Prologue
In a remote desert, far away from any civilisation, is an army base. This base is made of three buildings, and a parking lot for army vehicles, surrounded in a concrete wall. The three buildings were, a barracks, a assembly hall, and a research base.
The research base is the most important part of that army base.. The base is built far into the ground, five stories down, each in a hundred metre square. It was used to build new weapons and vehicles, but there was something else they did. They bred dragons, the last of there kind, and used them on top secret missions, usually blowing up buildings or houses out at sea.
Our story starts way down on the fifth floor, where a baby dragon was just about to hatch. A man was running down the hallway towards the room. He had a black suitcase dangling by his side. He sprinted around a corner, his white coat flapping behind him. He skidded to a stop near a door. Brushing down his coat he knocked on the door.
"Come in!" yelled someone from inside the door.
The man opened the door, and walked inside. It was a very plain room, it actually looked like some sort of hospital room, but instead of a bed it had a stand, made from sement. At the top was a bole like structure, covered in white cloth. In the middle of the bowl was an egg, a very large egg.
Two more scientists were standing next to the egg. One was holding a themometer, and the other was tiping rabidly on a computer stuck in the wall.
"Is it ready?" said the man with the suitcase.
"Yes," said the man, "It should hatch any minute now."
They all watched grimly as a crack appeared in the egg. More cracks started to appear, then suddenly two silver wings shot from the side of the egg. One of the men jumped in surprise. The egg continued to crack, until suddenly it shattered, the peices falling to the side, and in the middle stood a baby dragon.
The dragon was mainly yellow, with a white under belly. It had a long neck, and a triangler head, with scalene eyes, which were also yellow. The dragons tail was almost as long as the dragon itself, and the tip was a dangerous spear like barb. The strangest thing about this dragons was that it's back was completely covere in a silver substance, almost like a shell. No spines grew from the dragons back and its horns were straight, and they were also covered in silver.
The man with the suitcase frowned ,"What is this? A dragon has never looked like this before."
The man with the themometer walked up to the baby dragon. The baby looked up to him and yowled. He reached out his hand and picked the baby up. The dragon struggled a bit, and bit the man's thumb. The man cursed and dropped it. The baby made a rush for the door, trying to get out, but was stopped when a heavy boot came crashing down on the dragon's tail.
It came to a sudden stop and cried in pain. The man the reached down and grabbed it by the neck, just behind the head, and lifted it up. It struggled helplessly and tried to bite the man.
"This one's got some fight," said the man with the suitcase, smiling a gruesome smile.
He placed the baby back onto the stand, in the remanes of the egg. He let it go. It jumped at him, letting out a squeeky growl. It suddenly stopped in mid air, caught by an invisivble force. It struggled in mid air, scratching and biting. It eventually fell limp, exhausted from it's efforts.
The man with the themometer walked up to it. The baby dragon looked towards the man, and growled slightly, then lowered its head. The man hesitated, before walking towards the dragon. He placed his hand on the baby's head. It growled again, but didn't struggle. The man kept on prodding the dragon, stroking his hand along it's back and across it's scales and belly.
"It looks healthy enough," said the man, "and it certainly has a lot of fight, but there is something strange about this dragon. It's scales seem normal enough, but the silver shell, feels like metal."
The man knocked on the shell again, it created a metalic ring.
"In fact," said the man, "I'm sure it's metal."
The man with the suitcase frowned, "Can it be broken."
"Yes, yes," said the other man, "It's as strong as any normal metal, which means you just need a stronger drill."
The man stretched out the dragons wings.
"The wings are also metal, but they are very light, and thin," said the man.
He ran his thumb across the top of the wing, then cursed, and thin line of blood appeared. He staired at the wings in surprise.
"And his wings are very sharp," he said, "Sharper then the point of a needle."
He shook his thumb, a drip of blood flew from his finger and landed on the baby's snout. The baby went cross eyed, trying to see what had landed there. He licked the blood of his snout. The man frouned and walked up to it.
"Now to see what kind of element it is," he said.
He grabbed the dragons snout, and forced it's mouth open. The dragon started to struggle again, and tried to bite the man, but it couldn't. The man placed the themometer in the dragons mouth, and it bit down... hard. The themometer didn't break however. The temperature did start rising, but only by a bit, not enough to create fire.
"So this one isn't a fire dragon," said the man with the suitcase, "That's rear, very rear. What do you think it is?"
The other man pulled the themometer out of the dragon's mouth and gave it to the man at the computer.
"Well," he said, "I don't know what it is, I've never seen a dragon like this before."
He stroked the dragon's head. It snarled at him.
"It is a male, that much is certain, but if I had to guess what type of dragon it is... I would say a," the man thought for a second," metal dragon?"
He studied the dragon again.
"Yes," he said, "Definitly a metal dragon."
"A new species," said the man smiling, "This is interesting. So this one will definitly be useful to us."
The scientist nodded. The man with the suitcase placed it on a nearby bench. He clicked it open, revealing a strange item. It was a metalic device, with a red light beeping on top of it. The man took it out and pointed it at the dragon. A red light shone from the front, scanning the dragon, then it started to shrink, to the size of a man's finger.
The next object the man pulled from the suitcase was a drill.
"You said a slightly stronger drill?" said the man.
The other one nodded.
The man turned a nob on the drill, turning it up to a higher setting. He then grabbed the maching, and attached it to the drill. A wire stretched from the machine, circling around the drill. The man walked over to the baby dragon.
At the first sight of the drill it started to wimper. It started struggling ferociously, trying its best to free itself. The man laughed. He placed his finger on the dragon's chin, and lifted its head up to meet him.
"Don't worry little guy," he said with a smile, "This will only hurt... a lot."
He laughed and placed the drill to the baby's head, right between its two horns, then pressed the button.

Hey guys, like the story. I started to write because I couldn't help myself, the story seemed to be calling to me :) This one probably won't be as long as Imagination, but I hope it will be interesting. I haven't started writing book 2 of imagination yet because I haven't got enough of the plot yet, but I will start soon. I hope you enjoyed, vote and comment if you did, See Ya!
