As the red ship landed everyone gasped as Eyeball climbed out of the ship checking the perimeter. "Ruby?" Steven said before he was yanked inside the barn by Garnet. Eyeball looked around. Army came out checking everything taking a flower out of the ground and kicking it before cartwheeling away. Navy peaked out of the ship and gasped.

"What a lovely planet!" Navy said getting out of the ship and skipped around as another Ruby peaked her head out of the ship. "Wait! So we just get out and walk around?" She was pushed out of the ship by doc. "Now, where the gem the scanners locked onto? Let's fan out and search the area." Doc said as Steven peaked out of the barn.

"Woah, look at them all." Steven said Peridot perched on Steven's head. "I knew it. they're after me. This is the end of the line." Peridot said moving out of sight. "You really weren't kidding." Lapis said. "I disobeyed a direct order from yellow diamond and I called her a clod... right to her face." Peridot replied.

"Oh honestly, you call everyone a clod." Pearl commented. "Yes, but not everyone has command over all the armies of homeworld, waiting for the word to shatter me!" Peridot said scampering over to a box of baseball equipment, pouring the equipment out and placing the box over her head. "Peridot, we wont let them get you." Steven said, taking the box off of Peridot, revealing her figure in the fetus position.

"But haven't I caused you enough trouble?" Peridot said. "Dont worry, Peridot. It's our sworn duty to protect anything that calls this planet home. And that includes clods like you." Garnet said  walking up to Peridot. "Thats my word." She says in shock.

(At the same time with the rubies)

Leggy wandered off and away from the perimeter looking around at the pretty scenery, she kept walking until she felt something push against her gem, the tickling sensation made her shiver and turn her head down to the thing that pushed up against it.

"Oh!" Was all Leggy said as she picked the creature up, feeling the soft pale purple fur of the animal. "What are you?" Leggy asked the animal only chirped and fluttered its wings, Leggy smiled and sat down with the creature in her lap. They sat there for a while until Leggy realized she had to get back to the group.

She move the creature out of her lap and got up. The animal looked up at her in confusion and nudged the gem's gem, making Leggy laugh. "H-hey! Don't do that! it tickles!" Leggy said in between laughs picking up the being.

"Awe your to cute to be left alone like this, here!" Leggy said placing the animal on to of her head and walking to the place they crashed. "Im Ruby, by the way. since you can't talk. I'm gonna find a name for you." Leggy said as they approached the rest of the rubies doc began to talk.

"Focus, rubies! This is an important mission from yellow diamond, so we can't mess it up." Doc said, Leggy looked anxious but calm, anxious about the creature on her head and if it could leave earth once they find Jasper,  but she was calm... she didn't know why but the fluffy being on her head infected her with its calm presence.

"Eh, hey, hey!" A new Ruby came into view beside Navy. "Uh what are we all doing over here?" Ruby said sweating with anxiety. As everyone's eyes began to train on her. "Yeah what are we all doing here?" Leggy butted in forgetting the mission. Their eyes drifted away from the Ruby and to Leggy. "We're here to retrieve the leader of the earth mission!" Doc yelled, then looked at the new Ruby. "Hey, wait a second. It seems like there are more of us than usual."

Doc said her arms crossed. "There's supposed to be five of us." Navy comments. "Five Rubies." Army said putting up her hand, Eyeball nodded in agreement. Doc started to count each individual Ruby and forgets to add herself. "One, two, three, four, five-" she scoffs  "-Nevermind." Doc says, Ruby let out a breath. "The leader of the earth mission must be around here somewhere." Doc says, "well she's definitely not in that barn." Ruby anxiously says bringing attention to the barn. "Woah! I didn't see that before. Maybe we should look around in there." Doc says. "I'll go!... by myself."  Ruby blurted out walking away. "Bye-bye!" Navy says.

Leggy felt confused and unnerved about this Ruby as if a gut feeling. Worried for her new friends  safety, Leggy plucked the creature off her head and hugged it to her chest closing her eyes. The fluffy animal looked up with her sparkling black eyes and licked the Ruby's cheek with their blue tongue making Leggy open her eyes. Leggy looked at the ball of fluff in confusion but smiled nevertheless  which inturn made the animal smile as if that was their job, to make Leggy smile. The animal fluttered their wings, flew and landed on Leggys toasty head.

Just as Ruby came back with a human with a bat and placed him on the ground. "I checked the barn, and I just found  a bunch of humans. Haha." Ruby said. "Yep! nothing in there but us humans!" Steven said. "Really?" Doc said squinting her eyes. "Looks like we failed. Time to go back home." Ruby said sweating. "I think we better double check. You remember what happened last time." Doc states. "Last time?" Ruby asked everyone starts laughing except Leggy, Doc, Ruby and Steven. "Oh Ruby your so forgetful." Navy says between laughter.

