'Comfy' Cells

"Enjoy your stay!" Horror called cheerily, slamming his axe down against the floor as he flung the two smaller's into the old cell he'd chosen for them.

Dream collided with the rough brick wall with a grunt, hissing weakly in pain. He pressed a hand against the floor, pushing himself up just in time to have Killer's limp body flung on top of him. The smaller collapsed again, groaning.

Horror laughed loudly, slamming the cell door shut loudly and locking it with one of the many keys attached to the chain on his belt. "Try not to die, you've got a week till the tournament starts after all~"

Dream growled, glaring after him as he walked off, his axe dragging along the ground behind him. "Psycho."

By his side, Killer groaned lowly, his face contorting in pain as his eyes fluttered open. "Wh-Wha...?"

"Shh." Dream immediately quietened him, gently pressing a hand over his mouth. "Don't talk..."

Killer, being Killer, managed to ignore that completely, reaching a hand up to weakly push Dream's hand away. "A-Are you okay...?"

"Me? I'm fine, it's you that's hurt!" Dream shook his head, looking down at the knife that was still dug right into Killer's side.

"Mm...it's just a knife wound..." He mumbled softly.

"Oh Shut up and stop trying to act so tough." Dream said, poking his cheek before leaning down and ripping a strip off of the bottom of his shorts. "Okay, so I'm going to have to pull it out, okay?"

"...Not really. A-And I thought the rule is that you don't p-pull it out!"

"Maybe in your world, but not in the upper realm. I know my powers have been taken from me, but I'm pretty sure that I'll still be able to use some types of magic like healing. I can sense my soul around somewhere, yes it's far, but it might allow me to heal you."

"You're basing this on an assumption?!" Killer shook his head, weakly trying to shuffle away from the smaller. "Just leave it there, it can just be a part of my hip!"

Dream raised an 'eyebrow', his expression emotionless as he reached out and grabbed onto the hilt of the knife unexpectedly. "On three."

"W-Wait no!"

"One."

"Dream wait I'm serious!"

"Two."

"Dixhusjsjdjx nonononono STOP!" He tried to escape, panicking.

"One."

Killer let out a shriek as Dream suddenly ripped the knife out, his body twisting and contorting in pain. "OW FUCKING HELL!"

"Okay, Okay, Sorry!" Dream called, quickly pushing Killer down and pressing his hands against the rapidly bleeding wound. "J-Just stop struggling and relax."

"Relax? RELAX?! IM BLEEDING OUT!" He screeched.

Dream winced focusing all the energy he had to try heal the wound. "Shut up or it won't work."

Killer surprisingly obeyed, going limp on the floor and biting his hand tightly, eyes squeezed shut.

The smaller hummed softly, feeling his hands start to glow a little and become warm, whatever little energy he could harness to heal the wounded mortal. "I promise you won't die..."

"I better not..." He whispered, a dry laugh escaping him. "Missy will need me...she'll get lonely if I don't come back...and hungry..."

"Oh, I forgot about you cat. Will she be okay...?"

"I hope so..." He frowned, his eyes fluttering open to look up at him. "But she will get hungry...and she's too fat to catch mice anymore..."

A weak giggle escaped Dream before he could stop it, shaking his head. "That's a bit mean."

"Oh no, I tell her every day that she's the prettiest fat cat. She knows."

"Still, I'd be offended if I could understand you." He tilted his head to the side slightly, satisfied that the blood seeping from his wound was lessening.

"She can understand me thank you very much." He huffed, glaring half heartedly up at him. "If I ask her a question, she'll meow in response."

"I'm almost 113% sure that most cats do that anyway."

"Shut up, you're ruining my moment."

"Would I ruin it more if I told you your wound wasn't healing?"

"Yes, you really would."

"Good." He smiled softly down at him. "Because it seems to be healing up well enough. Soon the blood will stop."

"Yippee."

Dream hummed, shifting on his cracked knees. "You'd think we could have maybe got a comfier cell."

"Tell me about it, my skull feels like its being crushed against this floor." Killer mumbled, sighing softly. "So do you know how long we're gonna be down here for? And please don't say eternity."

"A week..."

"Is that all? Why?" He looked up at him in confusion. "Why?"

"This kingdom has a tournament once a year hosted by my brother. People wanting to join his ranks enter to fight monsters and basically get brutally ripped apart in the hopes to gain a higher status. He's decided that entering us would be the the most entertaining way to dispose of us..." He winced, looking to the side.

"Sweet mother of Jesus we're screwed."

"I know..."

"Hey, why haven't you killed me yet...?"

"Hm?" He looked down at the smaller through the shadows, his face going blank for a moment.

The other looked up at them, a mixture of fear and curiously clouding his emotions. "You were going to kill me earlier, remember..."

"Would you rather die?"

"...Maybe. I haven't got much to live for other than my brother."

"How selfish of you."

"Mhm..." He looked up at the God, noticing how all his features were illuminated by the moonlight streaming through the small barred window high up in the cramped cell.

The God held his stare, his piercing blue eye unblinking. His expression was completely emotionless, not giving anything away.

The smaller shifted, his chains clinking and scraping together quietly, breaking the previous silence in the room. "...Why did you even take me?"

He looked down at him, his expression never changing. "I was bored, thought you might be a good source of entertainment. I was wrong."

"Can't you just send me back home? I'm not going to go round blurting about your existence, am I?"

"Are you?"

"People would just think I'm crazy."

The taller ignored him and stretched, his long tentacles flicking out behind him in a bored fashion. It was then that the chained one noticed the split in one of them.

"What the hell happened there? You get in a fight?" Genuine curiosity took over his expression.

"Some mortal got me with a knife after my brother tricked me, that's all. It'll be healed naturally in a few days." He shrugged, glaring down at him irritably.

"Why wait a few days if it can be healed right here right now?"

"Excuse me?" The God narrowed his eye, hissing slightly. "What the hell are you implying?"

"Nothing." He looked up at him innocently, holding up his chained hands. "I can heal."

"You want to heal me?" He looked at him in disbelief, laughing harshly. "How funny."

"I'm not joking, I can hardly pull a trick on you can I? And if you don't like it, you can just kill me. But please, make it quick if you do."

The taller looked down at the chained mortal, his expression wary and tentacles twitching. "I'm still confused as to why you'd offer this..."

The other smiled weakly. "That's just how I am..."

"How pathetic." He sneered. But even as he said that, he slowly rested the split tentacle in their hands and crossing his arms over his chest. "Go on then. Do your worst."
