."Mugman looked at him in shock,he stayed quiet because of Elder Kettle's his tone. It was different then how he sounded,It threw him off- he stood there staring wide eyed.

"so....do you forgive me?" Elder kettle asked holding out his arms (but not getting too close like the mistake Cuphead did-----(but what if he did get as close as Cuphead got???---"nah bitch" *throws elder kettle into water-----however-that is not the case....so, onward!)------ "when your ready" He said with an unsure smile on his face.

(do it mugs-do it-just-DO IT...or don't...works either way) Mugman slowly got closer, inch by inch, until finally his head landed on Elder Kettle's chest " I don't forgive you-but this is as much as your getting" Mugman growled his cheeks blushing a bright blue.

"good enough" Elder Kettle whispered embracing Mugman "say, are you gonna come eat something?I'll make you dinner if you want"He said motioning Mugman to the hut.

"nah I'm good" Mugman said, after he said that they were both quiet long enough for his stomach to answer- "(*Growllllll*)actually..." Mugman blushed embarrassed.
"Hm"  Elder Kettle stop looking at mugman "Hehehe-go wash up"he laughed hugging mugman again.

"Ok" Mugman said blushing shyly.
(time skip!cuz I is lazy! and mama wants a break~)

Elder Kettle carry blankets to cover his room mugman awkwardly followed (because mugs wants his blanket).  When they walked in cuphead was hopping up and down on the bed.
"Cuphead!get down from there or you'll fall and break boy!" Elder Kettle set sternly.

"But I'm not sleepy Elder K" cuphead pouted falling on his bum landing on the bed.

"I don't care, it's past your bedtime, you were supposed to be asleep 15 minutes ago!" Elder Kettle said setting Mugman's bed.
"woah!" mugman looked at the dark blue sky one light shot across "ooh, shooting star!"
Elder Kettle and cuphead looked out the window "make a wish Mugman!" Cuphead said putting his head on mugman's shoulder.

"Wish?" Mugman asked confused.

"when a shooting star rockets on by, someone's wish comes true- it's rare in Inkwell to see a shooting star, so make your wish- for this might be your only chance" Elder Kettle explained.

"ooh, ok" Mugman said a light bulb lighting up over his head "I wish I wish I wish- I can forget about Kitty, and everything that happened when I was with him- ooh! and I wish I can meet new friends, so I don't feel alone again" he pleaded his eyes shut tightly.  he opened his eyes to see five stars shoot across the sky.

"and I wish mugman can stop being such a dick!" Cuphead said

"Cup! watch your mouth!" Elder Kettle said as mugman slid under the covers.
"Good night boys" Elder Kettle whispered
"goodnight Elder Kettle" they both replied.
As soon as Elder Kettle left mugman heard voices in his head.
(flashback)
"you just be the cute little mug and go to sleep, okay?" said a familiar voice.
"O(yawns)- okay" mugman yawned sleepily shutting his eyes "night Kitty- I love you"
"Good night my precious mug"
(flashback blurs)
Mugman turned, his back towards the wall. A tear came down his cheek as he thought of his memories with the Devil, they faded into nothing as the shooting star did its work.

"Mugman?" said a voice from the opposite bed.

"Yes Cuphead" Mugman replied looking over at Cuphead.

"who's the Kitty person you keep talking about?" Cuphead asked looking at the roof.

mugman thought long and hard but the shooting star had finished its work "I-I honestly...can't remember just a little voice in my head- that's the closest I've gotten to remember"

"what's it saying" Cuphead asked playing with the collar on his long sleeved shirt.
"Just something I said to the kitty person"Mugman replied "something like...hmmm- can't remember-it's gone" he said  as the voice faded "n-night Kitty- I love you" was the last memory he heard as he drifted into sleep.
