Meet the Characters
Robert Jekyll
The alter-ego of Hyde. Considerate and caring, but can get panicked and relies on Hyde for problems. A young, sensitive man with a strong sense of morality and loyalty. He slips between his own persona and that of Hyde's unwillingly. He has two sisters, Olalla and Charlotte, and an adopted brother, Ravi. He loved Lily Carew, but broke up their relationship after finding out she was an MIO spy. However soon after he rekindled his romance with Isabella Charming.

(Robert)Hyde
The side of Robert awakened by injury, anger or red monocane. The exact opposite of Jekyll, confident, risk-taking and lives on the edge. However also loves Bella. Like his family, he is invulnerable and has inhuman strength. Dislikes MIO, Tenebrae and Lily Carew. Is known as Chaos in his Bloodlusted state, and can wield the Hyde Sword.

Olalla Hyde
Robert's rebellious sister. Was taken in by Tenebrae at a young age and bitten by Keres, half-changing her into a vampire. Has inhuman speed and invulnerability, but has to feed on blood. Uses the Sangira Maximila, or bloodspike, to drain people of their blood. Is known as the Tribunal and wields the Jekyll Ring. Was in love with Santiago Greymark, a werewolf in Tenebrae, but murdered him to prove her loyalty to Captain Dance.

Lottie Jekyll
Olalla and Robert's sister. Mindwiped by MIO of her youth and stolen away by Tenebrae, she took the identity of Fedora, then Natalia Olejova, before settling with her birth name Charlotte, or Lottie. Her Hyde side was removed by Tenebrae during the Amortidor creation, but she gained telepathic powers. Is the classic sociopath, and has murderous tendencies, even preferences. Likes classic horror films and poetry. Is known as the Order, and wields the Jezequel Amulet. She fancies Tom Sackler of MIO, and used to love Teken Clariuidens when she was in Tenebrae. Has a Russian accent from living in Moscow for most of her teenage years, but it has softened over time.

Maggie Hope
Lottie, Olalla and Robert's grandmother and Louis Hyde's mother. Caring and considerate, she looks after her family, and doesn't let anyone cross them. Her real name is Margaret Kendall, but changed it after she went into hiding from Tenebrae. As a young woman she was a performer at the Empire Music Hall, and admired very much so by Garson.

Garson Poole
Henry Jekyll's footman and assistant, Garson works at the Empire opposite Bella Charming. He is quiet, but fearless, and holds a special place in his heart for Maggie. Despite his age and knowledge of Hyde, he retains a certain affection for his former master that has been passed on to Robert, with Robert appreciating Garson's insight and knowledge into his grandfather's work.

Isabella Charming - deceased
Landlady of the Empire Drinking Hall and lover of Robert Jekyll/Hyde. Runs a criminal gang on the side, and is the classic 'bad girl'. She is powerful and can stand her own, more than a match for the unruly, supercharged Hyde. She's had a tough life and it shows. She's beautiful, dangerous, self-reliant, clever but eventually falls hard for the dangerous charms of Hyde. Although she is tough, Bella has a kind heart. She knows martial arts and is an expert pickpocket. She was killed by the Vampire Queen Keres in revenge, and Hyde is trying all he can to bring her back to life.

Ravi Najaran
Robert's adopted brother. Is a bookworm and loves finding out about monsters and the supernatural. Is now a host of the Reaper Bug so has limited clairvoyant powers. Intelligent and fluent in Latin.

Captain Melanios Dance
The leader of Tenebrae and former lover of Lottie Jekyll, Dance believes the world is only fit for monsters. He wants to recruit the Jekylls to help him with his aspiration. Has a strong disliking for Louis Hyde and Keres. He has regenerative powers and can be revived after death using Moroii. Is undead, and can revive corpses, turning them into monstrous creatures known as Vetala. His family supposedly originates in Hell, and he is related to the Old God, Lord Trash. His assistant is named Semira, a shapeshifting creature.

Sir Roger Bulstrode
The leader of MIO, Military Intelligence Other, a monster hunting organisation. Bulstrode is a confident, secretive man known for driving hard bargains. Is not fazed by the supernatural.

Semira Maleficent
A shapeshifting creature that takes the form of a beautiful horned woman. Can grow wings to fly and has limited magical abilities. Is believed to have originated in Scotland. Can wield any of the Pan Instruments, but chooses against it as she has to shapeshift into one of the Jekylls or Jezequels to use it. Is an assistant to Captain Dance, but her loyalties are mixed.

