Ch. 10 - Call Back.
'Wait!' He had said, clearly about to reply to her. Why could he have said though? Nothing came to mind, for Mykailla. Speaking of...
Mykailla sat, still leaned up against her headboard, with her knees clutched tightly to her chest. She stared at her phone, which was tightly clutched in her hands.
"I'm such an idiot," She whispered to herself, still staring at her phone, followed by a loud groan. Maybe I should call him back.. Ugh. Yeah, I should call him back. She quickly re-dialed, bringing the phone up to her ear once again. It rang three times before she heard his voice.
"Hello?"
Mykailla wasn't actually a hundred percent sure what she had called to say.. Did she even have a reason?
"Uh, helllooo? Anyone there?"
".. Yes.." She said in a small voice. What had she wanted to say?!
"I... Wanna say this is Mykailla again?" Ricky's voice said, sounding unsure.
"It is."
"Okay.. Uhm, why did you hang up if you were just going to call back?"
"Truthfully?... I-I don't know."
"You don't know."
"Yeah.. I'm not even- I don't even have- Can I just-" The young woman groaned in frustration, throwing her head back against the headboard of her bed multiple times.
"Mykailla? Whatever you're doing, stop. I can hear that, and whatever 'that' is, it sounds painful."
"It is!" Mykailla huffed, rubbing her head as she stopped and got up off her bed. "That's why I'm doing it."
"Well, stop." Ricky's voice said dully.
Mykailla huffed. "Shut up."
"Alright." Ricky shrugged, though no one could see. "Bye."
Mykailla opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Ricky hanging up the phone. She pulled the phone away from her ear to stare at it. "Well then." She scoffed and hung up her phone as well. "I guess I didn't have anything else to say.."
~
Ricky hung up his phone, shrugging. "I don't even know with her." He shook his head, turning his turn signal on as he rounded the last corner to Micah's house.
He parked his Jeep at least a block away from the house, then got out and walked the block from his car to the house. Thank God I put on a coat. Ricky shivered. After reaching the house, he walked around to the side that Mykailla's room was on, and scooped up a couple rocks.
Yes, he was going to toss rocks at her window. How else is he supposed to get her attention while still staying as far away from her as possible?
Ricky tossed a couple rocks; which went unnoticed.
About ten minutes later, Mykailla's window opened. "Whoever is doing that needs to--" She ducked back inside quickly as a rock flew up and hit her in the face. "Eeep!"
"I was not aiming for your face," Ricky laughed. "I'm sorry."
Mykailla stuck her head back out slowly. She then stuck it out all the way, her hand covering her right eye. "You f*cking A**!"
Ricky tsk'd. "Well, that's not very nice."
Mykailla glared. "Why are you here?"
Ricky shrugged. "You lied to me; I just wanted to know if something happened."
Mykailla blinked. What? "Wh-Why would something have happened?"
"Mykailla, you're such a sh*t liar." Ricky groaned. "What happened?"
"Nothing h-happened." Mykailla ducked her head back in quickly; though not shutting her window. She must be coming back.
"Mykailla," Ricky sighed, shivering once. "You hate me, I hate you, but I still want to know what happened. You don't lie to me.. You have never lied to me, before today."
Mykailla stuck her head back out a little bit. "How do you know, hm?" She asked quietly, though loud enough that Ricky could hear.
Ricky inhaled sharply. Oops. The whole right side of Mykailla's face was red, flushed, and very purple around the eye. "I don't, I guess.. But I'm pretty sure you've never lied." He answered flatly, though with a hint of.. Something that Mykailla couldn't place. "And I'm sorry.. I really wasn't meaning to hit your face."
Mykailla covered her face again, then nodded slightly. "I know. It's.. Okay, I guess."
Ricky nodded, clutching his jacket closer to his body. You could see that Mykailla was shivering, but she still didn't pull her head back in the window.
"...."
"...."
".. So, I see you still have my sweater." Ricky commented.
Mykailla nodded. "Mhm."
Ricky nodded as well.
"..."
"..."
"I feel like I should invite you in, because it's c-cold." Mykailla huffed.
Ricky shrugged. "It'd be nice, because it is cold.. But I really don't give a sh*t. I can leave, I kinda don't want to though."