"Alright let's check the barn." Doc says fixing her visors, getting a 'yes ruby!' And a 'wait!' Making her stop in her tracks. "You can't bec- because uh..." Ruby cut herself off looking to the human child. "You have to, uh, play baseball." Everyone looked at eachother and confusion Leggy looked at her moth like companion.  "Yeah, it's a human thing. If you win, you get to go inside, and if you lose you got to leave forever." Steven said swinging the bat into his other hand. "Base...ball." Doc said slowly.

Time skip

Everyone was standing face to face. Rubies on one side, humans on the other. The fluffy creature now resided in Leggys arms as her eyes sweeped over the humans. "We're the humans! Steven!"

"Earl!"

"Amy!"

"Bob."

"And Sophie!"

The Ruby was blushing over Sophie. "Understood, our team is the Rubies consisting of Ruby!"

"Ruby!"

"Ruby!"

"Ruby!"

"Ruby!"

"And Ruby!"
Leggy said the last one of the bunch still hugging the creature.

"Here are the rules of the game, we take turns throwing the ball at each other, the batter tries to hit the ball with the bat, and they run around the bases, whoever gets the most runs wins!" Steven explains.

Ruby placed her hat backwards, holding the bat in a ready to strike pose and winked at Steven. Steven winked back and threw the ball. "You get three trys to hit the ball. If you miss..." Ruby swing and purposely misses, Amy caught the ball in the glove. "Strike one!" Amy calls.

"What?!" Army yells from the bench, everyone was looking with wide eyes, Leggy holding the furred creature in her arms slightly lose but still tight. The creature was holding Leggys thumb with their midarms. Steven throws again, Ruby misses again and gets another strike. Steven throws one more time and Ruby misses getting one more and final strike.

"Three strike and your out." Steven says, Ruby shrugs. "Oh darn. mm, guess I'm out." Ruby looks over at Sophie waving at her. Ruby blushed, but before she could do anything, she was punched in the back by Army. "You swun to slow!" Army said, Ruby ran away to the bench. "Do it like this!" Army said, getting in position. Steven gave a hesitant throw, sweating. Army gave a snarl to the ball and whacked the ball, sending it over head  and ran to the bases as the humans were occupied.

Bob lifted her hand after the ball went way over her head. Army hit the home base with her foot. "And that's called a home run." Steven said in shock. "If the ball gets caught. Your out." Steven said as it was navy's turn. She hit the ball but it was caught by Earl. "And if you get tagged, your out!" Steven said catching the ball and tagging eyeball with it earning a snarl from the Ruby. "Uh, and after three outs we switch sides." Steven said in a panic.

Everyone was playing now, Leggy got up but was stopped by Steven. "Uh sorry you can't play with your uh pet? Moth? Animal? You know that a emperor moth right?" Steven asked the gem.

Leggy held the incect in her hands, she just bearly fit, her long pale purple tail hanging off slightly. "Emperor...moth? That's it! That's your name! Emperor!" Leggy cheered spinning them around as emperor chirped in joy. "Awe you named your buddy, but we still need to play just place her down on the bench and we'll get started." Steven said earning a 'okay!' From Leggy as she dashed off to the bench.

"Here hold this." Leggy said giving the moth to Navy. "o-okay?" Navy said looking confused and sorta shocked. Emperor nudged the gems gem. Navy smiled at the curious creature, held in her arms she derived their attention away from her gem and to the game happening before them. Amy blow a bubble of bubble gum as she held the bat ready to strike. Doc throws the ball with a grunt. The bubble popped as she whacked the ball and soniced her way to the four bases.

"Wow! that purple humans really good!" Leggy comments, Steven laughs nervously. "Us humans- we're full of surprises! Amethyst,  be careful." Steven whispered dragging Amy out of there. Sophie came up to bat next. "Hey, Ruby." Sophie said snickering getting ready to bat and missing, getting a strike. Making Earl Amy and Steven say 'huh?'.

"Haven't I seen you somewhere before?" Ruby says. "I don't know. I don't get off planet much." Sophie replies before both of them erupting into laughter, missing yet another ball, getting another strike. "Whats going on? What are they doing?" Steven asked. "Flirting." Bob said making her way to the young kid, getting a 'uh-oh' from Earl. "Strike three!" Amy's bubble popped. "Uh..." the two said their cheeks gaining a darker color as they laughed nervously.

The games played as normal, as Navy and Leggy was needed for the round Emperors care was put into the arms of Doc, but she wasn't doing a good job, aimlessly letting Emperor wander to the other side. Steven grabbed Emperor and put her in one arm and walking over to the rubies bench. "Who's looking after Emperor?" Steven said raising the moth for the rubies to analyze. Everyone looked at Doc as she sighed and walked up to the boy taking Emperor in her own hands. Doc grumbled walking off as Steven grabbed Sophie's arm and dragged her away from Ruby.