Tom Sackler
MIO agent. Very talented spy and sniper, from North Wales. Has a crush on Lottie Jekyll, but is warned against it. Loves poetry, and often responds to commands, questions and statements by quoting lines specific to the situation. At first when he joined MIO he was sceptical of the supernatural, but now is not fazed by it.

Joshua Silverlight
A sorcerer, running the only legal magic service in London. Originally from Asia, but moved to Britain after a troubled childhood. Has very powerful magic and will grant wishes but at a price. Usually seen sporting a black and red mohawk, and draping robes. Is seen as slightly flamboyant, and is believed to be bisexual.

Lily Carew
MIO agent and ex-girlfriend of Robert Jekyll. Loyal and hardworking, but can be slightly bitter. Extremely loyal to MIO and Bulstrode, she is manipulative and one of the organisation's greatest aid. She is the granddaughter of the murdered Sir Danvers Carew, and therefore carries down a certain fear of Robert's Hyde persona. She does still care for Robert Jekyll, but understands he doesn't love her back. She is talented at martial arts, and studied bio-chemistry at Cambridge University.

Hilary "Hils" Barnstaple
Former business associate of Maxwell Utterson and close friend of Robert Jekyll. Courageous and strong-willed, she excels in both combat and paper work. Can take a drink, drives too fast and is a good shot. Likes clay pigeon shooting and fencing.

Renata Jezequel-Jekyll
An Amortidor created to be a host for Lottie Jekyll's increasing power. Initially child-like and naïve, she has grown into her surroundings and taken the mantle of the original Renata Jezequel. Also as time has passed, she has slowly taken Renata's appearance too. Is engaged to Teken Clariuidens, but doesn't know of his feelings for Lottie.

Teken "The Harbinger" Clariuidens
Renata's fiancée, Teken was subjected to genetic modification by Tenebrae and mutated into a half-hound, half-human hybrid known as the Harbinger. Was entrapped by MIO and incarcerated in the lower vaults with the Cutter, but was released during Tenebrae's attack on MIO. Afterwards he was reverted back to human form by Renata, and now inhabits the Jezequel House, helping Renata protect the portal. Has strong clairvoyant powers. He is engaged to Renata, but still has feelings for his former lover Lottie.

Louis Hyde
Louis is Olalla, Lottie and Robert's father, as well as Maggie and Henry's son. Was a Captain, fighting Ottoman's Empire during World War One, where he met Captain Dance. He joined Tenebrae reluctantly, and, when they were hunting his children, Olalla and Robert, he disguised himself as a Vetala. He attacked Dance and escaped with Robert, but was unable to save his daughter. Has a strong sense of duty as a father, but was forced into hiding and faked his own death. Is believed to have been possessed by Tenebrae in order to entrap Lottie.

Artifacts
The Hyde Sword
An indestructible cutlass made from black monocane. Can only be wielded by a Hyde, Jekyll or Jezequel. The jewels encrusted in the handle change colour according to whoever's using it: Red for Hyde, green for Jekyll and purple for Jezequel. Is made from three artifacts given to the three Jekyll siblings, Olalla, Robert and Charlotte. Can be used to slay demons. Usually wielded by Robert Hyde in his Bloodlusted state, the Chaos.
The Jekyll Ring
A ring that can bend reality and make anything real. Extremely dangerous in the wrong hands. Also has a gem that changes colour with the user. The most powerful of the three artifacts. Because of its power it can corrupt the user. Wielded by Olalla Jekyll-Hyde, the Tribunal.
The Jezequel Amulet
Sometimes called the Eye of Ibhokisi. It has abilities of mind reading, psychic control, emotive control and telepathy speaking. The only 'merciful' artifact of the three; possessed individuals are put into the 'Puzzlebox'. What happens inside it is unknown as no one has been known to escape. However if they do, the possession hold is taken off and they are free to go. Wielded by Charlotte Jekyll, the Order.
Sangria Maxilla
Sangría Maxilla or "bleeding jaw" is a tool used by Olalla Jekyll to drain and imbibe the blood of her victims. The use of this tool results in what appear to be the fang marks of a vampire, complete with drained blood. It is now part of the Hyde Sword.
Jezequel Family Book
A book describing the strengths and weaknesses of every monster the Jezequel family has encountered while protecting the portal. Is illustrated and also has instructions on how to open the portal to Lord Trash's homeworld, the Underworld. It was gifted to Robert Jekyll by Renata Jezequel before her death, and now his adopted brother Ravi is looking after it.