"Why?"
"Because I still want to know why you were lying."
"I..- Hold on." She closed the window, still not taking her hand away from her face.
Ricky raised an eyebrow. Uhm.. Okay? He stood there a minute, waiting. When he was about to leave, a shout from the front of the house was heard.
"Get over here, a**hole. It's cold."
Ricky couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he made his way to the front of the house.
After he got inside, he shivered slightly. "Burr." He shivered again as Mykailla closed the door.
"Okay, okay," Mykailla huffed, burying one hand in her pocket, the other still covering the right side of her face. "What did you want again?"
"Why you were lying," Ricky answered, frowning. "Mykailla, let me see your eye."
"No, it's fine." Mykailla shook her head. "And alright, alright. I want you to apologize to me first though."
"I already said sorry."
"No, about this morning.."
"..."
"... Ricky, we were both at fault. Me, mostly." Mykailla muttered the last part, looking at the floor. She looked back up. "And I want an apology."
Ricky sighed, rolling his eyes. "Fine. I'm sorry.. Now; answer."
Mykailla walked past Ricky, to the living room. "Don't get snippy with me, Olson." She gestured to the couch. "Sit. I'll be right back."
"Where are you going?" Ricky asked, standing behind the couch and putting his hands on the back to support himself.
"To check out my eye." And with that, she headed to the bathroom that was downstairs.
"You said it was fine!" Ricky half-yelled after her.
"It is!" She snapped.
The bathroom door didn't slam shut, surprisingly. Huh.
Ricky raised an eyebrow, standing up straight and shrugging off his jacket. He walked to the kitchen and found the softest hand towel he could, then whetted it and rung out the excess water. He headed to the bathroom. Mykailla was trying to clean out and around her eye. She winced, both her eyes watering.
"Hey," Ricky said softly, not wanting to surprise her and make her stab herself in her eye. "I have a cloth." He held up the damp hand towel.
"Thanks." Mykailla muttered, covering her eye again. Ricky sighed.
"Mykailla, did I get dirt or small pebbles in there or something?"
"No, now go away."
Ricky rolled his eyes. "Come here." He stepped closer, grabbing her forearm to turn her more towards the light. "Move your hand."
Mykailla shook her head, closing her other eye. Ricky grabbed her wrist of the hand that was covering her affected eye. "Mykailla, I can't clean it if you don't move your hand."
"I hate you. I don't want you touching me." She muttered angrily... Yet she didn't move away from him.
He sighed quietly, grasping her wrist slightly harder and pulling her hand down. Ouch. Worse than it was earlier.. I hope this doesn't get infected. "Then why aren't you moving away from me?" Ricky asked quietly, placing a hand on her cheek to pull the bottom of her eye down a little. He carefully cleaned out the pieces of dirt under and just inside of her water line; her looking up and away from him. She never answered him.
"There." Ricky said after a couple minutes. "If you have any saline, you should probably clean out your eye more thoroughly.. Or go to an eye doctor."
Mykailla nodded small, still not moving away from him.. She stepped back a tiny bit, blinking, letting some tears from her eyes being open too long escape.
Ricky nodded as well, releasing her forearm. "Alright, well, c'mon. You still have some explaining to do."
"I know." Mykailla said quietly, then walked past Ricky and to the living room, wiping the tears from her face with the sleeves of her sweater.
She sat in one of the chairs, immediately curling up into a ball. Ricky sat on the side of the couch that was closest to Mykailla. "..." He looked expectantly at Mykailla. She sighed.
"Okay, remember that one time that we.."
Ricky nodded. Why is she bringing this up now?
"Well, do you remember what happened during it?" Mykailla asked quietly, clearly starting to get embarrassed. Ricky thought a minute, looking away in thought.
"... Uh.. You lost your virginity?" He looked back at her, raising an eyebrow.
Mykailla gave him a deadpan look.. Yeah, it was true, but that wasn't the thing she was talking about.
"Okay, not that.. Uhm.."
"...." Mykailla sighed. "You obviously don't remember."
"I'm sorry..?"
"Whatever; well, you tried new things.. Do you remember some of the 'new things' you tried?"