"Alright it's the bottom for the ninth. We've got Lapis on the second, but one more out and the games over for us, we need to hit a home run." Steven said his eyes widened as he heard the sound of laughter from the Ruby and blue haired 'human'. "Wait! I call a time-out!" Steven said as her ran over to the two. "Listen, you two, I know it's hard being separated, but we have to keep them out of the barn or their gonna find Peridot remember." Steven said throwing his arms up. "Ruby, stop being cute, and, Sapphire keep your eye on the ball." Steven said as they nodded. "Pun intended?" Ruby said, Steven snapped his fingers at the gem. "What did I just say?" He said.

The round started, Doc threw the ball, Sophie missed, earning a strike. The two looked at eachother. Ruby took the ball out of her glove and threw it back. The ball landed in Docs glove, the silence was loud and prominent in these moments. Emperor wiggled in navy's grip. "Come on! J know you can do it!" Ruby incuraged Sophie, Sophie groaned. Doc threw the ball again Sophie misses again. gaining another strike. Ruby threw the ball back. "Just look at the ball." Ruby says. "I'm trying, but all I want to look at is you." Sophie said.

"Dont worry, you can look at me when your running for home." Ruby said looking up at Sophie, Sophie smiled. Doc lit the ball on fire and threw it with all her might, Sophie yelled and whacked the ball freezing the bat and knocking it out of the park. Ruby cheered as Sophie ran around the bases. Army threw her glove down in anger.

Emperor moved out of navy's grip and ran towards Leggy much to Navy's dismay. Emperor nudged Leggys gem once she got there. Leggy drifted her eyes down from the game and patted Emperor's head. Leggy looked at the game then back at Emperor, then thought of Steven's words.

"He won't mind right, the rounds about over. Oh come 'ere  you!" Leggy mumbled picking Emperor off of the ground into her arms as she watched the game again, petting Emperors back, as she let out chirps of joy everytime Leggys hand came in contact with her back. Sophie ran to the last base, smiling wide.

"Come to me!" Ruby cheered holding her hands out wide as they both started to laugh, Sophie jumped into Ruby's arms. They began to tumble their laughter became one as they fused. "Whoops." Garnet said as she stopped laughing.

"They're gems!" Doc yelled.
"we've been tricked!" Army yells.
"What a turn of events!" Navy comments.
Eyeball growls.
"Huh? W-what?" Leggy said a little caught up in the soft fur of the moth.

"Sorry guys. Game is over." Garnet said getting up and into position as everyone came up behind her.
"Thats it!"
Doc said jumping on Leggy, making her drop Emperor.
"Rubies combine." Doc says as everyone got in position and they began to fuse. As the light died down, the Ruby fusion roared.

"Wait!" The Ruby fusion set its eyes on the Peridot that screamed, "Uh, wait! Stop! Don't hurt them" Peridot said running  and falling many times, before scampering to the rest of everyone. "Wait uh please please. It's me your after, right? I'm not gonna stand by and let my friends fight my battles!" Peridot said. "Aww! Peri loves us." Steven said starry eyed.

"Are you the Peridot assigned to the failed earth mission?" The fusion asked. "Not sure if 'failed' would be the right word to-" Peridot was cut off by the huge fusion. "Where is Jasper?" The fusion asked. "Your looking for Jasper?" The green gem asked wide eyed. "Correct!" The Ruby fusion asked.

"Wait but I'm the one who betrayed the mission, who called yellow diamond a clod, the new leader of the crystal gems?" Peridot said earning a 'what?' From pearl. "Tell us where Jasper is now!" The fusion demanded.  "Jasper, um, we know where Jasper is." Peridot said looking at Pearl who was slowly shaking her head.

"Well?!" The fusion yelled, "uhhhhh-" Peridots stalling was cut off by Steven. "Neptune! She's on the planet Neptune." Steven blurted out pointing to the sky, the fusion looked at the sky, then back at the boy.

Silence.

"Well, why didn't you say so?" The fusion said unfusing as stevne let out a breath. Emperor trotted over to the now sitting Leggy and nudged her gem licking it. "We all here?" Doc asked counting the rubies and counting herself. "To the planet Neptune!" Doc says, Leggy gives a sad glance at doc but got up and grabbed Emperor.

"Let's move out soldiers." Army said "what a lovely-sounding planetl" Navy comments. "But we just got here." Leggy says as Doc grabbed Emperor, placed her down and grabbed Leggys arm. "Let's go newbie!" Doc says running to the ship, Eyeball stayed behind. "Thank you." Was all she said before walking away, and to the ship, who seems to be having some problems. "Emperor, you can't come!" Leggy whined as the moth nudges at her gem looking up at her.

Eyeball picked the moth up, and placed her a couple inches away from the ship. "Organics don't come in the ship?" She said before pushing Leggy inside getting inside herself and shutting the door on the moth. The ship shot up before Emperor could do anything and zipped out of there. Emperor whines and lays her head near the hole.

"Man, Rubies are dumb."

"Not all of them."
