Ladybug leapt onto the roof of the church, startled to see that the damage done was no illusion. "Looks like Shadowmoth gave Volpina an upgrade," she muttered. She scanned the area, looking for Chat Noir, only to feel someone grab her from behind. "Boo!"

Reflexes took over. Ladybug reached back, grabbed the wrist of her attacker, and slammed them onto the roof in front of her. She realized that it was Chat Noir, who smiled at her while wincing in pain. "Geez, Bugaboo, was that really necessary?" he said, rubbing his head.

Ladybug sighed and let go of his wrist. "First with Mr. Pigeon, now here. Don't scare me like that!" Chat Noir hopped up and grinned coyly at her. "Well, someone's feeling feisty today," he said. Then he stiffened. "Wait, the bride, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. What happened to her?" he said urgently.

A slight jolt of panic went through Ladybug's mind. He still doesn't know my true identity. I have to keep it that way. "Um, I took her away from the sanctuary. She's safe in another room," she said quickly. Chat Noir sighed, looking relieved. "Thank goodness," he said, then pulled out his baton and pointed towards Volpina. "She's over by the Louvre right now. Shall we, milady?" he said eagerly.

Ladybug pulled out her yoyo. "Let's do this thing, Chaton," she said, leaping off of the building.

-Timeskip to after the battle-

"Miraculous Ladybug!"

The magical ladybugs swirled through the air, repairing all of the damage done by Volpina's energy spheres. She smiled, then held out her fist to her partner. Chat Noir grinned goofily.

"Pound it!"

Ladybug reached into her yoyo and pulled out a small, orange and white charm. Walking towards Lila, she held it out. "Lila, this is a magical charm. It will protect you from negative emotions and keep you from becoming akumatised again," she explained. Lila stared at the charm, then grabbed it.

"A generous offer, Ladybug, but I thought I made myself clear..." she leaned back and threw the charm as hard as she could towards the road. "I don't need anything from you!" she cried, storming away.

Ladybug sighed. "Well, I guess some things never change," she said sadly. Chat Noir put a hand on her shoulder. "There's no harm in trying to be friends with her. She chose to lie. It's not your fault," he said reassuringly. Ladybug smiled, then was brought back to her senses with her earrings beeping rapidly.

"Gotta go! Bug out!" she said, launching herself into the air with her yoyo.

She swung through the air as fast as she could, letting out a relieved breath when the church came into view. She landed behind a bush in the courtyard, and just in time. Her outfit disappeared, revealing her wedding dress underneath. "Alright, Tikki, we have to get back inside. C'mon!"

But she froze when she felt someone's eyes on her.

She looked over to see Chat Noir staring at her.