"Wh--" He stopped. Is it that...? "Was it the kinky sh*t?" Ricky asked bluntly; seemingly not phased. "You said you were okay with it."
Mykailla buried her face in her knees. "I was at the time... Until you got into the.. Uh, spanking. And... And the excessive hair pulling.. The handcuffs; collar.. And then the breath play?"
Ricky blushed slightly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh, that.." That was a weird couple months..
"W-Well, all that counted as almost beating in my book.." Mykailla mumbled. "I... Was talking to Chris earlier about what happened, and I... It-It just came back."
Ricky nodded slightly. ".. Well, I'm sorry." He apologized sincerely. "But, uh, why were you talking to Chris about this?"
"I didn't get into details." Mykailla mumbled again. Geez, she must feel really awkward.
Ricky nodded again, then shrugged. "Just don't tell him anything else, okay?"
Mykailla nodded, still blushing brightly.
"..."
"..."
"... We also should discuss something else." Ricky broke the semi-awkward silence.
Mykailla tilted her head slightly in confusion. "...?"
"About this morning." Ricky clarified.
"Oh.."
"Yeah. What happened?"
Mykailla shrugged, lowering her legs to cross them beneath her.
Ricky sighed. "Mykailla.."
"Ricky.." Mykailla said back, wrapping her arms around herself and looking directly at Ricky.
"What. Happened?"
"..." Mykailla sighed. "I got too comfortable with you again, and that was a mistake. I'm sorry. I forgot that we hated each other, at the time." She added the last part with bitterness in her voice.
Ricky narrowed his eyes slightly, then scoffed. "Right, okay. So that's why you were grinding down on me?"
"Yeah?" Mykailla answered; almost as if it were a question.
Ricky rolled his eyes. "Give me the real reason."
"That is the real reason!" Mykailla almost shouted. Overreaction much?
Ricky raised his eyebrows, slightly taken aback by her raising her voice. She blushed out of frustration, slight anger, and slight embarrassment. "It's the truth. I don't care if you believe it or not."
".. Fine, whatever. I'll just leave now, then-" He started to get up, but then stopped himself and sat back down, looking curiously at Mykailla. "Why do you keep having to remind yourself and me that we hate each other?" He asked out of the blue.
It was Mykailla's turn to be taken aback. "W-What?"
"You've been doing it recently... A lot, actually." Ricky murmured quietly, narrowing his eyes in thought.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Mykailla answered, mostly telling the truth.
"..." He stood. "Stand up."
Mykailla looked up at him. Damn, she seemed even smaller while she was sitting and he was standing. Ricky pulled her up, forcefully, yet somehow gently. "I asked you to stand."
"Yes, you did." Mykailla said in a smarta** tone. Ricky glared slightly, then pushed her against the nearest wall; palms flat against the wall on either side of her head. She wasn't blushing as much as Ricky thought she would. Hm...
"Don't get all smarta**y with me." Ricky lowered his head to look her in the eyes; a serious look on his face. "What do you think I'm going to do?" He asked softly.
U-Uhmm.. Mykailla swallowed, tentatively placing her hands flush to the boy's chest. "I-I don't know.. Please get away." She whispered weakly, pushing softly against Ricky's chest. Ricky raised an eyebrow.
"I asked nicely.."
Ricky leaned down and whispered in Mykailla's ear; repeating exactly what she had said a couple minutes ago. "Yes, you did." He smirked, kissing just below her ear. Now is when she blushed. She closed her eyes, leaning away slightly, subconsciously.
Mykailla pushed him away with slightly more force. "Ricky.."
"Hm?" He hummed, pulling away to look at her. He licked his bottom lip, turning it into a bite and nibbling on his piercings. His lips were only inches away from Mykailla's.
"Can.. Can you back up, please?" Mykailla asked quietly, almost touching her lips to his, but pulling away before she could do something she would regret.
"Tell me you don't want to kiss me.." Ricky told her, inching slightly closer. Her breath smelled like mint.
".. I-I don't want to kiss you." She whispered, almost sounding like she was reassuring herself.
"I told you," Ricky whispered, brushing his lips against hers. "You're a sh*t liar."
Then, he kissed her
