Newbie || Chapter 9

Alice was slightly stunned that the lady knew her name without asking. But it soon wore off as she quickly nodded her head.

"I've been expecting you the longest," The lady paused to look at her. "But do you know why you're here?"

"Is it because of my mother?" She asked timidly.

"That's half of it. But we'll get to that later. As you must know, my name is Mrs. Morg, and I'll be your course training teacher." Mrs. Morg introduced.

Before she could reply Mrs. Morg cut in.

"And may I ask, do you know what you are?" The way she spoke this time made Alice look her fully in the eye.

"Pardon me?" She said, not quite getting what she was saying.

"I asked do you know what you are. Its rude to have to repeat myself." Mrs. Morg was looking a bit impatient as she waited for her answer.

She only stared at her like she was dumbfounded. What could she possibly mean by what she is? But then she remembered what Wanda told her, "Your mom was a Traveler, so that makes you one."

As she stared at Mrs. Morg she spoke with a bit of confidence in her voice. "I'm a Traveler."

Mrs. Morg only smiled. "Indeed you are. Once you learn about your destiny, you'll learn to accept it. Now right this way child." Mrs. Morg motioned for her to follow her.

Alice followed after the lady, as she lead her to a specific row of kids. The kids in the row had white suits just like herself. She watched as Mrs. Morg pointed to an empty seat way in the back.

"That is where you'll be seated from now on. If you have any questions just ask." She said as she waited for her to take her seat.

She took a nervous breath as she walked and sat in the seat she was instructed to sit. The kids in the white suits all looked back to look at her with blank looks. She didn't really mind the stares, she just didn't like the way they looked at her. She quickly averted her gaze towards the desk.

"Alright children, eyes on me. Send up your assignments." Mrs. Morg instructed.

She slowly looked around the room, as she saw kids picking up a flat screen object. It looked like the neon green virtual computer, but different and slightly smaller. She watched as the class started sending there assignments up, which she is guessing by virtual. She looked up at Mrs. Morg as she stood faced to the computer.

"Ahh, looks like I've got them all, but I'm missing one," She placed her glasses on. "Let's see. I got Sydney, Conner, Maximus. Wait a minute? There isn't a completed assignment for you Mr. Collin's."

Mrs. Morg turned her back from the computer as she scanned the whole class vigorously. Her gaze stopped at certain row of kids who were clad in dark blue.

She walked down the row, as she looked at the kids with irie eyes. That was until she stopped in front of the fourth desk with the meanest look she could muster.

"You already know I expect more out of you Maximus. What's the meaning of you not bringing you're assignment in on time?" Her voice raised slightly as she awaited his answer.

The boy with reddish hair cowered down at his desk as his eyes remained casted down. He looked a bit scared from Alice's perspective.

"Answer the question!" Mrs. Morg yelled demanding at the boy.

The reddish orange haired boy which she now know, is named Maximus speaks a bit nervously as he looks up at the teacher.

"I-I left it a-at home, but i-its finished I swear!" The boy exclaimed.

"Oh hush it boy! I've heard enough of you're lies. That's an F for failure on you're report card." She walked away from his desk as the boy's face turned red from embarrassment.

Alice just continued to stare at the boy. She might not know him, but she honestly felt bad for him. He didn't deserve to get treated like that.

"Now that that's over, who's ready for training? Get you're gadgets out children." Mrs. Morg spoke as if nothing happened. She watched as she saw her tap a buttoned on the wall beside her.

And in an instant, the room began changing. She looked around herself as the class room completely changed into another room. She felt the desk and chair shift from her, and fell to the ground with a thud. As she was on the ground, the room around her was transformed into a whole different way. The walls were still white, but a shade darker then usual. The room was way bigger than before, with computers lined up in a certain section in the room.

There was another section in the room that looked like a training area, for fighters and shooters. There were just so many areas in this room she couldn't help, but take all of it in. It was just so big!

"Breath taking isn't it?"

Alice looked up as she saw Winston smiling down at her.

"Winston, this is so unbelievable. How is this possible?" She asked him.

He helped her to feet before she could say anything more.

"For starters, this room can expand to about two-thousand yards or more. That is because its a training room for all abilities." He explained.

Before he could say anything more, the boy clad in dark blue from earlier came up from behind Winston.

"Typical lady always got to be pushy. Anyway what's up Winston?" He paused to look at Alice. "And you're Allison right? Welcome to Axton." The boy said as he stuck his hand out to her.

She gladly shook his hand and said, "Just call me Alice."

"Alice," He corrected before saying his own name. "I'm Maximus, but you can just call me Max. It's good to be having a new recruit on such short notice. Mind me asking where you're from?"

"Enough with the chatter Max. You're literally gonna talk her to death." Winston cut in with a serious look.

"Am not, I'm just curious." Said Max.

She just watched as the two boys engaged in a little argument about who's talking too much. Stupid right?

"Alight children, gather in you're positions!" Boomed the voice of Mrs. Morg.

Alice just watched as kids all around her gathered in certain areas around the room. She saw some lined up with the computers, and others in other areas she couldn't even name.

"Wish we could stay and show you around, but duty calls." Max said as he waved bye and headed in the area of different technology.

"Yeah, I have to go too. Catch ya later Alice." Winston waved as well and headed off in the area he was suppose to be.

She just stood in the middle of the room, unaware of what she's suppose to do.

"You may start!" Yelled Mrs. Morg, as the entire room suddenly broke out into an ear piercing noise.

Alice just watched as the room broke out into a war zone in front of her very own eyes. She saw kids fighting each other in combat, while others were just typing on the computer. It was literally nerv racking.

"And as for you Allison, come with me." She felt Mrs. Morg pull on her arm, as she lead her around.

As Mrs. Morg lead her, she saw as kids with different colors were sectioned out in small areas. She saw kids with yellow suits, green suits, red suits, and so on and so fourth. She lead her towards the group with dark blue. She was surprised, for she saw Max in the group. He was so focused on fiddling with a certain object to notice her.

"Since you're new, its only fair you know the different colors. Starting with the dark blues, as you can see these are the technitions. They are destined with intelligence and knowledge of building our technology. They are considered smart." Mrs. Morg explained.

"So they can build anything?" She asked as she watched the kids in Blue engage in there work.

"Yes, but only systems. Like computers, or gadgets. Come, I'll show you what the Yellow's do." She finished as she lead the way to were the Yellow's we're.

Alice saw as the kids in yellow we're fighting each other. Each Yellow lined up to its opponent as they charged each other.

"These are the Yellow's. They are fighters. They are trained to protect our community from any danger. They are known to be the bravest of us all."

She watched as the Yellow's engaged in battles with there partners. Her eye studied one boy who looked around the age of ten. She watched as he flipped his female opponent onto the ground with great force. He was about to send a punch to her face, until Mrs. Morg stopped him.

"That's enough Henry, not so rough."

The boy let out a frustrated sigh as he let his fist fall by his side.

"Now carry on, but be easy on her you hear?" Mrs. Morg said to the boy. The little boy gave a nod and helped the girl to her feet, before they started fighting again.

"Now would you like to see what you're kind do?" Mrs. Morg asked her in sudden excitement.

"My kind?" She repeated slowly.

"I'll just take that as a yes! Follow me." Mrs. Morg turned on her heel, and walked across the room to where the kids in white were. Alice soon after followed.

She stood next to Mrs. Morg as she followed her gaze. Now she see why she was staring. She watched as a blond haired boy in a white suit broke out in a fast run as he ran down a small track. There was a dead end at the end and she only feared that the boy would get hurt. The closer he neared, the more frightened she became. But just as he was about to crash dead in the wall, something incredible happend. Sudden blue sparks formed around him, and before she knew it he was gone. She couldn't help, but stare as she tried to understand what had just happend.

"How? Where's the boy? He was just here?" She couldn't stop the questions that were coming out of her mouth.

"That there Allison is the power of time travel."

"But he disappeared in thin ear!" She exclaimed in awe.

"Yes he did indeed. But your wondering how he did it aren't you? Well as you see, the power comes within the one's with this gift. You have to embrace it and believe it can happend." Spoken Mrs. Morg wisely.

"But I don't get what you're saying? What do you have to embrace?" She said in confusion.

Mrs. Morg just smiled. "In time you'll learn. In the mean time I have finish showing you around."

Just as Mrs. Morg was about to walk off she asked a specific question that has been bugging her right until now.

"So....I can do that?"

Mrs. Morg only stopped. "Of course. Only if you believe you can."
